I just came from church and my order was not large. I was given some old brown French fries. They just dumped those old fries in with hot chicken. This particular location is on Hillsborough Avenue and while Hillsborough Avenue can be a bit of a nightmare to traverse with its traffic, that was the only negative I could convey about this place. Salem's Fresh Eats has been a fast food chain that I have always enjoyed and will often choose to stop at one of their locations when I am in the Tampa area. I have always went with their gyro as the main part of the meal and have always enjoyed it, especially when you consider that it is from a local fast food chain. I would definitely recommend this particular location of Salem's Fresh Eats and when taking into perspective the fact that it is a fast food local restaurant chain, the food is a better option than other fast food restaurants, I will have to give it five stars. read more

I like Salem's the its moderately priced. My only gripe is the sweet tea. I have been to a few of them and the sugar level is extremely high. I get half sweet and half no sugar. That's the only way I can drink it. The fish was good and the shrimp. It's kind of hit or moss. Most of my experiences were good. I say 90% of the time. read more

Holy smokes - their drive-thru specials are better than the app. Absolutely love both styles of pita, gyro and grilled chicken. Me and my boyfriend came around 10:30 and bought the 2 gyros for 10$ the total came out to be a little over 11 bucks. I got the fried chicken which was honestly pretty good not 100% sure if the chicken is fresh i would say it's frozen. Year ago I used to get wings from Salems on Hillsborough avenue. They were great. So I decided after craving fish recently to go to the Salems on Busch Blvd. I placed my order online. The process was easy and effortless. It even had a step by step follow through to show how your order is processing. Since I live close to them I got in my car and proceeded to go there. When I arrived it because apparent how busy they were. Since my order wasn't quite ready yet the counter person gave me a cup to fill the soft drink that I ordered. I was pleased to find that the combination of syrup and soda water were a perfect blend. I continued to wait for my order which took another ten to fifteen mins no problem at least it would be fresh. I asked for lemon which they added . When I got home I sat down to eat And noticed that the fries weren't fresh as originally expected. And the Tilapia wasn't anything to write home about. In fact I have purchased fried Tilapia from a convenient store that had wings and fried fish dinners for sale at a much more modest price and the breading was crisp as were the fries. I'm not quite sure what the problem was because the manager was on task making sure that everything came out in a timely manner, as did the two people who were finishing the orders. Perhaps the quality of the food itself? Which I find hard to believe after patronizing the store on Hillsborough avenue for many years. I will be trying them again. Salems always hits the spot with flavor of the wing sauce no matter which one you get . If you like to dip your wings in a dipping sauce you most definitely will need to buy extra sauce . I love to soak the fries into the hot wings sauce than my dipping sauce instead of Ketchup , but you do you . Philly cheese sandwich is really good too my husband has had the shrimp bowl with rice , fried okra , onion rings , mozzarella sticks and maybe tried everything on the menu to be honest he says it was really good . Something's you need to warned of ITS always packed which is always a good sign in a restaurant, people may or may not fight in the parking lot mostly very late hours like after the club , the staff can be pretty bland whatever I'm there for my wings ! Salem's has it going on! It's Sunday afternoon, we're in someone else's neighborhood, and we're hungry. Throw a picky six year old on top of that and the pickins start getting slim. Thankfully my hubby brought up Salem's. I popped up the Yelp app and it was right down the street. Parking wasn't bad, the line wasn't long, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They may look like a fast food place but their food is definitely better than that. I had the Po Boy Shrimp Sub and when our order came up I was pleased to see it. My sub was stuffed to the gills with seasoned shrimp, mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and a generous helping of melted cheese. It was mouthful after mouthful of messy heaven and definitely one of the best subs I've ever had. Ever. The side of fries was stacked high and seasoned perfectly. They were hot, fresh, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. My idea of how fries should be. I'll definitely be back here next time we're in town, but we need a Salem's in Oldsmar. This place is right next door to one of my medical customer's office, and today was the second time stopped in for lunch. The neighborhood isn't the best, so I was not expecting much on the first visit - but it was great- and the second visit was great, too! In addition, if you look at the floors and counter tops behind the register area, I think you will see that this place is cleaner than most people keep their own house. My second visit today confirmed that this place is consistently spotless, and the food is really good. You get a great portion for your money here. I ordered a half pound of fried shrimp, and asked the manager (that took my order at the counter) if I could have rice and beans instead of french fries...."No Problem!" I thought I might be charged a little extra for subbing the beans/rice....that didn't happen! The rice and black beans were excellent, piping hot, and covered half the plate. I absolutely LOVE this place. Before becoming lactose intolerant the Philly Cheese steak sandwich was my staple item. However, since my new discovery both my husband and I were forced to try other items to our pleasure. Since then I've tried and loved their seasonal sweet potatoes fries, side salad, the jumbo fried shrimp, fried okra, but today I had the grilled tilapia sandwich and fries. It was so loaded with chicken that the gyro wouldn't close and with bite I took chicken was falling out. The burger is fully cooked , the bun and the lettuce , tomatoe and onion are all fresh . The fries are perfect medium sized and fried in clean oil. You won't be disappointed. Just remember that they don't start cooking your order until if is placed by you, so you might have to wait a few minutes to get your food. But the wait is well worth it. You can also try Burger Monger or Burger Culture , which serve tasty burgers and fries but are more expensive and no drink included. read more

Salem's is really one of the best places if you're a fan of hot and crispy fried food made to order. All of the other fast food places are really hit-or-miss when it comes to freshness and food taste but Salem's is always on point. I personally order the shrimp and fries every time. It takes a few minutes for them to get your order ready but it's worth the wait. The shrimp are always hot and crispy with really well seasoned batter on the outside and sprinkled with Old Bay seasoning. A slice of lemon comes on the side as well in case you want to give them a twist and let me tell you, you do! The fries are also as described in other reviews, perfectly crispy and salty on the outside and soft in the middle. They make everything so fresh it's not unusual to see places in the food boxes where it's melted a hole! But seriously, too fresh? Does that term exist? Try them out!! read more

Great Subs and Tasty Wings. Fast drive through and they're open laaaate. ate here a couple times and I must say its a neighborhood favorite. My family eats here and after my introduction - I am going here often too. Their chicken gyro was a bit small and not as tasty as the authentic greek I'm used to. but it's alright in a pinch.
