To me it…read morefelt disorganized, not singular focused, and I felt the person that said "I need help" the most, one person in particular who showed up late twice barked the loudest and she received the majority "one-on-one" help. She really needed a private class that could work with her schedule. I was so frustrated that I did not come back for the last two classes. I went to pick up my projects and could not find one of them. No explanation just gone. When teaching a class I have found it works best when everyone is working on the SAME project, and the instructor has examples in stages to show and tell them while doing a walk around checking in with students while the class is working on the SAME project/item. This was not the case everyone was all over the place and there really was no organization to the class plus we did not follow what was stated in the class notes. I feel it was poorly organized, lack of instruction and follow-through. Rebecca was our instructor, she is a kind and thoughtful person who is very knowledgeable, and I think if she changed a few things she could make the classes fantastic. This was a beginner's class, so I sincerely feel they need to be more structured and supervised (walkaround). I would like to note that my mother, husband and I all took the class, and this sentiment was felt by all. To be truthful, due to my experience with this first class I will not be taking another class, sorry but that is how I feel. I took this class to gain some rudimentary techniques, relax, and spend some time with family but instead left with two classes to go due to anxiety and learning NOT MUCH to NOTHING! I am not someone who gives up easily but I felt the frustration and anxiety simply was NOT worth the gain or lack there of.

I've always wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine, and she lets you bring your own or use one of hers to learn on. She was very helpful and patient with us! I learned a lot and thought the class was really informative. We each left with our own apron that we made in the class, and a better understanding of our machines. Today I finished Needles and Knots' introductory sewing course and must say I really enjoyed it and…read morelearned a lot! I came into this class pretty much knowing nothing (I had gotten my sewing machine a few months prior and took weeks to get it threaded. When I went to sew the thread bunched up and I gave up!). Shauna was patient with all of our questions and answered thoroughly. I loved the casual feel of the class, I didn't feel pressured to do things perfectly and overall the mood was relaxed. There were four other students in the class and we all laughed together and learned from one another. The classes were once a week for three weeks. We were provided with tools like scissors, pins, bobbins, etc (you can even borrow a sewing machine though it's best to bring your own so you can familiarize yourself with the machine you'll be using outside of class; fabric was not provided). Mondays are "drop in" days where anyone can come in and see - I'm looking forward to checking that out one day! Finished today's class with a beautiful apron that I am SO excited to use. There are classes for all levels, they have one time classes and workshops, they sell glazes and will do outside firing by the pound. Everyone is helpful. This location is accessible 24 hours a day. Tucked inside, MAST features beautifully handcrafted jewelry and other items. When we walked in, we were immediately welcomed. The store was busy and filled with so many uniquely crafted items. From bracelets, earrings, and rings to essential oils and candles (just to name a few), MAST offers something for everyone. What I thought was neat about MAST is that the items are clearly labeled and information about the artist is available. All of the items are made locally here in Tucson by women. Women who clearly know and understand what women want. I had a very hard time deciding on what to purchase but ended up with a unique silver ring with a Ruby surrounded by gold made by Sophie. I also really liked the horseshoe charm earrings and the bohemian styles. MAST definitely has that special something for someone who is truly unique.

This is a small owner business and I really wanted to support them. They have a lot of variety of…read moretalavera pottery to choose from. At a cursory glance the prices were better here than a lot of online businesses. I was looking for talavera address tiles and a holder. The shop has a great selection of numbered tiles but unfortunately they didn't have a high contrasty one I was looking for, but they did have the metal holders which I also needed. I bought the tiles from a different local store. Tip 1: Don't make the same mistake I made. If you buy them from somewhere else, bring them all in to try in the frame. That's because, the sizes and shapes of both the tiles and the holders are asymmetrical and it's a matter of trying to get the best fit. The lady that owns the store is very nice and helpful and will these things to you. Tip 2: Make sure you absolutely love what you are getting because once you buy it there are exchanges or store credit, no refunds. Tip 3: The opening and closing hours are not strictly adhered. I waited twice outside the store, once at opening and once 20 min after opening time and the store was not open. Reading other reviews I'm not the only person this happened too. It's the same with closing time. They may close up early. I would suggest calling ahead first so you don't waste your time driving like I did. This is the only reason I'm taking one star off.
