Looks like I have been coming to Salon Aimee faithfully for the last three years! Aside from the convenient location (within walking distance from home), scheduling an appointment is super easy (I'm usually able to get one within a few days of texting). I send photos of the cut I'm interested in, and we do a quick consultation of how much I want cut off. I am not particular about my hair so I leave it in her capable hands. There is no fuss, no chit-chat (which I like), no upsell -- quick wash, meticulous cut, blow dry and simple styling, and you're done. No more than 45 minutes, while Kpop plays in the background. I will try to remember to bring a magazine next time though! She has her appointments timed to the very minute, so don't be late! (She was finishing up a client as I arrived; another client was parking just as I was leaving.) read more

The hair color turned out okay, but I was really disappointed with the haircut. I specifically told the hairstylist that I'm trying to grow it out, but she thinned it so much with too many layers, and now it's going to take forever to grow back. I don't plan to go back after the first visit. read more

I've been going to Salon Aimee for about 4 years now and Eun always does a great job. I come in roughly every 3-4 months for a perm and she nails it every single time. My first ever perm was actually done here and the results were fantastic. I've been coming back ever since. She does Asian hair extremely well. I get a two-block haircut with a wavy perm on top and she always gets the volume and wave pattern exactly right. The curls come out super natural looking and hold up really well between visits. If you're looking for someone who specializes in Asian hair (especially men's perms), I'd definitely recommend checking her out. read more

Salon Aimee definitely has my seal of approval when it comes to getting a great cut near Waikiki. My partner (who is rather picky) needed a cut quick and despite her busy schedule, Aimee was able to squeeze him in. He showed her a reference photo and she snapped a quick pic of it on her phone and began to work her magic. I think she did a fantastic job and he looked absolutely handsome after the cut! She washed and styled his hair after the cut, which we really appreciated since we were going to a comedy show in Waikiki later that day. There are a few parking spots in front of Salon Aimee, so parking wasn't a hassle for us, but generally, parking this a nightmare in that area. We will definitely be utilizing Salon Aimee for all of our hair needs on the island! read more

I've been searching for a good hairdresser for over a year. Fantastic Sam's suck. Hair cut was so uneven I had to cut it myself. I'm so glad I found Aimee. She is very good. I told her what I wanted done and she did it. She works alone and is very soft spoken. Very very reasonable. Couldn't believe it was so cheap. This was the cheapest I've had to pay in 30 years. read more

OMG! Aimee is amazing! "she is a master for cut. I finally met with the hairstylist today after three months of growing my hair out. She cuts my hair with care rather than rushing through it. The hairdresser spends time with her clients and will make adjustments slowly. You can put your trust in her with your head! read more

Over the past 20 years, my husband and I have been going to the same salon and hairstylist, but during our stay in LA, we received sad news from our hairstylist that her salon was being closed abruptly in January 2023. I panicked because that meant our pre-scheduled January 2023 appointments would be canceled, and we'd have to find another hairstylist within a couple of weeks of our return home. Thanks to the Yelp Projects feature, I submitted a consultation request, and within a day, four of five salons responded. I was impressed by the immediate response times, which allowed me to search for a stylist who could take my husband and me as new clients. I liked the ease of online appointment reservations, the description of services, and the selection of each salon's stylists. Despite the online reservation feature, I decided to call Salon Aimee. Aimee answered after a few rings, and after requesting her availability to cut both of our hair, she gave us appointments for the next day. Since we had a day before our appointments, we decided to look for her salon based on the familiar-sounding address. When we arrived at the listed address on South King St, we found Chong Qing Cuisine, and next door to it was Aloha Donut Company. Luckily, other Yelpers had posted photos of the salon's exterior, so we peeked around the building onto Pāwaa Lane and found the salon and its private parking lot. On the day of our appointments, we entered Aimee's cozy, clean and one-woman salon. She's friendly and asked if I had photos of how I wanted to have my hair styled before we began. I did show her a picture for hairstyle and shape reference knowing that my hair length was shorter than shown on the model. I admitted that I've worn my thick poker-straight hair short, cropped, layered, and as a modified pixie cut for years because I don't spend much time on hair care. Haha, long gone are my days of wearing waist, shoulder, or chin-length hair. I want to wash and go! There wasn't much conversation between us which is okay because I like the stylist to concentrate. I was impressed that Aimee kept on a face mask, as did I, and applied a protective visor on my forehead when cutting my bangs. That visor protected me from getting hair trimmings in my eyes and face. Aimee deftly used both scissors and hair clippers and quickly cut my hair. She completed the haircutting service with a shampoo wash, blow-dry, and style within 35 minutes! I felt that my head felt lighter with this shorter haircut. My husband's turn was next, and Aimee was just as professional, quick, and precise. We were also thankful for the first-time Yelp customer discount, and given that it has only been four days since our haircuts, we're already seeing our haircuts looking less shocking and taking their desired shapes. read more

