That is exactly what happened. I came here knowing exactly what I wanted to get, and she told me she was feeling gracious and would let us film the inside of the store! He Is Extremely knowledgeable. I explained what type of scents I usually like and he presented me with what I would likely enjoy. Creed is something you must try on your skin and leave it for at least 20-30 minutes because the scents change and open. - the first time I tried it I literally went home to take a shower because I thought the scent was unbearable, however after walking 5 blocks I fell in love with the scent, turned around and bought my first creed. I have tried every perfume there is, and creed is special. There are many fakes/ dupes around so I will only buy here, or at their website. Be super careful. If the price is too good to be true, it's because it is a fake. In any case, the bottles last me 6 to 18 months (if I wear every day). But I have bigger bottles that have lasted 3 years. It's 100% worth it and there's nothing like coming to the store and having the experience. For men: if you want to turn heads, use Green Irish tweed or Vetiver. Forget aventus.

The service was kind of hilariously amusing the second visit, in that she accidentally told me 2 times in a row with 2 different perfumes that it was her absolute favorite, and she tends to use the word "we" when she means "you," but that just added to the whole hilarious experience. :) (E.g., "Have we shopped here before?" and "Now we'll wave our arms in the air a bit.") But overall very happy and I'm enjoying my new scent.

Annick Goutal (AG) perfumes are a girly-girl's dream. In…read moreless than 30 years they have become the cult-brand hunter's perfume of choice rivaling old-world powerhouses like Chanel, Nina Ricci, CREED and countless others. It's easy to see why since AG perfumes are easily the most pure in their essences and smells, with perfumes which really do smell like pure roses, or pure violets or pure orange blossoms. Mind you how those scents will smell on you will of course differ from person to person since that's how really good perfume works, it works with your own body smells creating something unique and it takes some testing and shopping around to see which perfumes will work for you personally. Personally I love smelling like roses, even if it is a bit old-fashioned. I like sticking to things you can't go wrong with so while on a spontaneous weekend trip to NYC, I decided to go check out the only free-standing Annick Goutal store in North America. Mind you, this isn't the only spot that sells AG perfumes; at most finer department stores there is usually an AG counter but I find the experience of visiting the home-store is usually more personalized. Located literally next door to Magnolia Bakery (of cupcake fame) in NYC West Village fashionably fabulous Bleecker Street, it's a small store with the entire line of AG products on the offering. The salesgirl, Rosa was really friendly and even gave me a free "Rose Absolue" candle with my purchase. Now, the only thing missing from my AG collection is the "Violette" perfume and I'm good to go. It's not cheap BUT if you really want to give yourself something special, you can't go wrong with an Annick Goutal perfume.

Customer Service from Linda in NYC is top notch. Nice packaging - but more importantly the oils inside are terrific. I am an RAP (Registered Aromatherapy Practitioner) and former spa owner so I know what I am talking about.

The staff greeted us when we walked in, and let us know how to smell the perfumes (they have the scents in little glasses). Staff asked me what I was looking for scent-wise, and showed me what I asked for. (I do love florals.) I was also shown the second floor which is their limited fragrances, so unavailable after the season. And when I couldn't decide between two scents, they helped me decide by determining if it was for special occasion or daily use. They also can custom make scents, which is pretty neat. I mentioned wanting jasmine, and they also showed me a pure jasmine scented oil. I just chose one of the premade perfumes. Maybe next time! They also engrave your name on the box, either English or Arabic, as a complimentary service. I will definitely be back once I need a new bottle! Outstanding customer service, very knowledgeable, and incredibly clean store.
