What made the situation even more frustrating was being told that I would be charged the full price if I did not proceed with the service, despite the issue being the result of the original booking. I even offered to reschedule for a different time or day to accommodate the situation, but I was still met with an unhelpful response. As someone who works in the hair industry at on of the top 10 salons in the COUNTRY, I understand that businesses have policies, but basic respect for a customer's religious beliefs and a willingness to find a reasonable solution should be part of good customer service. I was not asking for special treatment or being unreasonable; I was simply asking for an accommodation and was more than willing to work with them to find an alternative. Then I was told I was no longer welcome to this spa all because of something I wanted to be switched for my own personal reasons. This felt very wrong. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled left me feeling dismissed, disrespected, and very uncomfortable by the manager Christian and AM Skylar. A spa experience should be relaxing and welcoming, not stressful or confrontational. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves how they handle situations involving religious accommodations and customer concerns. Based on this experience, I would NOT recommend this spa to others. If the owners of this place want to expand and be on the top, teach your mangers how to talk to customers because not only did you lose me as a client at 1 location but all of them. When I saw it, I thought, "this is probably expired." I searched for the locations, called the closest one to me, explained the situation, and the receptionist was lovely. I told her it was from 2 Christmases ago and I wasn't sure it was good. She took the number on the card, and confirmed that it was all set. I filled out the sent paperwork, and got excited for this "treat myself" moment. There aren't any of these spas near my house, so I drove to the closest one to me, a half hour away. Only for the receptionist to tell me that my gift card isn't good here. She was not apologetic, I explained that I had called and got confirmation that I was good to go. She said she called her manager, and wouldn't be able to pay the esthetician because the money would go to another store. (I've worked retail, I get it. I do) But wait! I'm in luck, instead of using my gift card, I can pay $80 because I've never been here before. I simply responded that I'm not going to do that. She looked at me incredulously. She asked if I was going to get my facial, I asked her, "Why would I do that? Why would I give you money when you've refused a gift card I got confirmation over the phone at 3:00 today to use." She then turned the gift card over and pointed to the letters and said, "See? It says Bloomfield Hills." Okay, so I should've read the small letters in the back. That's on me. But maybe whomever I spoke to on the phone should have asked if it said a location. I suddenly got nervous that they're going to charge my card I had to give them to place my appointment, so I asked, and she said she's not going to charge me. I guess we'll see, because they did make me sign a 6 hour cancellation contract. What a terrible experience. Zero customer care. A huge waste of my time and gas. I genuinely, sincerely hope that whomever owns this establishment reads this and knows that you've earned a detractor for life. As I was about to leave I said to the receptionist, "I don't live close to here. You really should make sure that whomever answers the phone knows to double check these things." She looked uncomfortable so I left. Mainly because I feel stupid but they definitely perpetuated that feeling. No thank you.

I am no longer afraid to run out without makeup. My dark spots are slowly lightening up, my skin feels firmer, and looks less patchy. I have tried many other places to get facials, and they either aren't relaxing or the esthetician doesn't listen to my concerns and I end up leaving with burned skin. Yuliya listens completely, gives good advice, and does not try to push her own products. I have never had a problem with scheduling, which is a plus considering my tight schedule. After discussing at length what she thought went wrong, she made a plan to use different waxes and to have my hair length be right between 1/4"-1/2". When I went into the spa, I was apprehensive (and a bit annoyed by their parking situation - 1/3 of their parking lot was taken over by the construction being done next door), but Tricia warmly greeted me which put me at ease. She was hugely apologetic and made it a point to explain to me what she had changed about her procedures since reading my review. We went back and the underarm waxing was great. I never thought that I would refer to having hair pulled from a sensitive part of my body as "great", but Tricia was so gentle that I began to doze off while she worked. Afterwards, she carefully examined my skin to make the best after care plan. She noticed a small red patch (that I couldn't see even when I tried to look in the mirror for it) so put on a few soothing lotions. Afterwards, no redness, no skin tears, and even now two weeks later no ingrown hairs. The only reason that I couldn't give her 5* was because of her front desk staff. I had issues with misinformation from them the first time. When I called to try to understand what happened the first waxing, they were less than helpful. Then when I was coming in for the most recent waxing, I asked if they had any suggestions on where to park (due to 1/3 of their lot being taken over by construction) to have them tell me to look around and find a spot. While still on the phone with them a woman came to my car window, didn't introduce herself, and told me to park in the spots marked specifically for the pizza shop. It wasn't until I relayed this to the front desk staff that they informed me that it was the owner yelling at me. I would have no hesitation to go back to Tricia for any waxing services from here on out. ---- Today I had a bikini wax and underarm waxing done by Trish. I have received dozens of waxings before so felt like I knew what I was in for. When I called to schedule the appointment, I scheduled a Brazilian and underarm wax. I asked if there was anything I needed to know or do before my appointment. I was told "Do not shave or Nair or do anything to the areas to be waxed." I began asking if I should trim my hair to a specific length and was cut off and told "Do not cut it. She needs a good length of hair to let the wax adhere." Upon arriving I was notified that Trish doesn't do Brazilians and only does bikini waxing. Not what I wanted but I figured I would make the best of it. While waiting, I overheard the woman on the phone tell a client that the hair should be between 1/4" and 1/2" for waxing. Knowing my hair was longer than that, I addressed the matter first thing with Trish. She informed me that she wasn't allowed to cut/trim the hair down and proceeded to do a test patch on my underarm. She was pleased with how it came off and waxed my bikini line and underarms. While it was more painful than what I am accustomed to, I assumed it was because of the extra hair length. Once she finished she handed me a sample of a product to calm down inflammation. I assumed she did this for everyone. I paid then continued on with my day. When I arrived home 6 hours later, the skin was still painful so I checked it out in the mirror. I have bruising and marks that look like hickeys. If this was going to be the result of waxing hair longer than 1/2", I wish Trish would have informed me.