My wife & I was in need of hair cuts, we called made our appointments, Aimee the owner took us in on time. She is very pleasant, sweet and very fast. She shared that she's has her salon there for 8 years. She did amazing on my hair in which i am more pleased than words can say. My hair is thick and had so much damaged ends. She thinned my hair which honestly I was a little scared because all i could hear was the scissors going crazy but she definitely knows what she's doing with it! I can't even tell you how good my hair feels and looks now!!! I am so happy with how my hair looks now. Aimee's salon is a cute little salon and it's clean, there is also a small parking lot, so parking shouldn't be a problem at all. I will say this...I will definitely be back to see her. Highly recommend!! Thank you so much Aimee!!! read more

Salon Aimee - My fresh haircut by Aimee - Hair Salons Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Great haircut for both my girls. Easy to communicate and it's calm. Not crowded or loud.

Happy I found this small business! Aimee is great when it comes to consulting the style I wanted and also can alterate with options too. Price is moderate compared to other places you can go to.l for haircuts or highlights (depending on type of service you're going in for). Parking is right in the front. Upon arriving to the salon, it's located in a narrow street next to a restaurant. You'll either miss it or drive past by accident, so like everything else, make sure you google map here! Haha. Very family-friendly and Aimee has beverages for you if you need. And the company of k-pop music videos which I really enjoyed : ) It's my second visit here and I did a balayage highlights, deep shampoo clean, and hair cut. read more

My first cut a few months ago was perfect! I was very satisfied. Next time was disappointed, cut was not even and didn't wash my hair but charged the same, no reduction in price. Next time, I told her how my first cut was so nice and wish she would duplicate it, giving her instructions as to how it looked,..no luck. Touched up and trimmed where needed myself when I got home. The end. read more

I was looking for a reputable hair stylist that specializes in Asian hair. The only other hair stylist I really liked was Alan V. who was at Chop back in 2006. The other I went to would literally chop my hair really short. This time I was looking to color my hair and do something different. Salon Aimee is near where I live. The directions from other reviews helped me find her place easily. I also google mapped what the place would look like. The place is small, clean, and atmosphere is open. I liked that it was not crowded. Aimee is amazing, quiet, and made me feel very comfortable. I appreciated that there wasn't any small talk and she answered my questions and let me know she didn't have the exact color in the photo I showed but she had something similar. I trusted her judgement and let her do her thing. I explained that I didn't want to cut it too short and showed her the length. She gave me a mirror and I let her know where to cut. The color was lighter than I expected but it wasn't anything too bright that I felt uncomfortable with. The cut is a little shorter than I wanted but not to short to where I'm cringing. It's definitely different! I have had lowlights done before and I used to box dye my hair. I am happy I chose her! There was a small discount and I bought special color shampoo and conditioner from her. I recommend her and would go back to her again! I think I found my stylist! read more

I have been coming here for a few years now so I think I know enough about this place to write a review. Like many others, I found her via Yelp, and it was a bonus because she was a five minute walk from my old place. For the first year I only got haircuts done here and it was a great price for great work. Plus there is always a light styling done after the cut so I could go on a 'date night'! Recently I have decided to spice it up a little and get my hair highlighted too. The process is the same and the owner is not talkative which is appreciative. Appointment scheduling is easy (text Aimee to schedule quickly) and she is closed on Sundays. She doesn't judge me when I am a little late on my highlight touch ups either. I started sending my grandma here and she really enjoys her hair cuts too. read more

Amy (Eun) moved her Destiny Beauty Salon to a nice, spacious, sunny new spot down the street to 1738 S. King St., behind Hata Restaurant, across from Zippy's & Washington Intermediate. She's still super nice & akamai with all things about hair. Look for her orange sign (photo attached)! read more

I can't describe to you how badly I needed a cut so I scoured Yelp to find Salon Aimee. My curiosity peaked while reading past reviews and felt it was NECESSARY to give her a try. I sent a message through Yelp to inquire about availability, since trying to squeeze in a cut before leaving on a trip. ONE MINUTE later I received a response and within the next 5, I had myself an appointment! Communication through Yelp message was so convenient. The day of my appointment, I received a reminder text with instructions to enter through the back door. Driving directions were a little difficult, as the salon is not at all visible from King Street. I ended up driving around the block twice before I called Aimee for clarification. She described her location as "directly across Zippy's, behind Mama's Dish". Seeing these landmarks, I turned off King Street and found a small parking lot with 3 stalls located next to the "back door", referred to in her text. As I entered the salon, Aimee welcomed me and asked what kind of cut I wanted. It took a few minutes of me trying to describe the style before quickly pulling up some photos of a LOB cut. She also asked if I wanted shampoo, which I declined since I was going home to shower anyway. Surprisingly, she got right to work with the scissors. This was my first experience having my hair cut "dry". It wasn't completely dry, but barely misted and definitely not wet enough to have flattened out the waves from my hair being in a loose bun all day. I'm not gonna lie, I was skeptical and had a feeling that after I showered I would see some long pieces of hair that were not even with the rest and subsequently missed being cut. (UPDATE: I was extremely pleased, my hair was even!) Throughout the cut, Aimee asked if the length was ok and made sure I liked it thus far. She was very soft spoken and came off as a genuinely nice person. For a 3 inch cut, style, payment and photos (for Yelp, of course), I was out of there in 25 minutes. Everything was so fast! FYI: - take a left immediately after Mama's Dish restaurant. The salon and parking are on the left side a few feet after the turn. - communication through text/Yelp message is easiest. - have photos on hand. As with every other salon, you don't want to be surprised, if in case something was miscommunicated. - the salon is currently offering a 10% discount if you check-in on Yelp. Show Aimee your phone when paying. - credit card payments welcomed through the Square App. read more

