I'll be up front in writing this review. I purchased the Groupon deal for the full highlights and blowout well before I read the Yelp reviews. After my purchase I thought "Dang, I should probably look them up." and as soon as I did my anxiety kicked into overdrive because of the negative reviews below. For context, nearly 3 years ago I had a horrible salon experience that left me with what were, essentially, race-car stripe highlights; brassy and awful and the process to fix my hair resulted in losing about 7 inches of my length. I was devastated, cried a lot, and swore I'd never let my hair be butchered again. So, that being said, I e-mailed the salon after booking my appointment to ask for a portfolio of the person who would be doing my hair and they told me to call. I called and spoke with the salon manager on duty and expressed my fears and asked if I could upgrade to a senior stylist with my Groupon and pay the difference. They agreed because they said it was important that I would leave happy and without the horrible hair I was imagining in my head (note: I was already relegating myself to a six month hiatus for life and investment in beanie caps). I appreciated that they made this exception for me because they knew I was feeling some type of way about it. I arrived today for my appointment and Patricia was nothing short of amazing. She was on time, she listened to my anxieties, looked at the photo of what I was going for, made sure the highlights were bright, blonde, not brassy, and gave me an excellent (much needed) trim to clean up my ends and bangs. I paid for the trim and the Olaplex treatment I received outside of the highlights but this is nothing new - every salon charges extra for those things and I was more than happy to pay for them. Overall I'm super happy with my experience. My highlights aren't rooted (meaning, Patricia gradiated them so that they will grow out a bit more natural looking) and my hair is healthy and soft. Patricia is a gosh darn gem. She was sweet, understanding, warm, and I will absolutely be back to see her again (and again). If you're neurotic like me and worried about everything from global warming to whether or not you'll have to shave your head as a result of a terrible hair experience - fear not in coming here. I was in need of an amazing haircut, color and wash. I found this place on Groupon. Yes the reviews for Groupon users isn't great but don't let that discourage you from coming in. And Patricia isn't the mean Queen she's been Refered to on online reviews. She's a very knowledgeable, thoughtful and caring person. Yes I was worried too, because I didn't read reviews before buying but when I came in, she's worked with me and made me feel at ease. Groupon or not, I was going to leave feeling and looking absolutely beautiful. She's gave me tips on how to treat my hair and didn't overcharge me. I know there's a lot of reviews that will make you worried that you will be ripped off, but it was honestly the opposite for me and my friend who also got a haircut and color from Voiletta. If you want a great cut, wash, color and style this is the right place. It's comfortable and cozy, atmosphere is up to date and stylish. MEN STAY AWAY!!! I would give zero if I could. If you are a guy stay away from this place. They do not have the equipment to cut a mens hair. My wife got a couples Groupon. Who ever scheduled us did it with their "Senior Stylist". Lady walks in and when we said we have Groupon she goes "I am a SENIOR STYLIST I dont do Groupons". She pointed us to the junior. Junior is missing clips to cut mens hair. She couldn't even shape the back of my head it was all over the place. She cut my hair in less than 5 mins with one single clipper. I asked her aren't you going to blend with a bigger clip she goes nope its all done. I get home and washed my hair guess what I had to go get another haircut. read more

I had to wait 25 minutes after my appointment time before being seen by Patricia. Not sure, but maybe she overbooked. Once I was seen, I felt like she started to cut very quickly and cut too much from one side. So the right side is shorter by 1in than the left... With a sad feeling giving this place 2 stars and not coming back. Pros: easy to schedule. Convenient parking. Cons: 1. Was not offered to wash hair. When asked - was suggested to do it at home. Hmm.. Ok. Moving on. 2. Got a trimmer cut. 12 mins in-and-out (13 mins including payment). At some point started wondering whether the place has scissors. The stylist took it out at the end and worked with them hmm... twice. Not bad indeed - why would you want to work with scissors if you can do the job using a trimmer much faster. 3. Felt constantly pushed to answer "I am happy". I know it is subjective, but this is how I felt when kept being asked "are you happy?". 4. Felt pushed to leave 5-stars. Got asked few times to do that at least. Advice to #Patricia and #owners - if you do trimmer cuts, could you please call it as such instead of calling your place a "salon" and charge $39 for this "job"? This way there would be no misunderstanding. Bottom line - do not visit this place if you are in need for a stylish hair cut and do not want to feel you have been duped. read more

Highlights super chunky and striped and randomly placed. Went back to get fixed to add more highlights and she bleached half my head missing areas In the front instead of adding more highlights to even out the dark stripes. Would not blow dry to show me what it looked like . Double booked me both times so she was going from me to another person. Will not go back salon 469. Now hair falling out. read more

