A Culinary Delight at Everest…read more Located on Old Seward Highway, Everest stands out as a beacon for lovers of Indian cuisine. As soon as you step inside, you're enveloped in an ambiance that exudes warmth and authenticity, accentuated by traditional décor and soothing music. The waitstaff was impeccably dressed, inviting, and friendly. The menu is a delightful journey through India's diverse tapestry of flavors, and a buffet is available during the week. From the moment we took our first bite of the food, the rich spices and freshly grilled notes were simply mesmerizing. The butter chicken was a showcase of culinary mastery -- tender chicken in a creamy, tomato-based sauce that was perfectly balanced. The garlic naan bread was so delicious, we ordered a second basket! For those seeking something unique, the lamb biryani was an absolute revelation. Aromatic basmati rice layered with succulent lamb, enriched with saffron, was the star of the evening. Every dish is crafted with such care that it tells a story of tradition and passion. What truly sets Everest apart, however, is its impeccable service. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely eager to enhance your dining experience. They guided us through the menu perfectly, offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were never empty. In a world where dining out is often about convenience, Everest restores the joy of eating out with its exquisite food, charming atmosphere, and attentive service, while still catering to those seeking a quick meal by having a drive through. Whether you're a long-time fan of Indian cuisine or a curious newcomer, a visit to this restaurant will undoubtedly leave you with delightful memories and a yearning for more.

Great food, reasonable prices, good service, and a nice hole-in-the-wall spot. This place has a…read moregreat variety of Indian, Vietnamese, and middle eastern food. They did an impressive job of making all of the food taste authentic, not your typical bistro or fusion master of none style menus. We ordered butter chicken, pho rare steak, basket naan, chicken biryani, and chicken korma. The pho was phenomenal, just like in Vietnam, with an average portion of meat, overall very large portions and great flavor. The butter chicken was soupy and tasty, plenty of chicken, and large enough for anyone to be satisfied. I'm not typically a fan of biryani, but the chicken biryani had the perfect amount of spice, and almost addicting taste and heaping pile of food, enough for 3 meals! I did not like the chicken korma, but my wife loved it - with a unique yet non spicy flavor. The naan basket was also large, with 3 flavors of naan. Overall, the only negative thing was limited parking in the winter, otherwise I will definitely be back!

I love love love this restaurant and the people who own it!…read more I remember when they started Meraki in Eagle River (which quickly became my family's daily destination) then the pandemic hit. Man I was so sad when they had to close their doors. After they had to shut their doors they pivoted and did door dash. Then they were sharing a restaurant with wing n things on boniface (which was weird and I'm sure it sucked to do it with those crazy ppl lol) But now they have a reopened their own restaurant on the south side! (Which sucks because its soooo far from me) But to watch this family, get back up, again, and again. All due to their integrity and commitment to make quality Greek food here in Alaska! Amazing place, and the Phoenix is best choice for your logo!

I would give this place more than five stars if possible!…read more I'm an absolute fiend for middle eastern and Mediterranean food. I grew up on gyros and when I travel, I often gravitate toward that style of cuisine. So when I say this is THE BEST chicken souvlaki I've ever had, I don't say it lightly. The chicken is extraordinarily tender and so well seasoned. The tzatziki is delicious. The sumac onion and lemon wedge are just the cherry on top. My personal preference would've been for a salad instead of fries for the platter ($26), but I also didn't ask for it, so that's on me. Dad had the spicy pork yerro ($19), and said it was "awesome." A combination of flavors you don't get often, and tasty to boot. We polished off the meal with the largest piece of baklava I've ever seen ($15). It sits in an orange blossom honey and is just as tasty as it looks. Dessert is definitely on the pricy side - we could've gotten outta there pretty reasonably without it. I'll be back to try more of the menu. Their dips look incredible and the halloumi yerro is on my must-have list. Service was decent but depended on the dining room and takeout situation since there's only one server. I loved the response I got when I called about their hours earlier. (The menu photos show a 7:30pm close while Yelp indicates 9:30.) The answer? 9-10 "depending on the meats." Hope these guys stick around because the food is incredible. Highly recommend!
