If you come to Salem and meet someone Arabic, try saying Salem Alaikum. It might work. If they say Alaikum Salem, it worked. Sleepy little modern-looking University in the heart of Salem Oregon not too far from the tourist area - probably about half a mile to the South East of all the witchy crap. It's also only about half a mile from the beach which makes it a great location for students and yet not a really fashionable University to attend. It's a nice campus but it's a little quiet for college life unless that's your thing. Would get 4 stars but they lose a star for the high tuition. Who is pocketing all that.

The image shows an empty classroom with white walls, a window with blinds, and a closed wooden door. There are wooden desks and chairs, a bulletin board on the wall, and electrical outlets near the floor. The room appears clean and well-lit, with a simple, functional design suitable for educational use.

Despite reviews in here from some I have found this school to be better then the bigger name school I recently was apart of.

So disappointing, they do not care about their students.

Dr. Richard Wylie is very frustrating to deal with, he states he has this open email system, yet it is extreme fluff! He never hears out the student/parent and does what makes him look good. Recently his change of the way students select rooms, has so much controversy to it, you can see right through that it is his way to promote the 2.0-2.5 GPA students to higher status so that they can get the premier rooms on Campus. This same leadership team sent to our home Merit awards for another student. When questioned if more was able to be received the Financial arm of this leader told us we are at the highest (funny as he didn't know we got the letter for not only my child but also for the next letter in the alphabet). Lets discuss first year housing and how they let the two athletes into the room one week early and the forced triple had a bed propped so far up - it was a safety concern and when brought to the dorm president - told us to deal with it and stop complaining. This place came up so I sent an inquiry in the summer. The response was so quick and I immediately scored a date and time for my kid's birthday for the fall. Thank you, Eve! They are not in downtown/main strip of Salem but that's perfect because they have own parking lot. Everyone had a blast at the pendant making class. Even the parents asked how I came up with this idea. They listed a few packages online and I settled with fused glass pendant. It lasted for two hours (1.5 hours to go over safety demo and making of the product(s), and remaining for snacks, cake etc. Ben was amazing with the kids! We had ten minutes left and he gave the kids a quick flame torch demo. Although I selected fused glass pendant class, the kids were able to make magnet, keychain, earrings. Thank you for extra options. The school was equipped with first aid kit. One thing I would suggest is to have more than 2 pairs of kids gloves. Or make this as a requirement like the goggles. NSGS accepts all forms of payment - Venmo, cash, credit card or check. Check out their awesome class offerings online or their Facebook page. Highly recommended and I would go back! The bathroom is in the back. A small fridge is available so don't bring a huge cake. Our ice cream cake did not melt in our cooler so that's an option.

But once he started at the Phoenix School, things turned around. He came home after the first day and said, "It's like the teachers aren't even teachers--they're just people!" The caring relationship with his teachers, the community at the school, the way his teachers push him to do more than he thought he could and support him as he learns to push himself has been amazing. He loves school now and is thriving academically, socially, and emotionally. The way they integrate learning across all their activities is special. Students learn all the academic skills throughout all their activities, along with specialized practice in, say, math or writing, especially as they get older. They also use the community at large as their classroom with frequent out-of-the-classroom learning experiences that engage students far more than anything I've seen at any other school. Teachers support students as they produce high-quality work, with autonomy and ownership over their own learning. Teachers are among the most dedicated professional educators I've ever met. They work hard to create a community of students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members dedicated to the well-being and education of students as complete people. It's not possible for me to say enough good things about this school.
