This was my first time going to salon 14 and I booked an appointment with Tanya. I was in for highlights, lowlights, and a trim. She did everything how I asked and I left the salon loving my hair. I definitely recommend this salon for blondes because it's so hard to find a hairstylist who does blonde right. read more

I scheduled an appointment with Tanya Bayas for November 23 at 9am weeks in advance. Not only did she try to move me to 5:30pm the day before, she booked appointments on top of mine. She spent 7 hours on my hair and what I ended up with were extensions that did not match the rest of my hair, extensions that were put in unprofessionally exhibiting malpractice, yellow streaks, an inflamed scalp and she singed my bangs halfway off. I called to get this resolved and in speaking with Tanya she insulted me and hung up on me. I will be reporting her to the state but for now my best advice is that you never step foot in her salon. read more

I'm so glad to find an affordable salon so close to where I live! I had my nails filled today and Michelle did a fabulous job....the thickness and shape are natural looking and she didn't hurt me once. She is very gentle and detailed. I will be going back for the $15 pedicure for my daughter and I. Update: I continue to get my nails done here. Went here for color toning for my balayage (balaye was done by someone else) from Tanya the owner,it was my first time here. However, she does not have professional training and enough experience to work by herself. She does NOT know the basics of colors. She turned my hair to blue. According to her, she was making my color more vibrant. Being a person who gets hair color/toning/balayage so frequently this is the first ever absolutely gone wrong experience. She keeps assuring she knows what she is doing, which is infact very unethical and wrong. She bleached the life out of my healthy hair to get the blue color out that she deposited due to her lack of knowledge. I had to get color correction from another experienced hairdresser. However,Tanya have caused enough damage to my hair after back to back bleaching and then coloring to fix the wrong color. My balayage is gone after her 4 times of bleaching to get rid of the blue color from my hair. I had 10 different colors in my hair. To get it correct and have my balayage again is impossible! She really burned my hair and scalp. Please save your time, money, hair and mental health. Go to some one who has experience and knows what they are doing. She does brag alot about how amazing she is and how she knows more then anyone. Infact, it's all a lie. I give ZERO stars, Tanya should really take a break and stop ruining people's hair and get some training .. or move to another venture. She does not have the required talent, experience and expertise period read more

Am a repeat customer to this place and cant recommend them enough! Both the hair stylists I have been to here have a great deal of patience! As a person with quite some hair to manage, they take the time to give a hair cut as per my request and style it to look it's best after!! The prices are very reasonable for the amount of work they have to do with my hair. The staff are very personable. I'd just make sure to call in advance to have an appointment. They can be over booked at times. So, having an appointment always helps. I definitely plan to go back there again! read more

I really liked her a lot but won't be back. Double booked twice and yesterday she rescheduled me 3 times in one morning. She doesn't like it when people are late to their appointments --which I understand, but doesn't seem to be able to extend the same courtesy to clients. Months ago, I was stuck behind a train one day and arrived 10 min late. I voluntarily gave her $15 extra as an apology because she was not happy about it. I felt terrible and understood. If someone is a stickler about their own time, you would hope they would be respectful of yours as well. Unfortunately, I can't spend all day waiting for a haircut, or re-parking in a pain-in-the-butt parking garage 3 times in one morning when there are so many other places to go in town. When I arrived I was booked on top of other people and felt like she was annoyed that I was even there. She said she was eager to leave early that day, and her first question was whether or not I was still with my partner, but the way she said it was pretty blunt. I paid full price for the haircut and still gave my standard tip. I really tried to be a good client and would tip between 50%-100% every time. When someone is completely ok with wasting hours of my time it makes me feel like they do not value me as a client at all. She gives good haircuts and she's very nice to people of all stripes generally so she gets points for that. However, I won't be back to this salon unfortunately. Makes me sad to have to post this review I really did like her a lot. Hopefully she will see this review as an opportunity to do better for her other clients in the future. read more

I visited around early October. I asked the lady to trim my hair and remove split ends. Was surprised there was no blow dry after my hair cut. The hair cut felt rushed cause there was already another customer waiting. And will not be returning back. read more

This review is based off of the new owners of Salon 14 as of a month ago: Michelle sold the salon and it is now under new management. Diane was my absolute favorite and she no longer works there as well. Knowing this, I still decided to give the new management a fair try and get my usual shellac manicure. The new owners now charge $30 for a shellac manicure, as opposed to the $25 is was before and did not do a good job. (See Photos, this manicure was done within the last 24 hours of posting review) My cuticles look horrible and the paint job was sub-par. The only real positive was that the staff was friendly. I hate writing reviews like this, but unfortunately, I will not be returning to my favorite little salon in Orenco Station. read more

I got a last minute haircut from Tanya last year. She did an amazing job. Maybe not quite as dramatic as I was looking for but I hadn't seen her before and I'm definitely not upset it was a tad reserved. I have long, thick hair which we chopped some layers in to. She was efficient, easy going and I was very satisfied. I immediately decided this was my new go to place for the few times I do get a cut. Honestly, I don't find that often at all. I'll likely add color next time and update when I do! read more

