I saw Emily for a single process color and could tell she was excellent. We talked through the color and styling quickly, and I'm excited to go back and get it done again! Made a nail appointment online for the next day, just to have gel removal, but noted my nails were dipped and wasn't sure if they did that. I received a phone call the next morning saying they saw the note and she only had 15 minutes at that time and that dipped nails take longer to remove and they usually don't do them. I asked if there was another time available. She then wanted to know if I had my nails done there..I told her I'm not from the area. She then proceeded to make excuses of why it takes longer to remove..I cut her off thanked her and hung up. Very unprofessional if you want new customers this isn't the way to handle it. I'm sure had I requested a full mani it wouldn't have been a problem. I come thru the area on my way to our 2nd home..which we spend from April til November and was looking for a regular salon to go to.. your loss. read more

I went here about two weeks ago to get a haircut. I called the day before and was able to get an appointment for the next day with Jennifer. When I arrived for my appointment, I was taken back promptly. After this though, my experience went down hill. From the start I was bombarded with constant sales pitches. I understand that the stylists work based on commission, but there is such a thing as being too pushy. I felt like I was treated like a dollar sign rather than a customer. Jennifer made sure to tell me about the current specials they had going on, which included a $20 hair glossing with any $30 hair service and a Mother's Day special which included a facial, manicure, and pedicure for $100. Since I was having a "treat yourself" day, I figured I'd get the $20 glossing since I was already spending $30 on the haircut. After shampooing my hair, Jennifer applied the glossing. This added about 20-25 minutes onto my service time. Not a problem and didn't care because it was an extra service she sold to me. Then she began the hair cut. I showed her what I wanted but I felt like I constantly had to remind her what I wanted. It was nothing like the picture. She initially didn't cut off enough hair, and I understand it's easier to take off then put back on, but I told you exactly how short I wanted it to be. I still had to ask for it to be cut shorter 3 times. I also had to tell her to layer my side bangs which are VERY obvious in the picture. Again, I had showed her a visual representation of what I wanted and voiced my needs and she still needed to be guided. Finally she was done cutting, but like I said it looked nothing like what I wanted. The whole entire time she tried to push the Mother's Day special on my about 3 times as well, in addition to constantly pushing the hair styling products she was using, which happen to be around $20 a piece. All in all, she only cut off three inches of hair. When she was done cutting and blow drying, I had her flat iron my hair because it was not flattering at all and I wanted to see if flat ironing my hair would make it look better until it grew out. At the end I was charged an additional $12 because of "how thick my hair was and how much she cut off". She only cut off about three inches. And my appointment didn't run longer because of my hair being thick, it ran longer because I bought your hair glossing service. Ended up with a total charge of $62, which isn't terrible at all, but for the subpar skill set and constant sales pitch I'd rather spend an extra $20 somewhere else. Won't be going back. read more

Went to get eye extensions the do flairs not single lashes. I did not like them got them taken off. Asked for a refund because they looked rediculous. The manager yelled very loadly at me and Amber the stylist apologized to me for how she spoke to me. Cancelled all further apts. read more

This was my first visit to Salon Beautiful. I got a gel manicure. This was the worst gel manicures I ever had. Very, very sloppy work. I am including a picture. Don't waste your time or money. This was for a special occasion. I had to go the next day and get them redone somewhere else. I wish I could rate it zero stars. read more

I gave this salon 2 stars because my first visit wasn't great, but it wasn't awful either. The second was horrible. I went here on a friend's recommendation. First hair cut wasn't exactly what I wanted but decided to try again with Amber because my friend really liked her. My second haircut also wasn't what I had asked for and looked amateurish. I asked her to correct it and she said she couldn't then and said I might just need to wash it and play around with the styling and to call in if it still seemed off. She had someone waiting so I get the sense she was trying to rush me off. I waited a couple weeks and still wasn't happy so I called in and the manager answered and when I started to tell her about my visit she cut me off and started berating me! Calling me a liar, saying she had seen the haircut and it looked great and on and on! She was yelling at me! It was by far the worst customer service experience of my life. Awful. Most staff was kind, but eyelash extensions weren't even used correctly and caused pain and burning. Used prom false lashes with permanent glue adhesive! After getting them taken off immediately at a different wonderful salon, due to the fact that they were too painful and could hardly keep eyes open, we were denied a refund even though we were very respectful, and explained dissatisfaction. Wrong wrong wrong! DO NOT GO HERE! I'm only giving it one star because I have to. read more

Great little spot and I heard they are moving to a bigger location on campus. I got a balayage hair color and a brow wax by AMBER. SHE IS AWESOME! Super friendly and very professional. The results were amazing. Honestly the best brow wax I've ever gotten. Go see Amber! read more

Amber has been doing my hair for the past 7 years. I can not recommend her enough. The new location is a huge step up from the former Lemont location. I assume prices are comparable but I've never been anywhere else in the area. read more
