I have never received such terrible customer service before. I do my hair myself because I can't afford to get it done and if it turns out bad....well I did it so i don't care. I walk up the counter because I had a question. I put all my stuff on the counter and I said "excuse me I have a question" and she goes "what are you trying to do??" Like....all my stuff is on the counter, why don't you look? So then I ask my question and she WILL NOT make eye contact with me. Just kept looking at her paper or at the floor. She talked to me like I was stupid. Well once I got the extra things I needed, she started scanning and asked for my number. I waited till she was back at her computer and she said "phone number" very aggressive so I started saying it while she was still scanning. Then tells me "that didn't work do you have another one?" And I said "that one worked when I went 2 weeks ago" and she asks for it again. I gave it again, still nothing. So she looked me up by my last name and zip code. Then told me that the phone number I have on file is THE EXACT PHONE NUMBER I GAVE HER. This entire time she isn't looking at me. She bags all my stuff and just puts it in front of me very aggressively and goes "have a nice day!" I will go back because I love Sally's and this one employee doesn't represent the company. But I will request to speak with another employee if she's there. read more

Every time I go in there, god forbid I have a question, they act like Im a bother. I used to be a faithful Sally Beauty customer, I even had their club card, which costs $5 per year. However that all changed this year. I paid to renew my card TWICE this year only to be told on subsequent visits that it was expired. I was given their customer service number to call. Well I called the number I was given multiple times on multiple days, the phone rang twice and disconnected. So I emailed customer service about the problem and received an automatically generated reply saying that they would get back to me in 48 hours. That was 3 months ago and I still have heard nothing. I will never shop at Sally Beauty, either in store or online again. Their so called customer service is insulting. read more

I was on a mission to find a specific shampoo. I checked on-line to make sure that Sally's carried it before I made the trip out there (not that it's far from home or anything) but I didn't want to make the trip for nothing. Their website says they carry it, I make the trip...no shampoo. Not only that, they only had a third of one aisle stocked with shampoos. I was so disappointed in their selection, I left empty handed. The sales people were great and quick to help but I will be shopping on Amazon for all my hair care needs from now on...endless selection for better prices. read more

Friendly and extremely helpful. Found everything I needed and on sale. I don't live in the area and had a hard time finding products for my natural hair and a beautician. Ventura and Oxnard don't have a lot of black hair care salons and the ones I did find were either booked through the middle of December (I was there around Thanksgiving) or couldn't do 4 blended braid/cornrows. This is a stocked beauty supply, I usually get my OPI nail polish and strengthening hair treatments (ion) from here. Keep in mind they do not carry truly organic products here, this is not an organic store (might want to go to Lassen's or Whole Foods). I come into this store at least once a month. All the girls are super friendly. One girl I'm particularly (sorry didn't catch her name) spent 15 minutes explaining the different hair color options and the conditioners that would help keep color and helped me find a color I loved. Such a bummer that some people have received unfriendly service in these reviews, but have you ever thought you get back what you put out. My sister and I have always gone to sally's and it was always mediocre no matter what sally's. Today we went in and the girl who was ringing us up (Kelly) ask us if we had purple shampoo and then started talking to us about how to take the brassy out of my hair without toning it. I've been to so many locations and they're usually hit or miss. I don't hate this location but it is lacking. The store is clean and they have a big selection BUT they are usually out of products I need. I went in for my hair dye and the shelf was empty. The girl said they just received their shipment but they hadn't stocked yet. Which is fine, I worked retail for years so I would never expect her to go dig through boxes to find me 3 boxes of dye. I had to go with another brand tho which I don't really like too much. I went in a few days later though and the shelf was still empty but oh well. The girls there are great about greeting you and asking if you need help BUT half of them seem like they hate their jobs. Again, I worked retail so I get it but at least pretend like you aren't miserable. I specifically drove to the Sallys in Ventura CA because I received amazing customer service during a previous visit. I brought my cousin in for some advice on how to slightly correct her botched color job from two horrible salon experiences. Daniela looked incrediBly bothered to even greet us but unfortunately no one else was available to service us. I asked politely, "can I ask for your help?" And she literally made me feel like I was ruining her day. The entire time I was explaining my situation to her, her responses were rude and extremely condescending. I realize I don't know exactly what product I'm looking for which is why I came to ask for HER help. I have worked in customer service for over ten years and I know it is all about perception and my perception was that I was an absolute inconvienence to her entire day and a customer should NEVER feel that way.
