This is a hidden gem in Salisbury - we have never dreamed of going here due to location (sadly!)…read moreand we had to go here for a birthday party and were so suprised! They had a deal for buy one get one free lunch at the time (for everyone) so it was a very cheap event. They are called "House of Schnitzel" and they have heaps of schnitzel toppings and 3 different schnitzel sizes. Mini Midi and Maxi. You pick your size and then the topping (I.e. Nachos or meatballs) They had a vegetarian option for me, which was the eggplant schnitz, and we got to add a topping to that as well (Avocado and sour cream - YUM) They have wonderful staff who accompanied us to the table and set up the highchair for Boo. Sadly they don't do long island iced teas, but I'll forgive them for that :D

Okay, you might be wondering why on Earth did I ever go to this pub considering that it is in…read moreSalisbury, and this place did have a reputation. Well, since it is right next to the railway station, and is on my way home, then it was the obvious choice for me if I wanted to have a beer. Anyway, for a while it was actually a really quite place. In fact the only people you would find in here were the people in the pokies room, which meant that, unless it was poker night, you could literally have the entire place to yourself. However that has changed since they have now added a restaurant, call 'The House of Schnitzel', and what that means is that you have a whole page of cholesterol busting toppings. Okay, they didn't have the 'parma sandwich' however there were enough choices to literally give you a heart attack simply by thinking about it. I ended up having the Yiros Schnitzel which was pretty good, and I even managed to walk out of here alive.

It has only taken me a good part of a decade to dine here, eventhough I live within the vicinity. A…read morefriend who frequent this place regularly thinks it serves solid food and is good value. So, tonight we agreed to have dinner here. The club resembles more of a typical pub than a club. The menu has pub favourites like schnitzels, pizzas and steak. Access to the salad and vegie bar and soups is included with a main meal. I picked a chicken parmagiana while my friend had the curry special chicken korma. Both dishes came out in a timely manner and was really nice. My schnitzel looked small, but it was tasty and filling. I also had both the soups on offer; french onion and chicken vegetable, along with the baked vegetables, so needless to say, I was comfortably full. The chicken korma was great according to my friend, but not enough of it. Due to the club extension, the price increase to food and drinks was understandable. However, I think paying over $20 for a schnitzel is steep for a community club. I do appreciate the use of chicken breast though. The only other gripe would be the cold and unseasoned chips. They do offer a three course lunch special which I am keen to come back for. They also have another dining area, which has a limited menu, but I heard is better value if you don't care about the salad and vegie bar. From the main dining room, you could watch a game being played outside thanks to the high glass windows. Final note: not bad, but not amazing. Will return because it is close and am keen to try their weeknight specials.

Been visiting weekly for a while now, great venue, decent prices and very generous meal sizes…read more Friendly staff and an overall nice vibe.