I was in a dire need of a haircut and am extremely delighted I took a chance on Salon Aimee! Her salon is easy to overlook since it's not facing any main roads but fortunately, I live around this area so I'm very familiar with certain landmarks in the McCully-Mo'ili'ili community. I messaged Aimee through Yelp at around 11:00 at night, thinking I was going to receive a response the next morning but I received an immediate response five minutes later! My experience was already off to a great start with her quick response time and was able to make an appointment with her within a couple of days (super stoked)!!! I went in five minutes before my appointment time to a tidy and modern salon. It looked like Aimee was tidying up since there was no other person inside so I was accommodated immediately, though she did seem confused when I came inside before I told her that I was her 4:30pm appointment. I'm a simple gal when it comes to hair so when she asked me what I wanted, I told her that I wanted a trim and thinning since I was going on a trip the following week. I have thick, straight Asian hair so I NEED to have it thinned whenever I get my hair cut. I appreciated how she didn't go too crazy with the thinning because I have gone to salons where there was almost no hair (metaphorically) on my head so this was a plus for me! I was in and out of the salon within 30 minutes without any small conversations & I prefer that because I hate small talk. Fast and professional, clean environment; what more can you ask for? read more

A great place for the entire family to get a nice, reasonably priced haircut. This was my 7-year-old's second haircut ever. She didn't want to cut her hair which was long and straggly but she was happy with the results --still long, but nicely layered and styled with a flat iron. read more

I desperately needed a haircut and up until now, I had always gone to Supercuts or Fantastic Sams. I wanted to give a salon a try and found this place through a friend's recommendation and did not regret it! Aimee is very sweet and nice. She's soft spoken, but she'll ask you exactly what you want and if you aren't 100% sure yourself she'll look up photos on her phone and help you pick one. She also works really fast but with precision. I just cut off a few inches and layered my hair, so it was nothing too fancy, but I'm really happy with the results. My hair feels a lot better and I love how nice the layers came out. With the 10% yelp discount, I only paid $40, which I think is pretty decently priced compared to the prices I've heard at other salons. To get the salon, just turn left immediately after Mama's Dish on S King st (right across from zippy's) and it'll be on your left. There are 2 stalls in front, but if they're full, there's plenty of street parking along S King st. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. Great haircut and great service - I will definitely be back! read more

I am updating a review of Salon Aimee. She is definitely deserve a 5 Stars. This is not the second time we have used her service, all of us father, mom and son have used her service. Always a 5 stars cut and service. She is very careful and precise when cutting, and yet at the same time she always adhere to CDC guidelines during this pandemic. Her salon is spotless, very clean, and she sanitize all tools she is using. Even at the end of the service, she gave us a pack of hand wipes. What a nice surprise. Will always go back to use her service. read more

Aimee is truly amazing! I have very thick coarse hair that is very unruly. I went in for a cut but she tamed my hair with a needed perm. I was surprised but very pleased with the results. Aimee is super sweet and soft spoken. You need to tell her what you want during your appointment otherwise you'll feel unsatisfied. I found Salon Aimee via Yelp after a not-so-great experience at a different local salon. It's a small shop with a nice, intimate feel. Aimee is very sweet and talented. Eun is an amazing hairstylist! Requested for an undercut and have given photos for reference while making the appointment. Eun is quite attentive to detail and made sure I was okay with everything she's doing. She even asked if I needed to drink water along the way. I have extremely flat straight hair and my hair tends to do whatever it wants to do. At the end, she showed me how I can style my hair and make it more voluminous. I've always wanted to try out a messy/curly wave, but I never got to that point, but I'm happy that Eun showed me the ropes. I'll definitely style my hair often now. The pictures I shared don't give Eun's work justice, but I can tell you now that I'm extremely happy and more confident! I highly recommend! Will be coming back again! read more

Aimee definitely deserves 5 stars for her business. First off, the place is very easy to find with gps and there's convenient parking near the building. It's a cute little salon and the owner, Aimee, was such a sweet woman. Although english was not her first language she did an excellent job on everything. I went in for a trim and some layers since it's been a couple of years since I cut my hair and she knew exactly what to do and what would be best for my hair. Usually, I'm picky about where I get my hair done but I read really good reviews about Aimee so I thought I would check out her salon and I absolutely love the way she cut my hair.
