I showed up today with my mom because I had a gift card and wanted to see if I could find a decent moisturizer here that didn't break the bank. Their prestige makeup is always very alluring, but a tad too expensive for me. Since it's the holidays, they were set up with their products that would make good gifts, front and center. I was buying something for myself, however, so I didn't really pay attention. The store is very well organized, though! Just as I started looking for the perfect moisturizer, one caught my eye almost instantly. I like water based, gel moisturizer, so the one from Neutrogena I saw was ticking all those boxes. I grabbed the box and went up to the cash registers. Though there was no one there at first (totally understandable, as the staff was out on the floor helping other customers), I didn't wait long. A store associate who was finished helping someone came up to the register and apologized for the wait, which was nice of her. We chatted about some things we ended up having in common and she was probably the nicest, most pleasant staff member I've ever met there. It was great that she didn't rush me through the checkout process like a lot of retail workers do this time of year (as a former retail grunt, I totally understand why). They must have a commission structure. Then I found this store. It's so much more chill here. I get told about a sale once, no aggressive upselling, and the staff actually remembers you. I get same things every time I go: detergent in the same scents, bar soap, and body wash for men, the same three candles, and a specific scent of air freshener. When they made the air freshener into a candle the sales lady was genuinely excited to show me because she remembered I asked. Then for the first time ever I asked her if there is anything else she thinks I would like. She remembered what I got every single time and went straight to the bar soap and said "I know you like freshwater and I think you would like ocean. Also the graphite soap is less sweet than the noir and you don't seem to like sweet. Every single suggestion this lady made was based off of actual preferences and not just a desire to make sales. She was suggesting things instead of what I was getting and not in addition to. I ended up getting to the resister and hopping out of line really quick and grabbed my usuals as well because I just wanted to make a bigger purchase because of her. I've never had a sales experience like that in my life. Like... I called corporate to tell them how much she got me to buy and that her sales process is incredible. Its founder gave this business a genuine mission: healthy products made with scientific basis from ingredients known for ages to work, that work beautifully, but with none of the modern chemical additives that make us sick. It always seemed to come and go in waves, sometimes my face would clear up and then a few days later it'd just explode with acne and puffiness. I've tried god knows how many different products and brands to try and find a solution. Nothing really seemed to do me any good, so I'd go through phases of just not trying, getting hopeful again, getting disappointed. It was awful. My friend actually recommended me this place - she told me about how they'll actually swab your cheek to investigate the bacteria that grows on your face, give you a whole rundown of things you can do to get your skin back on track - and naturally I trusted her opinion, so I decided to give this place a try. When I visited the shop with her last week, they did just that - swabbed my cheek, and started asking me about my eating habits, blood type - literally all sorts of things that I had no idea could potentially be affecting my body in a way that causes my breakouts. I was tasked with doing a celery juice cleanse, and given a list of things I should try to avoid eating for a week in order to help my body to recover from some of the not so great things I've been putting in it. They actually gave me a good week's worth of different product samples (for free!), things they make in-house that I could try during my cleanse to see if they have a positive effect on my skin. Well, happy to say that one week later my skin has started to clear up a bit - I still have some breakouts, but my face isn't as puffy as it typically is, and my skin is sooooo much healthier after using these products. Like I said - Beauty Organix products are all made in-house. They also have a handful of other beauty product brands that are carefully selected and are only the best for your body. They have different face washes, deodorants, even makeup that's all picked with your overall body health in mind. Not only has coming here made a positive impact on my overall skin care routine and health, but it's impacted my eating habits and way of thinking as well!
