The owner was rude asf, brought in a suit jacket to shorten the sleeves, first the left sleeve was an inch shorter than the right one, waited another week, came back only to get a twisted left sleeve, got called too picky and the owner insulted me with "I feel sorry for your wife", she even forced me to tell her if I was married before she insulted me with that tho. read more

I have taken them five suits to have various alterations done, they get the job done quickly, the prices are fair and the work is perfect. I have had pants hemmed, sleeves shortened and the biggest alteration was adding a back panel into a vest to make it fit. The owner is very unprofessional, extremely rude and was combative when I showed him that he had made a mistake on my order and does not know the meaning of the word "Measure" !!! Maybe this is more of a specialty shop for menswear because my experiences have been pretty disappointing. Despite having pants pinned at the exact length they need hemmed while wearing the shoes I will wear with them later, they ALL come back about a half inch too short. I'm not running for Mayor of Dorksville okay? Not to mention a few of those hems were bunchy like the fabric wasn't held tight while being run through the machine. I've had them re-done - by a random neighbor with a sewing machine....for free. Last straw was a dress pretty badly mangled. Probably just turn away requests that aren't in your repertoire instead of experimenting badly and then charging $25 for a mess. The quest for a good tailor continues...... read more

I called and received a call back from the owner, today. Apparently, they are having issues with their site in terms of getting email contact forms. I am willing to meet them halfway on this. They are willing to reimburse the alteration fee and assign some store credit. I am considering this. Also, I agree with the owner that this was a big mistake. We never did try on the dress when we picked it up. read more

First of all, the price of tailoring will be based on the price of the clothes bringing in and the ones you are wearing, or the car you drive, or the purse you carry!!! He sizes you up and then determines what you can afford to pay. The owner (a guy) is hot tempered, big time!!! If you complain about the work that was done improperly, he gets very agitated and wants to throw you out the door, while keeping the money you paid for poor work. His mother and two other women do alterations in the shop as well. They also seem to be afraid of this guy. I have asked the ladies how much something will be to alter but when I pick it up he has changed the price!!! I would recommend finding another option for tailoring. Employees are self taught no doubt. read more

They did a wonderful job on a Mother of the Bride dress with lots of beading and sequins. I just needed it hemmed, but I was worried about the details. He took his time measuring it before and it was done in a timely fashion. They are always very friendly as well. read more

I have used Salem tailoring for a last minute bridesmaids dress, quite a few of my husband's shirts, pants, and also his military uniform. They are always awesome, done in a timely manner. Today they went above and beyond when I was in the truck with two sleeping babies, a predicament most mothers can understand. I couldn't leave my kids in the car so I called them, without hesitation they came out to my truck to bring me my items. They are awesome, kind, and talented. They did a good job hemming several pairs of new dress slacks. I also have a hard time finding business shirts that fit my arm length without looking like I'm wearing a parachute. I took in my entire wardrobe of shirts to be custom fit, and they did a fantastic job. I was happy with the quality of work and the courteous and timely service, I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

This is quite possibly the tackiest tailoring job I've ever had done and I tailor nearly everything. I wanted a skirt taken in at the waist. It was brand new and when I picked it up. The elastic was sticking out on the sides inside the skirt. The skirt had been taken in only a few inches on the side and so the fabric spread apart below that. Someone didn't take it down to even it out. I asked to have it fixed and the gentleman in the store said he would. He did take it in but it still had fabric poking out. Finally, he said he could iron it to "smooth it out". I asked him to fix it again. I didn't bother trying it on a third time. I paid and left. The price was $18. When he was redoing the skirt he used a Serger for the exposed elastic and told me it wasn't done since I haggled over price. He said it was supposed to be $25 dollars. I was told it was $17-$20 when I went in. He was referring to another item I wanted tailored and decided to get somewhere else because the cost seemed very high. The gentleman was polite but telling me things were left undone for that reason was very unprofessional. He also said his Mom taught him to sew. Unfortunately, I think that is the lady who did my skirt this way. Not good. I wouldn't recommend them to work on anything of value. read more
