Pixie Woods - Pixie Woods 70th Birthday Opening Day 2024!

I brought my…read moredaughter on their opening Day June 1st as they were celebrating its 70th Birthday and had a carnival, cake, face painting, magic show all included with admission which was thoughtful! If I remembered correctly admission is $6. Rides are $5 for 3 rides. (They only have 3 rides: boat ride, train ride, & carrousel) OR $9 for unlimited rides wristband. We ended up getting the wristband but it wasn't worth it, as the park was extremely packed and the lines for the rides were pretty lengthy, we only got on each ride once, but I'm sure on a regular day with no event happening, it's worth it to get the unlimited. Carrousel was so fun, goes pretty fast. Train ride was funny with all the things you pass and see along the ride, and the tunnel was the cutest, get ready to get your phone out and take a video. They even have a little water park so be sure to pack an extra pack of clothes for the kiddos unless you don't mind them getting soaked and getting back in your car. They have a food stand with foods like hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, chili, chips, shaved ice, fountain drinks, etc. We didn't purchase food here but prices ranged from $4-$8 I believe. This was a great way to spend a few hours and let your kids run around, play and tire them out. I'd definitely bring my daughter back. I am pretty bummed, there opening day my daughter & I stood in line for face painting for 1h & 35m literally and it was during the time that they passed out the raffle it was 70 $70 gift cards and apparently my number got called while in line & I didn't hear it and it's not like I had anyone to go get my prize for me. So by the time my daughter got her face painted and we went to give them our #. They said they called it out already and literally handed out the last gift card to someone. So that was pretty sucky. It's okay though. We had a great time and it was a great event. Their hours of Operation are: June - July 2024 Thursday - Sunday 10am - 4pm August - October 2024 Saturday & Sunday Only 10am - 4pm

I took my girls to the children's events hosted in the lobby, and I honestly found myself enjoying my own inner child right alongside them. We absolutely loved the arts and crafts and the storytelling time. The room layout is also wonderful for families. Our room had a separate section for the kids featuring a bunk bed and a twin bed, which was beautifully split from the main bedroom area. It added such a nice, warm, and kid-friendly touch to our stay. The indoor water park itself is fantastic, though it did feel a bit musty and humid inside the pool area. Improved ventilation would definitely elevate the comfort level. During our visit, one of the toddler swimming areas (restricted to children under 40-45 inches) was closed. Unfortunately, my three-year-old was in that height range, so she missed out on the full experience there, though there were luckily other areas available for her to enjoy. The wave pool was great! I really appreciated that it wasn't too deep, which made it much easier and safer for someone of my height (4'11") to swim and wade around with my three-year-old daughter. Right next to the water park, the rest of the building has so much more to offer! They have amazing shops, fun obstacle courses, an awesome arcade, and great food options all conveniently located inside. It really keeps the kids entertained even when you're out of the water. The staff members were consistently friendly and attentive. On our way out in the morning, the housekeeping staff at every door warmly said good morning to us, which was such a sweet touch. I didn't carry my phone with me during our water park session to take photos, but the memories were worth it. This is definitely a place we would love to return to and make a family tradition moving forward! Rate: 8/10

I…read morealways said I'd never take them to Great Wolf Lodge, but my April baby always wants a "pool" party--and it's usually cold or rainy--so I gave in. Prices were actually reasonable, so we booked Sunday-Tuesday. Check-in lines were long, but the self-serve kiosk was quick and easy. We got wristbands for the room and water park and headed straight to the pool. It was packed Sunday around 5 p.m., which was expected, so we stayed a couple hours and went back to the room. Food inside the hotel was either closed or overpriced, but the location is great--about 0.5 miles from Panda Express, Chili's, Costco, La Estrella (amazing Mexican food), and more. We ate at Chili's. Parking is $20/day. You can use the water park from check-in day through checkout, which is awesome. My 11-year-old loved the Howlers Peak Ropes Course. My 7-year-old and I tried it, but he got scared at the top--staff helped him down right away. I don't blame him, it's high! I only did the first level, but my 11-year-old did the second level three times. My 7-year-old also loved the arcade. Most attractions cost extra, but there are decent deals. The only ones I wouldn't do again are mini golf and bowling--they're very small and just okay. We had the unlimited family pass, so we used them anyway. Best part: the slides! I'm 32 and my husband is 34, and we had just as much fun as the kids. Big or small, all the slides were a blast. Honestly, one of our favorite family vacations. The room (Grizzly Suite) was clean and spacious for 3 adults and 2 kids. Beds weren't super comfortable, but that's typical. Cleanliness mattered most. Checkout was easy via text, but double-check your bill--they tried to charge us $60 for "missing" towels we returned. A quick call got it refunded, but I can see how others might miss that. Overall, we'll likely be back within the next year.

