I would not recommend this company…read more Our first interaction with the husband/owner was positive. He seemed genuine, told us our pool was in great condition, recommended we buy a pool robot, and suggested monthly maintenance. We followed his advice immediately and hired them for ongoing service because we trusted what he told us. Unfortunately, the actual service and communication after that were extremely disappointing. After a May cleaning, our pool turned green the very next day. They came back, added chemicals, and the pool was no longer green, but it stayed hazy and never seemed to be fully corrected. We continued paying this company for services over several months, often paying more than what appeared to be their monthly rate, yet we never received clear service reports, explanations, or a real plan to fix the ongoing issues. At one point while we were out of town, their pool maintenance person turned on our water hose at the pool and never told us. We have a recording showing this. No report was provided and no notice was given. Had we not come home the next morning, the situation could have become a much bigger problem. That should never happen without notifying the homeowner. The final straw was when my husband asked them to come clean the pool. They came out, but when he got home, the pool looked the same. He sent photos and raised a valid concern. Instead of responding professionally, the wife/owner became defensive, rude, and disrespectful. The next morning, before I had ever spoken to her, she texted my husband referring to us as "you people" and called us "horrible and disgusting people." When I spoke with her for the first time on Friday, June 26, 2026, around 8:35 a.m., she was condescending and dismissive. I asked to speak with her husband, and that request was ignored. This company was paid for months, provided poor communication, failed to resolve the pool issues, gave no proper reports, and handled a legitimate customer concern with insults instead of professionalism. Based on my experience, they are not reliable, not transparent, and not a company I would trust with my property again. What makes this worse is that we had not spoken to, confronted, or mistreated any of their employees or contractors during these visits. Most of the time, we were not even home when they came. This was the first time either of us directly raised a concern with anyone from the company, and up until that morning, they did not even have anything from me beyond my email address for payment. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the owner became hostile, told us to "find another company," accused us of treating them "like crap," and then called us "HORRIBLE people" and "disgusting humans." That is not acceptable behavior from any business owner. We paid this company for months, received no clear reports, no consistent communication, and no real resolution to the pool issues. When we finally questioned the service, we were insulted and blocked. Based on this experience, I would not trust this company with my property, my money, or basic professional communication. Update: After my review, this situation escalated even further. The owner came to my home uninvited over a disputed $343 bill for services we believe were not properly rendered. She banged on our door, recorded me and my minor child during a his diaper change while inside our home, and continued demanding payment instead of handling the dispute professionally. During that same visit, she also punched in a car mirror in our driveway with her hand. I am posting the photos/videos so people can see the behavior for themselves. After we sent a clear no-contact message stating that any billing dispute needed to go through proper legal channels only, the company contacted us again and threatened to put a lien on our home. This has gone far beyond poor pool service. In my opinion, this became intimidation over a disputed charge. A business owner should not show up at a customer's home, record their family, touch someone's vehicle, and continue contacting them after being told not to. I stand by my review and have preserved all documentation.

Needless to say, it didn't hold up and even had the wrong pump. It was for an above ground pool, not our 16' x 32' pool. Anyway, everything broke down two years ago just when we were getting ready to close it for the season. due to unforeseen circumstance, the pool was never properly closed and it became a giant cement pond that the bullfrogs came to call their own. My husband had tried and I knew something was off because that wasn't like him at all (he's been diagnosed with dementia). Anyway, I saved my money and had Aiken Pools come out and give me an estimate to get this pool back in working order. They were prompt and courteous and professional in every way possible. I'm a professional artist and they were great working around my schedule. The pumped the pool out, installed the new liner, installed the new equipment. Everything was perfect.. we turned it on and it flipped the breaker in the house.. then the pool pump burnt up. They were out the next day to replace it and that pump bit the dust. The electrician came out and changed the breaker, no good.. we had DJ the equipment tech and the electrician out numerous times trying to figure this out. Throughout the entire process Aiken Pool Company went above and beyond in helping us get this pool going. We are not rich, we live on a fixed income and Aiken Pool Company worked tirelessly to help us find an economical way to take care of this. I give Aiken Pool Company a ten for professionalism and definitely a ten For their employees..

He said he would have a technician come the following Tuesday but would need a $250 deposit for the pool heater diagnostic. We discussed replacing the pool light, and he said it would be easy if it were only a bulb replacement. I faithfully paid by that Saturday. However, it was all downhill from there. Despite the promised visit from a technician on Tuesday, no one showed up. Since I had already paid, I felt compelled to try again. I went back to ASP.com (corporate channel) and wrote my second request for pool light service this past Wednesday evening, letting them know we had a pool party on Saturday. The technician came yesterday only to diagnose a heat pump issue. He did not replace the light. I received an invoice for $150.00 for the diagnostic, for which I had already paid $250.00. So, I just got off the phone with Jimmy. He said he only put on the schedule to look at the diagnostic. I responded that we needed that pool light replaced. He informed me that he was having trouble getting lights, and they had other customers who needed lights. Remember, he just told me last week that it would not be a problem if it were only changing a light bulb. And, he never looked at the light, so he has no way of knowing whether it was a bulb or some other issue. The most troubling part of this experience is the discrepancy in the invoice. It clearly states $150.00, but I was charged $250.00. When I questioned Jimmy about this, he simply dismissed it as an error on the invoice. I am deeply disappointed with Jimmy's customer service and his lack of transparency. Throughout our conversation, he seemed unsure and evasive, which did not come across as genuine. He should have informed me about the potential bulb issue a week ago and should have reimbursed me $100, as the invoice clearly shows an overcharge. I would go elsewhere for your pool service needs if I were you. I will not be taking any more chances on them.