Appointments are to stick with it and I had to wait for 20 minutes. I felt like my whole haircut was done in a hurry and didn't get the style I asked for. She cut my hair too short. I'm very disappointed it will take a longer time for me to grow back and get a proper cut. read more

Booked an appointment, but when I showed up, the stylist had no idea. Tanya said she was "running behind" and asked if I could come back the next day-- no thanks, I'll find somewhere that won't waste my time. Looking through the Google reviews, it looks like this is a regular occurrence. I'm a stylist myself; don't use an online booking system if you can't utilize it properly! read more

I went here at 4:30 with my roommate. We had appointments for shellac manicures. Strangely, there was only one nail technician for two of us so she had to do our nails one person at a time. My roommate went first and while I waited I had complimentary tea, and my choice of netflix to watch! That was pretty cool I must admit. On to my nails--the nail technician did a beautiful job. She listened to what I wanted exactly and made sure I was happy with the design. Towards the end, two people came in for hair cuts so she rushingly gave my roommate and I not even a 30 second massage. That I was not pleased with, but luckily my nails were perfect so I guess that compensates for the lacking "spa" type experience. I will definitely come back, hopefully on a day when the nail technician can focus her attention on just me. This Salon also has waxing services which I will want to try in the future. read more

Great experience! I went in for a new full acrylic set because several of my nails broke. I liked that she took her time soaking and shaving off my old nails instead of yanking them off, like other salons have done to me. She offered me a drink and put on the TV so that I was occupied while she did her work. Try to call ahead of time to make an appointment instead of walking in because they might have a booked schedule already. I'd recommend! read more

I had highlights done at this place 3 times in the past several years. The first time, I came with the idea to do blond highlights, but Tanya tried to convince me to do a color that was closer to my natural color. I was in a mood to experiment, so I was kind of open to her suggestion; therefore, I could not judge her too much when the "highlights" were basically not visible, and my husband as well could not distinguish something particularly new with my hair... The second time, I was very firm with blond, and I got what I wanted, but the price in the end was higher than expected. The third time, which was last week, I established the price from the begnning and I showed her the highlight color that I wanted as it was visible at the lower half of my hair. The result was a "highlight" color that was very similar with my natural hair color as the first time. When I told her that I did not see any highlights, she gave me a sort of stylist talk, explaining to me that what I wanted would be a different service. Really...? I am not a quarreling person, so I payed and left, but I am always puzzled to discover people who are lowering themselves as much as to go for fast money, doing cheaper services and getting bigger profits, instead of focusing on enriching communities and having customers returning over and over. I definitely do not recommend this stylist. It was my last time at this place. read more

I really cannot recommend Tanya enough! It had been years (seriously) since I'd had my hair cut, due to a combination of having a new baby and borderline PTSD from previous experiences at salons. Tanya made me feel comfortable right from the start. She told me what she thought would look good on me, and it was exactly what I had been thinking myself. A glorious shampoo, great cut, and a blow dry later and I feel like a completely different person. I've already scheduled a visit to come back for a color and I will never go anywhere else again! Thank you, Tanya! read more

No one showed for the appointment. I was standing outside for 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and called several times with no answer. A bit disappointed because I was looking for the cut that day. read more

The first time I went in, I received a great cut! She said she had to cut it short to fix another person's previous cut. Okay, so I went with it. The following times I went in, the cuts were okay, and she kept cutting my hair short, even though I decided to grow it out and she was well aware of this. This last time, I hadn't seen her since late 2019 due to Covid. My hair was longer, and it needed a cut desperately. She had enough to work with this time. She proceeded to cut it short again, and the cut wasn't really good. I could have gotten the same at supercuts. I definitely won't be going back. I think she favorites her high end hair customers, because that's what she talks about most of the time. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want consistency, and a nice hair cut. For $50 plus a 20% tip, I didn't get much. Pretty disappointed. read more

My brother came here to get his hair dyed maroon and I got my nails painted. Both of us couldn't have been happier with the results. The stylist was very well-informed and experienced with dying Asian hair which is thick and hard to dye. My brother is very happy with how his hair turned out--deep maroon highlights that really compliment his complexion. My shellac nails have lasted over 2 weeks of abuse (I work as a waitress and am constantly doing things with my hands) and still look great! Would definitely recommend Salon 14 for both hair and nails. The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. read more

New owners = higher prices for lesser services. I'd been going there for 2 years getting great pedicures. I showed up today to find new owners. I wish I'd known and read the other reviews since there isn't one good review of the new owners. I asked if they had the same prices for same services. She said yes, the pedicure is still $30. I told her I'd been paying $25 for the past two years for pedicures that included paraffin wax treatment, sugar scrub and massage. She said that was all included but was $30 and tried to convince me that was what the price was before like I didn't know what I was paying. She also insisted they were keeping all prices the same but for the men's cuts but the other reviews make it clear they've raised prices across the board. The pedicure was okay, but it didn't include the sugar scrub or wax treatment and the massage was the shortest I've ever received there. When I pointed out they hadn't done the wax they told me they were out of wax. What?!?! I specifically asked for it before we started. They said they'd reduce the price to $25....thanks I guess for giving me the price I had for two years that used to include so much more. To add insult to injury they both then kept talking about how the wax was the most important part because it ensured your feet would stay so soft. What???!?!? Is this even happening? You are now going on and on about how great the service is that I said I wanted and you guaranteed would be included and now I don't get to have. If you like the old Salon you'll be sad about the new owners. If you know where Michelle went please let me know as I'm now looking for a new Salon. The new owners have been there less than a couple of months, so any reviews from 2016 or earlier are for better more affordable services. read more

