Went this weekend for color and keratin. Everyone was very professional and nice. I have been…read moredoing Brazilian Blow-out/Keratin for almost 10 years now. I usually go in Manhattan for keratin. The service at Salon Valbona was very expensive ($300+) and I have frizz/waves 2 days in - so it did not take as I am used to. I normally have stick straight hair after keratin without even blow drying. Maybe the formula used was weaker than what I am used to? Or applying to wet hair (I've always had my hair bone dry before applying) caused it to be less effective? Liked salon and staff, but paid a lot for a service that is probably 60-75% as effective as to what I normally get for 1/2 the price.

Not gonna lie - I was a bit hesitant to try this place out since there weren't any Yelp reviews but when I called, the lady seemed so flexible and friendly - it was quite easy to schedule an appointment. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find the salon packed. Each station was busy, about 6 patrons in the salon and 6 hair stylists. Inside, it can be best described as "homie" (lol "home-y no pun intended ). The lady was so down-to-earth and accommodating. The prices were outrageously affordable. A half corn row style was $40 and I added hair color which was an additional fee. I'm used to paying double back in Cali so this was a treat! And if you want to know, I ended up capturing SILVER medal at the tournament.

The best $25 blowout EVER!…read more I love this salon and their policy of only charging $25 for a blowout regardless how long or thick your hair is! Considering some salons want to charge $45 for the same service - I only have been using The Concept Salon since I moved back to New Jersey! I also love the salon's easy online booking system; you can see all available appointments and book whenever you need. The salon is very modern and clean. The receptionists always offer you water or coffee even when they are busy - which in my opinion never goes unnoticed. The stylists all take their time and care about what type of blowout you want- I personally prefer Desiree. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the salon does not allow you to book your blowout with the stylist you want; they give you whoever is available which in my opinion is time consuming. If you have a hair stylist you prefer and want to go to regularly is it beneficial for both parties. The hair stylist will eventually know how the customer likes their blowout, so customers do not have to waste time in the beginning explaining or showing the stylist photos. I would LOVE if the salon allowed customers to book with specific stylists, other that I would highly recommend this salon if you are looking for a blowout.
