We were looking for a place to have a Sunday roast near a particular area and The Phoenix came up…read more We made reservations and upon arrival we were sent upstairs where our roast was served. As most pubs in London, this place was beautiful and charming. We had a great time and a great Sunday Roast. A couple of us had the beef, a couple had the vegetarian version and another had the chicken. All were good except we all thought the Yorkshire Pudding left something to be desired. It was hard and not tasty. I expected it to be fresh and light like the others I've had over the years. We loved the maple carrots and the cheesy cauliflower as well. The biggest surprise of the visit was the unexpected and very cool magic by Marius, who we thought was just a staff member. But he also a pretty good magician. He showed us several card and coin tricks that were done tastefully and remarkably well. This man is a compliment to The Phoenix. I would return here again. You should try it as well.

Staff is very friendly and I love how you can actually see them marinate and cook the fish. You could tell ingredients are fresh! The menu also isn't as extensive as the other food trucks; just two main items and three sides. I really really wish I ordered the Cajun fries!!! I got The Proud Boy and it was blackened white fish, with a garlic white sauce, juice of lemon, cole slaw, green onions, and a choice of jalapeños. It wasn't fishy at all; flavors were excellent!

As an American living in London, I'm always on the lookout to find some delicious food from the…read morecountry of my birth. So when I saw Hank's was going to be with Kerb at UCL, I knew I had to give it a try. In all honesty, I've never been to New Orleans in my life. It's on my list, okay? But I've had Cajun food, and what I've had I've enjoyed. There were two Po' Boy sandwiches on offer when I was there: The Poor Boy (Beef with slaw and horseradish mayonnaise) and Chaurice, sauce and cheese (Chaurice sausage meatballs with tomato sauce and cheese). I opted for The Poor Boy. I saw them making it, and it looked amazing. They then asked me if I wanted hot sauce and chilies? Oh yes please, make it spicy! I couldn't wait to eat it. And it was as good as it looked. Spicy, meaty and rich with crunchy slaw and toasty, warm bread. It was even quite messy, but I didn't care. I just wanted the whole thing. And now, writing this review, I want to go back and immediately get another one. Or the sausage meatballs. Because it was that good. I'm gonna keep an eye out for Hank's. Their website says they do a variety of Po' Boys, including one with oysters, and that's the one that I really want to try next.

We had the baba ganoush with tabbouleh, and the fish of the day (whole sea bass) which was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend ordered plain ol' english chips with the fish - much to my disappointment - but we did dip them in this delicious yoghurt sauce that came with the fish so that made up for it. Love this little gem down Trinity road, looks are deceiving as it has much more space out the back than the cozy front of house would have you believe. Best to make a booking if you can but if it's a weekday you can usually get a table for two before 8pm.

We caught it on a…read morenight where the guest chef was Marianna Leivaditaki, and from the off, my friend and I were greeted with warmth from the host and wait staff. After that, Chef Leivaditaki stole the show with a delightfully curated menu inspired by her native Crete - nothing was overly complicated, but in turn every ingredient and course stood on their own, and delightful so. And beyond individual quality, every course worked so well together. From the first wave of courses all the way through to the last dessert, there was a real thoughtfulness, and it made such a difference. And of course, to watch Chef plate and garnish each pending plate as we enjoyed what was in front of us made the entire experience feel so intimate; so enjoyable. Whether you're trying to just enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail with friends or going to experience one of the visiting chef's, Carousel is somewhere you dare not pass over during your time in London. We hope to get back soon, and I'm sure the other guests that night felt the same.
