I don't know why I did that as there were so many other unusual dishes on the menu and I resorted to good ol' hamburger - not the most daring. It was good but I've been eating a lot of good burgers recently and this sat somewhere in the middle of all of those. Liz (the owner) greeted us when we arrived and made us feel very at ease when we explained we were in Kenilworth for a friend's party and wanted to know if the front door would be locked at a certain time. She assured us we could come and go as we pleased and come in as late as we wanted! This made for a really relaxed and assured stay. Rooms are really reasonably priced with a double or twin - £55 and a single - £36; both including a tasty cooked breakfast with locally sourced sausages and bacon (all cooked admirably by Derek, Liz's husband!). We enjoyed breakfast in the bright, traditional dining room and it set us up nicely for a day exploring Kenilworth until lunching later with friends. Authentic, warm, welcoming and within walking distance to town. You couldn't wish for anymore from a good ole British B&B!

From the very beginning the entire process with Mark was seamless. Due to COVID 19 our wedding day got postponed on two separate occasions but this was not a problem at all. He accommodated our new date and made the changes easy. From initial emails and calls, to our online chat before the big day, Mark was fantastic at communicating. He took any stress away, made us feel at ease and even took the time to get to know our love story, wedding party and guests so he could make references throughout the night - we knew we were in safe hands! On our wedding day Mark did not disappoint but instead exceeded our expectations! The music choice was just perfect, the dance floor was full the entire time and nobody wanted the night to end. We called a few days before our stay and had no problem reserving a room. The building is beautiful, historic, very grand and even with its modern upgrades, it maintains an authentic English manor feel. Our room was very clean, well-lit, the decor was lovely and we even had a small balcony overlooking one of the open fields. Before heading out for the evening, we had a few drinks in the hall's great room. It was lavishly decorated, had warm mahogany wood walls, a gigantic fireplace and comfortable lounge chairs and couches to relax on. There was a restaurant pub just a half-block down the road that we went to for dinner... very convenient. Our morning breakfast was served in the dining hall and it was delicious. I believe the menu changes depending on the season but everything we had was scrumptious and we had a nice view of the inner courtyard through the wall of windows. It was a lovely stay and if you're looking for a small weekend getaway in Northamptonshire - look no further.

It had a soft bed, a little too soft - it swallowed me every time I sat, clean bathroom with tub and shower, good lighting overall with a light around the bathroom mirror, an old fashioned hair dryer, TV, ironing board attached to the wall with an iron on the floor just chilling etc. The room are split all over the compound, the one I was allocated was above the Reception area. The grounds itself are beautiful and well maintained. The various conference rooms are well stocked with water - both still and sparkling, bowls of sweets, pens, notepads, magnetic walls, highlighters, calculators, tape... I was fascinated. The food every day was fantastic. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fantastic - absolutely no complaints.
