Let me first start with how picky I am (and nervous) on who I let do my hair. I just moved to the area and had a very difficult time picking a salon. After reading a bunch of reviews I decided to go with Salon Allure & boy am I glad I did. The service is 10/10! Amanda and Patty both did a fabulous job at making me feel welcome and comfortable. They were so friendly and we chatted the hours away, it felt like I was in and out of there! I also wasn't sure on what exactly I wanted to do. I talked to Amanda about what I didn't like about my current hair and she did a perfect job on fixing everything! We ended up going with lowlights and it came out beautiful. I absolutely love it! She also took her time which is always nice rather than someone rushing through because there are more clients. I highly recommend this place and will 100% be back!!!!! read more

I was referred here by a few people and met the ladies previously, but finally hit the day when I swapped over to get my hair done by Lexi. I'll never go to another artist! Lexi was courteous and professional, and the environment here is stunning. It's clean, comfortable, and very chic. When I arrived, a few women were getting their hair cut but the other two stylists greeted me before I even saw Lexi in the main room. The women were so friendly and inviting! Talk about curbing my pre-dye jitters (virgin hair, here!) Even though I showed up 20 minutes early, Lexi was ready to accomodate me. I came for a trim and highlights without a lot of idea on what exactly I wanted. Lexi was perfect: she laid out all my options and made some amazing selections. I was more than impressed with her knowledge of her product and how patient she was while we chose. In the end I took the leap of just letting her choose since I knew she'd know best - and boy, did she! Less than 90 minutes later I walked out with absolutely stunning hair, a perfect trim, and awesome bouncy curls despite the gross rain pre-hurricane. She made perfect selections on color and the highlight color, and I'm so glad I was referred to this cozy salon. I watched Maddison do some serious work on another girl and she came out with a gorgeous transformation - silver and gray highlights with dark undertones, shaved on the sides in an absolutely amazing way. Amanda also did some serious work with highlights and low lights on a client during my stay here. I was thoroughly impressed with how all women commanded their own individual styles and each client's wants and needs. I got my balayage done by Lexi and she did an amazing job! She's by far the best stylist I've ever had. She did exactly what I asked for and my hair came out healthier than before & my husband commented on how beautiful the color is and soft. I went in with ugly copper hair and blonde roots! Lexi did heavy highlights on my hair & let me tell you.. she did amazing! I was hesitant to get my hair professionally done after I had a bad experience a couple years ago at a different salon but I'm glad I convinced myself otherwise! I brought my 9 year old daughter to get her cut and add 2 strips of purple hair. Consider that her hair is up to her shoulders. Maddison charged 95 DOLLARS. Outrageous price. I have asked how much it cost to do partial hair and answer was 110. So for 2 stripes 95. What a deal!!!!!! And the hair cut was OK. So I advise to look at the price list before anything. The price list supposed to be on the table somewhere which I did not see at all !!!! read more

I recently google searched salons in Williamsburg, VA and found Salon Allure listed among the top choices. They did not disappoint. Jennifer is an amazing hair stylist. She cut my hair exactly as I asked her to and frequently checked in, asking me how I felt about it, and if I wanted it to be shorter. I chose to let my hair air dry, so she put some delicious oil in my hair, which left my natural curls silky and smooth. Salon Allure is a beautiful space, clean, bright, and inspiring beauty. I would highly recommend the salon, in general, as well as Jennifer, for her amazing hair stylist abilities and kind, welcoming personality. read more

I saw Lexi for the first time for a trim and to fix up my balayage (I hadn't had my hair done in about ten months!) on a Tuesday night after work - I was very happy to hear she accommodates clients after 5. She was incredibly sweet and friendly, gave me exactly what I asked for (keep the length, bit of a trim, freshen up my highlights and give my thin, flat hair some shape), and everything was done in two hours tops. Prices are also super reasonable. Finally found my new favorite hair stylist in Williamsburg (and I've lived here for about two years now with no luck!). P.S. As I only spend part of the year in Williamsburg, I went to Amanda at Salon Allure for the 2nd time to get a cut. While she was not exactly warm and fuzzy the first time, with a cut that was so-so, she certainly "herded me in and herded me out" the 2nd time! After a rushed and sloppy shampoo, because I "did not specify a shampoo when I scheduled my appointment" (all the salons I've ever been to in the country have your basic shampoo and blow dry included), Amanda sat me down with dripping hair to "listen" to what cut I had in mind. I had an inverted bob in mind, and clearly had the style from a previous salon. As I could not think of the name of the style I explained that I wanted my sides angled toward the back and shorter, but not to thin out my ends too much as my hair tends to turn outward without enough weight at the bottom. Without any further questions by Amanda's to maybe clarify the type of cut, she started cutting and was done in under 15 minutes. It was obvious that she wanted me gone because she did not hand me a mirror, or show me the final result in the back or sides. I paid and even gave her a 20% tip, which I immediately regretted when I got to the parking lot and saw my hair in the car mirror. I am a mature woman, and I ended up with a little Dutch boy, aka bowl cut, that you would not even give to a 3 yr-old. I see many children with more stylish hair cuts than what Amanda gave me! Needless to say, I had to spend more money and time to have the cut corrected by another salon. When a stylist, supposedly the expert on hair, does not even want to take the time to discuss the cut you have in mind, in a rushed atmosphere that borders on rude, I don't think they have the customer in mind. I'm new to the area and was looking for someone to cut and color my hair (which is long and super thick) for my wedding day. As you can imagine, this is a BIG deal and I wanted to make sure I found someone who could get the job done. Lexi is that girl! Booking an appt with her was super easy and so was finding the salon, even though it's tucked away in an office complex. She LISTENED to what I asked for and delivered exactly what I wanted (which is unfortunately not common with the majority of salons I've tried in the past). I asked for an overall darker color with some peeks of red and then an all-over trim. She brought out color samples and let me choose what I preferred. We looked through pictures and discussed my wedding colors and she was very honest and patient with me. I also felt like the whole process was super fast (in an efficient way, not like she was cutting corners). It often takes over 4 hours to do something like this on my hair in the salon but Lexi had colored, washed, dried, cut, AND styled my hair in about 2 hours. We had good conversation and they had good music playing as well. I was also pleasantly surprised with the price and felt like I got an amazing value. She also kept telling me to text her if I need any touch-ups before my wedding day which was really sweet and thoughtful. I highly recommend Lexi and Salon Allure! I WILL be back and I am SO happy with my hair!!! read more
