I have been a client at Salon Blo for years....that being said I have ventured to try other places who may be slightly less expensive but at the end of the day it's worth it to spend the extra money and have your hair done right. Recently had Balayage done by Melissa and cut and style with Shona. My husband also a client there has his hair cut by Maddie and always has a good experience. I discovered this place through yelp when looking for nearby salon for my brothers wedding. On my first visit I had an updo with Maddie. She is fantastic and followed exactly what I described to a T. I got so many compliments and the style lasted all night! On my second visit I was getting a blow dry with Melissa. I get blowdry's weekly so I am pickier than the average client and I know what I want and how my hair will respond. I explained in detail to my stylist that I wanted a lot of volume and that was my main priority, and the rest of the blowdry should be done with a round brush curl, a very classic blowout. She was very sweet and worked with me but the finish did not look polished and my ends looked limp. I also did not have enough volume on top and from the beginning I had asked her to do the front section first, since my hair dries fairly quickly. She did it at the end and did not know how to do a simple pin set for the top two pieces. She had to use a curling iron to roll the hair up and apparently adding curls is an extra $10 so I had to specify that I did not ask to curl 2 pieces of my hair. In the end the blowout was $20 so that is very reasonable, and I think that with some additional practice and enthusiasm the stylist can improve her skills. I also have to give her mention to the wonderful receptionist! She is one of the sweetest I have met and was very pleasant and accommodating every time I booked appointments and came in! I went there for the first time on Thursday and I had a great experience. Excellent customer service and really skilled hairdressers. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the staff were nothing but kind and super funny. My hairdresser, Christine, was so sweet. She kept a nice conversation going and did exactly what I wanted, as well as offered her own opinions as to what she thinks would look and suit my face shape best. The haircut cost me around $62, but in my opinion it was absolutely worth it because she washed my hair, cut it, and styled it. I was so pleased with how my hair turned out. I asked for curtain bangs that blend into layers and didn't want to take any inches off. Christine curled my hair and said that they would unravel into beach waves and will stay for a few days, which is what happened. It's been 2 days and the curls are looser and look beautiful. She also applied this amazing smelling hair oil so bonus marks. Highly recommend and I will definitely be getting my next haircut here. read more

I had a great stylist there, and found the place warm and welcoming. Then I decided to get my hair highlighted. They gave me an intermediate colorist. I didn't know what that meant and maybe that was my fault. It was a very nice young man. I told him I wanted just a light highlight on the top, I was getting my haircut after and I have short hair. First, it took forever and in between foils he was sweeping floors and restocking towels. Second, he did it very heavy. When I got my hair cut I had spots on the side of my head, like an animal has spots. I was pretty upset and my hair stylist said I could just buy a bottle of dye from the store and comb it in. Well, I was really unhappy and expressed this to the woman at the register. I was scheduled to come back for a fix, but still had to pay full price for the first unsuccessful procedure and no apology for all the time I wasted getting a horrible dye job. I could have done a better job with a box and a cap. Ok, my fault not knowing what intermediate meant. But giving you the towel boy for a pro job was very unprofessional. Not at least reducing the price or apologizing for the mess on my head, that was not cool. This is the first time I have ever written a bad review. I'm pretty ok with whatever my stylist does. But this was a management issue. That kid wasn't at fault for being put in that position. read more
