I have been coming here for over 15 years getting my hair colored and cut by the super amazing and talented top colorist / stylist Suzy. I refer all my clients/brides to her. I've lightened my hair as far as I can remember and I get tons of compliments all the time! My hair NEVER dried out despite all the coloring that has been through. It remained healthy and it shows. They use the best quality hair products, and believe me, you get what you pay for! I still go there even though I moved to NJ from Brooklyn over 7 yrs ago, the trip is well worth it! Rema and the rest of the staff are super sweet and professional. Rema is also a fabulous makeup artist. The salon is beautiful, decor, and always clean. I refer everyone to them! Love Salon 477! Suzy does an amazing job and follows exactly what I've asked for in terms of color and cut. So glad this salon was recommended to me. Let me first say, these last two reviews are from hateful girls all prompted by this animal Aiesha. Complete lies. A disgusting human being in fact I have been in the salon as her and her husband harassed Suzy. Threatening her and she is 7 months pregnant. Suzy and the entire staff at Salon 477 have been like family to me for the past 6 years. A client of Suzy for a total of 14 years. Suzy has always been very accommodating. I have never been denied an appointment. My hair always looks gorgeous. A million compliments on my cut, color and blowouts. I have recommended over 20 people. She so talented always ahead of the latest trends on cuts, color and treatments. My mom has late state Alzheimers she is the only person I trust with my mom. She is gentle and calming. There's 2 things I will drive a long distance for, my hair and food. This place is worth the drive. Suzy really listens and works with you, she puts her attention on your hair. Love their expansion of the salon, doesn't feel so claustrophobic anymore. I will be going back soon. read more

So I spent 5 hours here getting a horrible job, showed the lady the color I wanted she said she could do it, so I trusted her with my hair, but still I was nervous having my color changed with this person, mind u the lighting at this salon is very dim like a spa, so after 5 hrs I got really dark hair horribly looking, called and inform them on how my hair looks and the owner said there's no refund that she could fix it, if u didn't get it right first why would I fell confident in u making me loose my hair and it's not cheap very expensive for a shitty JOB. read more

I've been a loyal customer of salon 477 for 6 years now and truly can not say enough wonderful things about this salon. I've always felt welcomed since my first visit to the salon and Suzie who is also the owner has always been my stylist. She's definitely gifted in what she does! The rest of the staff is just as amazing and sweet! Rema is a truly talented makeup artist and hair stylist. I'm constantly traveling for business and the staff at salon 477 is always willing to accommodate me and my schedule, it's great! I would recommend this salon over and over again! Suzy is a PROfessional! She did an amazing job with my hair and was very efficient in doing so. She was thorough in making sure my layers were even and the tools she used were amazing! I've been to many salons for haircuts however I was very satisfied with what a great job Suzy did! I was in and out of the salon in no time. Absolutely had an excellent experience. I called the day before to book for hair and makeup and drove them crazy because of the constant changes in the booking. The owner and staff, Laila, were accommodating and communicated well while booking, they're we're understanding of my situation. I appreciate how late they allowed my and I to book because we had an important event to attend. Upon walking in the salon is nicely setup, elegant means trendy. My family and I were late but they still took us. We went to the makeup room, it's a private room, which makes you feel like a princess. Rema is beyond nice, funny, I felt like she was my friend for over a decade. She made me feel so comfortable and beautiful Rema did an amazing job with hair and makeup and she doesn't take a long time. All night I got compliments and people asking me where did I go. Absolutely amazing! Went there for me and my little sister, and let me tell you... . As a hijabi, it is hard to find a Salon that has a private room or a barrier. When I told them they said they had a barrier and that they'll put the shades down. it's not a private room but they did what they had to do. I gave them a reference photo for my little sister and it turned out better. For me, I asked for a blowout and I have no words to describe how well my stylist did it. the blowout looked like it was done by a straightener. AMAZING! 1000/10 recommend the girls are so friendly and it's a great community. And not to mention their pricing. For me and my little sister the total was $65. I used to get my hair straightened for $70. It truly is an amazing salon and the pricing and service is unmatched. read more