This place was about almost hour away from where we were staying. Booking was pretty easy as I booked our tickets on their website. They have a parking lot so easy to find parking. Lol this was back in November. The staircase was crazy!!! My legs were sore for 4 days afterwards!! Omg! Lol It was definitely a fantastic adventure to visit the cavern and to walk that down deep underground. Pricing was okay. I think it was like 20 or 30something per person. They took a group photo of us, which I ended up buying. Lol They also have a small gift shop when you exit with memorabilia and little Knick-knacks. If you happened to be near the area, I would say it's a great place to visit! Probably better for adults or teens. It's harder for little kids or elderly people because of the stairs. We saw a mom carry her child. Such a strong mommy! Kudos!

There are a few fun tube waterslides as well for older children and adults. A fun place for a birthday party!!…read more It sucks when my daughter's birthday is around the same time I have to prepare for the new school year. It's such a stressful time of the year! That's why I'm just writing this review two months later.... My daughter had a field trip here at summer camp. Since she enjoyed it so much, it gave me an idea for a birthday party with her friends. I'm glad they had a website that made it easy and convenient to book a party. It was cheaper than Cowabunga Water Park (or whatever that took over Raging Waters). This park is smaller, so it was easier for two adults to watch six kids roam around. It has two or three big water slides, a lazy river, and a pool. Enough to keep them busy for four to five hours. The birthday package I chose included entrance tickets, a pizza slice, a drink, and a voucher for Dippin' Dots for each kid. There's a restaurant on-site, therefore, it was convenient to get more food for the kids, like french fries and nachos. The premium cabana was the perfect size for the kids to hang out and eat. A host was available to help when needed during the celebration. Overall, it was a great venue! Organizing a party can be stressful. However, this venue lessened my anxiety. The kids and their parents were grateful. It was also a fantastic way to celebrate the end of their summer vacation.

Although the Sky Ride was closed, the kids still had fun jumping and flipping on the Apex trampoline and running through the Warrior course. It was very packed and busy. I felt that this visit wasn't as great at my last; place seemed like it needs a deep clean and better ventilation because of the smell of sweat and chaos. I ordered nachos at the cafe, the nacho cheese sauce they used this time wasn't good so I wouldn't recommend ordering these again. Way too oily and slightly bitter. Even with attractions closed and food not what I expected, we still enjoyed ourselves and will come back when the "Tube Playground" is finally installed. We will skip the food at the cafe and just get refreshments. Hopefully our next visit will be great like previous visits!

I am beyond disgusted with my experience at Urban Air Adventure Park Sacramento…read more My 7 year old son went there to have fun, and instead left scared for his safety. A group of teenage boys approached him, called him "little N" multiple times, and tried to lure him by saying they had candy and telling him to come to them. Let that sink in. A child was racially harassed and made to feel like he was about to be kidnapped inside a place that is supposed to be safe for kids. He ran and told his godmother, who immediately reported it to management. And what did they do? Nothing meaningful. The teens were not removed. They were allowed to stay and continue occupying the same space as the children they just targeted. That is unacceptable. This is bigger than "kids being kids." This is racism and dangerous behavior being ignored. When a business allows that kind of environment to continue, they are part of the problem. My son is biracial but does not appear to be, and he was targeted without hesitation. No child should have to experience that kind of fear just to play. Urban Air failed to protect him. They failed to act. And they failed to create a safe environment. If you are a parent, especially a parent of Black children, you need to seriously consider whether this is a place where your child will actually be safe. Do better.

We've been to extravagant light shows, like Luminaria Lights at the Botanical Gardens in Southern Cali, so that was our comparison and we honestly weren't expecting much with Imaginarium. Really happy that we decided to give this a shot! It was held at the Cal Expo so parking is extremely generous. However, we went on a Thursday evening in early December to avoid the crowds and I, for one, absolutely appreciated not having any lines or difficulty going in and out of the parking lot. Hardly anyone was there on a Thursday evening on the first week of December but I can imagine it would've been annoyingly packed if we went during rush season closer to Christmas or weekends. Pretty hilarious how we initially thought the front entrance exhibits and cute little photoshoot setups were it, until we walked past some food vendors to be shocked and awed at the enormous amount of creative setups they had in the main staging area. There was even a little circus act for some entertainment! Enjoy your time with family, walk around to your leisure, and they even had lots of neat room setups to experience. The kids enjoyed the art exhibit the most where they could color in beautifully drawn artistry with chalk! Santa was available for photos towards the exit.m at no charge. Nice! Tipped him, of course, to care for his elves and reindeer. Biggest tip is to be aware of where the restrooms are in case any urgencies arise. We found them to be to the right of the main area once we passed the food vendors thanks to friendly staff and security personnel. Highly recommended for everyone around the Sacramento and Roseville area, near and far! Great for families, dates, solos, and friends. Security is tight since it's Cal Expo so it felt rather safe for our family. Lovely organized event and enjoyed a magical evening surrounded be a wonderment of lights and glamor! (Is wonderment even a word? I don't know, but if fits the bill for Imaginarium for sure)