I found Salon 569 via Groupon and decided to call before I purchased it. I wanted highlights the next day but did not expect to get that lucky. On the phone, they were disorganized and said they had a full schedule. I told them that I would call them back with some other availability. Instead, they called me back 2 minutes later and decided to fit me in. They also told me not to buy the Groupon - that they would honor the Groupon price at the salon. The next morning, they confirmed the appt via text to which I confirmed, too. When I arrived on time, they told me that they were too busy, that some stylists had left for the day due to Corona. If true, this would be unacceptable to me, as they had confirmed and nobody contacted me later with a cancelation. Turns out, my assigned stylist was still there and they decided to honor the appt. Lucky me?? Once I sat down, the stylist and I discussed whether to do 1/2 or whole head of highlights. I asked her how much it would be. She had no idea. She also insisted that I needed a glaze for an additional $45. In my experience, a glaze is always included with highlights. It's part of the process. I was getting aggravated. It felt like a bait and switch. Before we began the process, I asked how much the highlights and glaze would be. Nobody could answer the question. The stylist tried to then talk me into doing less highlights, etc. The whole experience was so inappropriate in public. If I wanted to spend $150-$200 for highlights, I would not be using a Groupon. But more than that, I was not going to be fooled or shamed into spending whatever they wanted to charge me. I could go on, but I won't. I'm sure the place is good. The business practice, however, is questionable. I called this morning for an appointment Wednesday and was told the person who books Wednesday appointments is out and to call Tuesday. Why have different people in charge of different days? Additionally, why not have the person backing up trained and available to book them? TL;DR : getting an appointment is a bizarre process with little business sense. People are unlikely to know what day to call to book an appointment. Giving two stars to balance out that the hair service (if you get that far) is likely good based on reviews and benefit of the doubt. read more

This place is awesome. I came in with a Groupon for a full head of highlights, hair cut, and blow dry. I mis-remembered the appointment time and came in at 1:15 - instead of the 11:15 appointment time. I was convinced that the appointment was at 1:15, and it was only when I got home that I checked my planner and realized I had completely messed up the appointment time. Violetta and the people at the front desk never made me feel bad or even at-fault for missing the appointment time, and she still somehow gave me an amazing set of platinum highlights, a great haircut, and a glaze all in a little over an hour. I have paid a lot more for hair that took a lot longer to finish that didn't look half as good. Thank you guys for an amazing haircut and for being so gracious and understanding when the appointment mishap was clearly my fault. Everyone at this salon was extremely friendly, and my hair still looks amazing. Overall - stay away & save yourself the headache. I originally found the salon on groupon and before yesterday I've been there 3 times with Patricia for an average/decent haircut. Each time I've had an appointment I've had an issue - they've ended up calling me to reschedule the day of; i showed up and they had me scheduled for a different day (which was not the appointment I made) or had me wait over an hour. I also always see someone else there having an issue or argument when I'm there and the staff always teams up and makes it seem like the customer is wrong - solid business practices. Yesterday I asked if they were able to turn me silver and i said if they weren't it's ok I'll just do a haircut. Patricia said she could do it. Before we started I said I had a groupon but I will pay extra if I have to to get the look as long as it comes out good. It didn't come out good. My head was all different shades - white, silver, brown and all different shades of blonde/yellow. She tried reapplying the toner which helped a little but still all different colors. She insisted that she achieved the look in the picture i had showed her (all silver - last pic posted) and after I told her I looked like a cheetah and couldn't walk around like that and would prefer she just cover it to my natural color (light brown). She agreed. As I was sitting with what I thought was dye in my hair (4 hours after arriving) she said this glaze would be beautiful- that I would have a sunkissed look with lots of natural looking highlights- *not at any point what I asked for* Also NOT her covering it back to my natural color like she said she was - but at this point I had already cried in the chair and missed out on hanging with my son the whole day and wanted to go home. My hair is awful. It looks like a fake light brown/blonde with uneven 'natural' highlights- one side of my head looks blonde and one side looks like ashe. I'm putting up some pics - none of which look like solid silver or solid light brown I will now have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Insult to injury- she called me when I got home (I thought it was to apologize) it was to give me a speech about how small businesses don't appreciate when you buy a groupon bc groupon gets 50% of what you pay --- after I paid $80 on groupon, $50 for a glaze I didn't want & tip - not including what I will have to pay to fix this hot mess. Also - Patricia, then you shouldn't be on Groupon. Tell your receptionist to be present when she's on the phone making appointments and more than one person I know has stopped coming to your salon bc of how nasty Carla is. Good luck to you. I came here after seeing it on Groupon. Marina cut my hair and highlighted it. I have to say, I have NEVER gotten so many compliments on my hair!! She did such an amazing job!! I was having a pretty bad day when I came for my haircut and everything about my experience there cheered me up! The women who work there are very friendly and professional, the salon is very clean and nicely decorated. I loved Marina! I felt like she really cared about my hair and took extra care to help the dryness. I've gone to many other salons that I've found on groupon and I never felt like they cared about actually helping the quality of my hair bc I was paying such a discounted price. My daughter had a 9am app to get her hair cut & straightened. When we got to the salon, it was closed. A lady showed up 30 minutes later explaining that she forgot her keys & we had to wait for someone else to arrive and unlock the doors. The app. started 1hr later. The stylist didn't even do her hair because she was running behind and had other clients. Also, we were charged extra because they decided that my daughters hair was curly for the regular price! Terrible hair cut I got from Marina, I'm sorry but it just looks so ugly, is uneven and the middle part of my hair is shorter than the rest and I have long pieces of hair in random spots. I purchased a Groupon to find a new salon for regular highlights. I alerted both the scheduler at Salon 469 in Greenwich CT when booked the appointment and the stylist, Violetta, when I arrived, on time for my 1:30 appointment that I was using a Groupon. Violetta was immediately unfriendly and said it would be "a few minutes as her regular client arrived late." She made no attempt to apologize for the inconvenience or update me as "a few minutes" turned into :35 min. I decided to pull the plug on this terrible customer experience as there was no way that I would return. When I let Violetta know that I was leaving, she said "it will only be another 5 minutes," which was clearing not the case. Again, no apology for the inconvenience. Advice to businesses: Do not offer Groupons if you are not interested in auditioning for a regular, loyal customer. By the way, I now get monthly facials from a salon that I tried on Groupon and referred two of my closest friends. Also, the salon where I took my young son for a haircut 14 years again with a Groupon, is still cutting his hair as he prepared to go off to college. Big miss Salon 469. I went in for full highlights/haircut/blow dry and asked for an ashy blonde color (I had pics of what I wanted, which the hairdresser Violetta refused to look at and stated "just trust me") but after sitting with the the dye in my hair for over 1hr (while she started on 2 other customers) my hair color turned out white, and yellow with orange roots, yes ORANGE, roots. When I asked her why exactly my hair was 4 different colors, non of which happen to be the one I actually wanted, and to please not touch me again, she defensively snapped at me telling me it was my fault because I was "moving too much" and "touching them" (untrue). I was very offended to be blamed for her mistake. I spent a total of 5 hrs in that salon and I ultimately walked out of there in tears with soaking wet 4 different colored hair, no haircut, or blowdry (which I paid for) because I was so defeated and desperate to go home after the owner, Patricia, attempted to salvage my hair for 2 hours to no avail using 5-6 different products. read more