For the first time in my 17 years of being a hijabi have I ever been treated badly. And, by who? Fellow Muslims at Salon477 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It was not my first or second time at the salon, I've been there before, and each time they would put up a divider around me when I had my hair done. The divider always sufficed and covered me properly. When I showed up for my appointment today, Suzy, the owner, said she can only close the shades for me without putting up the divider because they were "busy." NOONE was in the salon. I reluctantly agreed to closing the shade, but then they only closed ONE. When I asked her to close the other she refused and said people will think she's closed. I asked her if she can respect my hijab and do anything more since I was very visible to the outside, but she refused again. When I asked if she can put the divider she said no because the salon is busy on Saturdays. How will a divider affect anyone? They always put up a divider around me in the past and used every chair in the salon. She said I can come back Tuesday or Wednesday because those are the days she's less busy and can accommodate Hijabis. I am a working mother of four young children. I do not have the luxury of choosing any day of the week to pamper myself. I then grabbed my jacket and said I can't stay if you can't do anything more, without hesitation,she said ok. After I left the salon and drove off, I decided to call back and voice my disappointment. Suzy was suddenly too busy to come to the phone after I mentioned who I was, so I spoke to her employee. I let her know what they did was crappy and that they clearly have no respect for my hijab. When I sarcastically said "thank you for treating me like that," she replied "You're welcome!!!" I decided this experience needs to be shared. Because in this day and age where Muslims are being mistreated by others you would expect fellow Muslims to at least treat each other with respect. But, unfortunately at this salon, that isn't the case. read more

I heard a lot about the salon, I was excited to go there and try a hair cut, to be honest she was professional in her work, she knows what she is doing but she was little rude & busy with her usual customers, by accident she hurt my eye with her finger I didn't hear any sorry because she got frustrated I asked only to dry my hair & to see the front of the hair cut as every salon do when you ask only for a hair cut. read more

I walked into this salon yesterday to get a haircut, color and blow dry. It was my first time getting serviced here, I didn't have an appt, yet Suzy the owner was beyond amazing in explaining and creating a hairstyle that I absolutely love. She's amazing at what she does and I love the fact that she actually listens to her clients and gives her opinions respectfully. I felt very comfortable with her and will definately be going back. So I was looking for Hollywood waves and came across this salons page. I saw the gorgeous work they had done on several people . I needed my hair done for a wedding so I called and booked two appointments one for myself and one for my mother in law. The day we went in, nobody welcomed us as we walked in . It wasn't packed we went in on a Saturday morning . I told Rema what I wanted and showed her a picture. Since the weddin was at five I wanted to clip it with Bobby pins so it wouldn't get ruined . She did that then my mother in law got hers done it was ok... she got her makeup done too it was beyond heavy and Cakey. She did not like it at all . So when it came time to take off the Bobby pins , to my surprise I didn't even get Hollywood waves just a little curl that's all . Looks like I could've saved money and have done it myself ... never again will I spend money in this establishment. read more

Rude, unprofessional, and sloppy. I went there a couple weeks ago.. "The owner" started talking about me like I can't hear her! All because i didn't like the way she did my hair.. she could of simply fixed it. Rather than acted like a high school girl.. Worst haircut ever by Casey and total denial by owner Suzy. Firstly, complete butcher job on 14 year old boy's hair. Uneven on the sides and back. Almost appeared to be a joke that wasn't funny. Here is the bigger problem.... Large cut on the back of the neck by the razor. This was late Friday 9/25/15. Today 9/26 called and spoke with owner Suzy who first said she did not see the hair/neck when he left because she was busy. Then she said he did not walk out of her place with the cut and it did not happen here. So from not seeing the finished haircut, Suzy has decided to totally deny all. Obviously not a very good business person and not the right way to treat any customer. Suzy and Salon 477 you fail!! read more
