Mom surprised me with birthday massage. It was my first time having a Thai massage. It.was much needed after a weekend of partying. My knee feels so much better after LuLu did my massage. Lulu didn't speak much english but she had google translate and was able to communicate with me about my injury. All in all would come back to relieve knots and tension. I came in today for a massage, and was a walk in and didn't call ahead so I had to wait 20 mins which was fine. They were busy. Then they took me to a room and made me wait probably another 15 minutes. I was busy and had other places I needed to be so that in itself was not great. Then, the lady I had was a little rough and I like deep pressure and deep tissue, but almost the whole massage was painful (I have fibromyalgia, but it's usually not a problem and doesn't feel that bad). So the first terrible thing that happened was that after she had started the massage already for a few minutes, she starts talking to google translate on her phone and asking if I am paying with credit card or cash. They did not collect my payment upfront before starting the massage, even though I had my wallet out and ready to do so, since I know that is how they always do it. So instead of taking my money upfront, she basically is asking me to get up while I am undressed and get my credit card out for her to process my payment. Umm, noo?! So freaking rude. So then she finally gets the hint after awkwardly talking back and forth on the translator, that I'm not doing that and will pay after we are done. Then, I had a really hard time relaxing after that cuz she made me so uncomfortable. It's already hard enough trusting a stranger and being undressed , let alone them demanding money from you while you are supposed to be doing something healthy and relaxing for yourself. Next terrible thing was at the end of the massage she started talking to google translate again to basically fat shame me ? She told me that I "need to exercise more" because my "muscles will get too stiff". Like first of all you don't know my life, you don't know my medical history. Sure I can exercise more but that should never be something that you say to a paying customer, not here, not anywhere! We should never be commenting about people's body or weight. So extremely rude. Another weird thing that has never happened ever before (I've been to hundreds of different Asian massage places in my time) was she took a q tip and literally wiped my messy makeup from my eye area . Like yeah I'm face down for 40 mins or more so my makeup is going to get messed up and I'm sure it's all over my face as well as my hair is a mess. But don't touch it? I don't understand. Just an awful experience today, makes me not want to go back which is really frustrating cuz it's the one closest to home and other times have been so much better. I hope they can correct these issues so that I can still go here but it was pretty bad today. read more

Run as fast as you can from this place. While the massage was fair, they demand twice as much of a tip from you and act as though you are doing them a disservice if you don't. Take heed and find a better place for a massage. read more

Fantastic deep massage. Language barriers for sure, but no real issue. She found my knots within 20 seconds of touching my neck. No need for talk! She just knew. If you NEED a massage, you will love it if you want a fancy spa day, not your place. No frills. If you're a hooty-tootie spa chick, not your vibe. Get over yourself and get a life. Extremely sketchy and unprofessional environment. Multiple interruptions during massage. Left the room several times and was on her phone majority of the time, so she was only using one hand. Cussed at me when I said I didn't want my feet touched. I left a 35% tip, which was extremely generous given the terrible experience I had, and she asked for more money! Unbelievable. I'd give this place a 3 out of 5. A so-so. I go there fairly often because I don't have to make an appointment. I like being able to come in on impulse. The massage itself is decent. Nothing that would be considered "therapeutic" but decent pressure that works out stress. That being said, I don't like being pressured about the tips. Today, for example, I had a 90 minute massage. $90 plus tax was $96. Afterward I was going to give a 20% tip, which would have been about $20. Instead the woman asked for $30. I did NOT want to do that but I did give her $25. I'm leery of going back. I don't like feeling pressured into things. read more

First mom calls to set appointment for 6... was told she could do 3, at 4pm and 3 at 5 pm...cool... we get there at 3:50 they do not speak ENGLISH VERY WELL AT ALL!!!! ...pushed into a room, And told to take our clothes off...Our massages ladies didn't get there until 4:20...they walked in with their coats on!!! We walked into this place on a Sunday afternoon, it didn't seem busy and the lady that greeted us got my husband and I in a single room. Unfortunately there was no one here that spoke English so it was extremely hard to understand or communicate anything. She started my massage and my hubby waited 20 minutes for someone to arrive for him. Turns out that they had to call someone to drive out to give his massage. People kept coming in during our session and there was a loud doorbell that rang every time someone came in through the front door ( needless to say that our session was not quiet/relaxing). The ladies also kept yelling/talking loud to each other from one room to the other. Not my idea of a relaxing massage. Will think twice before I come back. Prices seem to be reasonable but I'm sure we can get a better massage session elsewhere. Deep tissue was not deep tissue, more like a COLD lotion rub down. read more

I get back pain and I need a firm massage with stretching so I Drove 30 minutes to get an authentic thai massage. I asked for a 90 min half thai, half deep tissue massage and all I got was an overpriced run of the mill chinese style massage. Don't be fooled by all the fancy options, no matter what you ask for you will get a generic Chinese massage. I guess they assume Americans in the midwest don't know the difference and they can get away with it. I also didn't appricate the way I was treated, constant stopping of the massage to answer phones or help walk in customers...I was left with oil all over my face hands and body because the lady rushed to get to the next customer. read more

Had a wonderful massage at Sala Thai today, a Christmas gift from my lovely better-half. I have problems with my neck, shoulders and lower back. The massage therapist did an excellent job, was professional and thorough. She spoke very little English, but was able to find my trouble spots easily and helped relax those muscles. Sala Thai Massage is a horrible place to get a massage!!!!! I arrived on time on a Saturday morning. The therapist put me in a room next to a noisy lunch or ugly break room. She let me undress and was on the massage table for 25 minutes before she actually came back to the room! She started the massage late. She had no idea of where to start. The massage had no flow. First it was back , legs and then the front. She spent no time on any certain part of my body. It was all over the place. Then she stepped out 4 or 5 times to talk to other therapist who were shouting into the room. These interruptions made the massage very horrible!!! Also she was on her phone texting people during my massage. I asked her to stop because it's rude. She also asked for a $50.00 tip!!!!! Please read all reviews first. It may say 4.5 stars but be aware this is not your normal massage spa. We called before to set up appointments what types of massages we wanted. Since I wanted 30 mins foot massage also (only foot massage received was a punch to the heal and toes popped). We showed up early to fill out paperwork. They do not do ANY paperwork. You pay them first not after. They guide you to your room. Once in there they give you no direction and VERY little covering over your body. They were up on the bed with you on their knees. My head was in between her legs the whole time while she massaged my back. They talked almost the entire time. Massage felt more like pulling on skin then massaging muscles. My husband and I have been to several different massages places. We know how massage are suppose to feel. Normal massage places keep private parts covered. Most of the time I laid there completely naked. She even left the room while I had NOTHING ON for several minutes! Underwear gets pulled down without question. Door wasn't shut at any point during this massage just a makeshift curtain. We were so uncomfortable we went home and showered immediately. Days later and I am tense and bruised. Most of their negative reviews were responded to by the company stating "under new management". It's been a year and we had the same situation as those negative reviews. We were so upset after and felt dirty. They had the nerve to hassle us for a tip before we left. They kept saying "tips tips tips."