I could not be happier with Salon 14. I've had excellent pedicures here and each time I was just a walk in and they went out of their way to fit me in. Today I wanted a full set of pink and whites to set off my new engagement ring. They even added a silver line to really show the sparkle. You will be treated with kindness and care here. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Sad to say I never had an appointment at this Salon due to the actual Owner was the one who stood me up! I called the day before and spoke to her personally on the phone, explained that I've been looking for a experienced hairstylist who can do a specific hair cut for me. She complied and told me she had many years of experience and was actually the owner of Salon 14. She took down my name and phone number, we chose a time for my appointment for the next day which was Saturday May 22nd at 10am. Everything was great, except when I showed up at the shop the next day. I drove by and noticed it was dark inside the salon. I admit I had to find parking a block down as its a popular area, so I was no more than 5 mins late. Because of that I was quite ready to apologize. But when I got there the shop was still closed! The lights inside was turned off, no one was inside. I called and it went straight to the shop's voicemail. I then waited 15 mins then called a 2nd time, straight to the voicemail again. Thinking I should give her the benefit of the doubt in case she was stuck in traffic, idk? Finally after waiting 30 mins outside this closed shop I realized that this person, this shop owner definitely did not care about her new client nor did she care for customer service or my money. In a pandemic like this, I figured she like to get every penny she could to save her shop. Maybe not!? I finally left her a lengthy voicemail stating how unprofessional it was that we just had this conversation the day before and she is not here at the shop like the time I had confirmed with her on the phone. Her hours are stated on her shop door that she opens at 10am. Yet she's not there. I told her as a first time client, it would be my last and I would appreciate an apology or just an explanation as to why she stood me up. She could've said she over slept or something. I left my name and phone number and still she has not called me to apologize! No call, no explanation, which means to me she did it on purpose! Who does that! This kind of person DOES NOT VALUE your money and time! I read a lot of reviews and gave her the benefit of the doubt because she was so nice on the phone. But I should've listened to the other 2 reviews that said she also stood them up for their appointments as they waited outside and she never showed up or called to apologize to those clients either. Please do not go to this salon, this shop owner clearly does not want your money! I rather not give her any stars, she clearly deserves a -0! read more

As much as love sharing my opinions and awesome finds, sometimes there are some places I'd rather keep secret. This is one of those little gems, but they've been so great to me I have to show 'em some yelp love. I've been here a handful of times. I'm generally not super girly, and I wear rubber gloves all day so it's kind of a moot point to have fancy nails. However, I happen to have the inside knowledge that an engagement ring is coming my way, and well I have to sport some pretties for that basic cliche "I said yes!" social media photo. I decided to come back to Salon 14, because they did such an amazing job the last time I came in with some jacked up acrylics that were coming off after 3 days from a different salon. They didn't disappoint this time either! I called ahead by a few hours and scheduled an appointment at 5. They weren't busy or overwhelmed like some places you go, and I was the primary focus for the lady helping me. You're always offered a beverage, and you can watch a plethora of netflix shows while you sit. And if you're special, sometimes they'll let you control the remote! The conversation isn't forced, and it's not awkward. These ladies don't rush, they really take their time and put in the work. I get the pink and white set, I just think they look great and I always get compliments on them. This time we did sparkles in the white, and a little silver enhancement for the holiday season. She actually gave me the extras for free, generally $3. I find everyone here to be really friendly, and they seem to enjoy each other and what they do. I also got an eyebrow wax, only $10 and pretty painless. It's a small salon, and the parking is sparse at times, but it is off the max line and there are tons of places around to grab a drink or some vittles before or after! read more

Had my first haircut after a long time and it was perfect! Great service and amazing tips provided by the stylist to improve hair texture!

So appreciate Salon 14's staff, expertise, and prices. They have wonderful attention to detail, and are always professional and kind. The pricing is reasonable and their location is in a great area; and it's fairly easy to find. If you are searching for a great Salon that does awesome Hair Cuts/Styles, Manicures, Pedicures, and Waxing, this is the place!! The Manager-'Michelle' is very accommodating, and 'Ha' always does stellar Mani/Pedi's & Hair Cuts. Everyone on staff "goes the extra mile" when serving their Customers! My Friend(s) and I are extremely spoiled now. :-) Just can't imagine going to a different Salon. There are other Salon's around, and some even nearby to Salon 14, but don't make the mistake of spending your hard earned $$ elsewhere. None of those other Salons compare.
