I ordered the southern comfort bowl and choose brisket as my meat but I believe you can get 2 different types of meat if you want. It looks kinda small coming out of the truck but it was super filling! It was literally so tasty, the brisket was cooked perfectly, the Mac and cheese layer was delicious and I really am not a fan of creamy coleslaw or baked beans but these both pulled the whole bowl together. I would DEFINITELY order this again!! It was really fast to come out of the truck after I ordered and I thought the prices were extremely cheap and shocking for a food truck considering this was some of the best food truck food I've had in a while. Sadly the cheesey potatoes were no bueno. I ended up throwing them away. The cornbread was excellent, I could have eaten a couple more pieces. Overall the portion sizes were generous. I got the Chipotle bbq sauce which I thought was very good. I got a 2nd sauce ($1) Hot Honey. It was good, but did not have a distinct flavor. The service was efficient and friendly. I ordered a 2 meat platter -- I chose pulled pork & a quarter chicken along with cornbread and potato salad for my sides. My husband got ribs (x2) and a quarter chicken for his 3 meat combo along with potato salad and Mac n cheese. The price felt a little high but not when we saw the portions - the sides were huge and we could barely finish our plates. Here's the thing... we are picky about our bbq. We have a smoker at home so expectations are high. The flavor of both my chicken and pulled pork were what I'd consider a "soft smoke" that you'd find on a buffet line or in a catering dish. Everything came out right away so it was probably stored that way after prepared. I prefer a "hard smoke" where the skin has a nice bark like consistency and the pulled pork was almost soupy - I hate to compare but my go to will still be Two Scotts. If you like a more basic bbq this may be your place. The potato salad was good, unique sauce and something different than your usual mustard and egg potato salad. The cornbread was good too - just wish it was a little bigger. Will I be back? Not sure. I've had their food truck and I think when you're at an outside event it can curb your hunger but for an in person experience, I think my bar may have been set too high. So I can't speak to the in person vibe and service of this place but the food was delivered fast! I ordered their 2 meat plate with Mac salad as my side. For my meats I chose the pork katsu and the shoyu chicken and wow everything was so delicious. I think this cuisine was missing in Grand Rapids and Pacific Moon does it REALLY well. The meat was cooked perfectly. I do think I preferred the katsu, especially with the sauce. But the chicken was still juicy and flavored wonderfully. The rice is a good addition with the meat and honestly I'm a sucker for any type of pasta salad so the Mac salad was ultimately why I wanted to order. It was good and I'm glad I ordered the additional side of it on top of the side that already comes with the plate. I can't wait to come here in person and try more menu items :)

I like going to the farmers market on Friday mornings when it's less busy, so last Friday I arrived around 8 am and wanted a bite to eat for breakfast. El Jalapeno doesn't have a "regular" breakfast menu during the week (I heard an employee say they only have breakfast on the weekends), but I'll eat anything at breakfast time. I ordered a steak burrito which was about $12. There were a couple of picnic tables near the truck so I sat and waited for my food. I should have asked for it to go, as it came out on a paper plate, but I decided it would be best to eat at least part of it when it was hot and fresh anyway. The burrito was massive! I definitely could have split it with Nate, who went into the market to get a different breakfast option. I took half home for later. The steak was flavorful and seasoned well and the burrito was stuffed with lots of fillings; rice, lettuce, refried beans, tomato, sour cream, and a side of salsa. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious - I particularly liked the refried beans in the burrito, which was surprising for me, because usually I could go without. The employees were all super friendly and polite and the smells wafting out of the truck were mouth-watering! We hadn't planned on stopping at a food truck.but the sandwiches looked delicious so we gave it a try. We each ordered different sandwiches, mine was a veggie. It was piled high with toppings, plenty of cheese, and the mayo and mustard I had requested. It was excellent!
