This happened to be an economic event, sponsored by a local group so the small shop was quite busy. In this I mean, standing room and a wait time. Was the food worth it? ABSOLUTELY. This spot has a variety of flavorful options, from salads, wraps, steamed bowls and even smoothies. You can choose your proteins (chicken, salmon, shrimp, tuna and even cheese). Meals are made to order. But, there is a refrigerator of grab and go tuna salads and drinks I ordered a salad of Spinach and Mozzarella cheese with all the toppings, but no meat. The toppings range from walnuts, cranberries, olives, pickles, tomatoes, eggs, onions, peppers, croutons and pickles. Whew! With all of that, who needed meat! In all honesty it was so fresh and filling, as much as I tried, I couldn't eat it all. I also purchased a small smoothie, from the 10+ varieties offered. My chosen drink was a mixture of strawberry and banana. My bill came to $13 (give or take). This price was absolutely reasonable and fair. To be honest, I would have been willing to pay even a few dollars more, as it was certainly worth it. While they do have dine - in, I chose to carry out. There's also a car wash and other stores in the strip mall, so it's a busy location with lots of activity. It's easy to miss and you can't really see the storefront from the street. I ordered two Cuban sandwiches and one ham & cheese sandwich. I was told they were out of pork for the Cuban sandwiches, so I specifically asked if they could make them the way they normally do, just without the pork since they had none available. Instead, I received three sandwiches on croissant bread -- not what I ordered at all. I even checked the display photo, and what we received looked nothing like the menu item. To make matters worse, one of the sandwiches was completely burnt. At $16 per sandwich, this felt completely unacceptable. I did not order croissant sandwiches, especially not burnt ones. Separately, my sister ordered a chicken and avocado arepa. Before preparing it, the woman kindly came out to ask how she wanted it prepared. My sister simply asked how it normally comes. When onions were mentioned, my sister said she would prefer no onions, only to be told they couldn't do that. We later found out the "chicken" was actually chicken salad mixed with onions -- something that was not made clear on the menu. To her credit, the employee offered to make an alternative with breaded chicken, avocado, and an arepa instead. My sister felt bad because she was clearly trying to accommodate her request, so she accepted. However, once I returned our sandwiches because they were incorrect and one was burnt, my sister decided to return hers as well. We had also ordered two juices and told them we were happy to keep the drinks. At that point, the woman became visibly upset and rudely said: "No... you're not getting anything." She took offense to the return and refused to let us keep the juices we had paid for. I understand food service is hard work, and I appreciate that effort was made to accommodate. But at the end of the day, we were served food we did not order, one item was burnt beyond acceptable, the menu descriptions were misleading, and the response to a reasonable return was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Paying $53 for croissants you didn't order and then disputing with me and making me feel ridiculous because they didn't get it and served me different items is absurd. We left and went to Au Bon Pain, where we got three sandwiches for $35 and had a far better experience. Would not return.