Bulldozer service lacking hospitality alongside mediocre everything. A friend and I recently came in to get our haircut and colored. We were immediately met with aggressive and downcast attitudes following our presentation of our Groupon receipts. Hospitality 101 fails here. $200 later in addition to the Groupon payment my hair looked like it was colored by a colorist in training on their first day. Again another amazing job by Patricia. This time went in for the brazilian blowout, and it turned out AMAZING. My hair is naturally curly, puffy, frizzy. I also have highlights. The brazilian didn't change my color, just made it look brighter and more amazing, and it made my hair air dry straight with the slightest waves. I have my dream hair now!!! Horrible! I was given a price during the initial consultation. I was getting a cut and highlights, after the stylist started applying bleach she casually asked if I wanted "gray coverage". Obviously I'd want that. Never have I had my hair highlighted and the stylist ask that, it's a given. She then said that the price would go up. She added an extra $95 after the original price. Received a Brazilian blowout keratin treatment from Patricia on Friday. I washed my hair for the first time on Sunday and it came out PHENOMENAL! I have very curly, bleached blonde hair and my hair feels so healthy and amazing. I was able to blow dry it on the lighter setting to a completely straight and frizz free style which I am NEVER able to do. 100% will be returning to the salon for additional services. Luckily for me the owner, Patricia was in the salon when the Latina woman who was taking care of me after I had a purchased a "highlight, haircut and blow dry" gave me bright white highlights against my very brown hair. Nine months later, I finally made an appointment for a color with Patricia. Gosh, I wish I had come sooner! I briefly told her what I wanted. I could instantly tell that Patricia was very knowledgeable, which made me trust her instantly. Patricia was very clear about what color would be best for me and suggested using simply organic, which is completely chemical free. She said the color would be natural, shiny, long lasting and my hair would not have that "colored feel" to it. Patricia delivered everything she promised, the results were everything I hoped for and more! My hair looks like my natural color before I got greys except better, it looks like it has subtle highlights, it's shiny and silky to the touch. I could not be happier with the results.
