The people I have worked with in the pool store have always been great. I recently dealt with Allie in spa department and she was not very helpful. I called many times and could not get anyone to answer. Finally we were going to order a part and she was unhelpful ,impatient and rude . Price was insane. I understand they are in business to make a profit but this was ridiculous. Decided to go with someone else. read more

I have had a pool from griffins for 21 years now I have had 1 other liner put in besides the original one this year was the night mare of it all. 21 years of service tarnished. start off with the representative at the store we're great and helpful, we ordered our liner in February and was told it would be June before we could get it in. ok did not want to wait that long but we are not their only customers so wasn't happy but I understood it. Having this liner put in we had to have a new skimmer installed because the old one was cracked from the concrete settling. we were told it was $300 for the skimmer and $400 to install it. they do not break up the concrete it had to do that. so I did. as June was getting closer we had not head anything on our liner so we called. we found out they had us down for the wrong liner and fortunately it was caught before it was ordered. no one notified us they were coming to install the liner they just showed up a the house. I work 30 miles away and had meeting set up all throughout the day, so I was driving back and forth checking on the status. my wife was home trying to keep me updated as they worked. she said the skimmer took about 1 hour to install and he had to dig about a foot down to cut the pipe. now we have nothing but sand around the pool so no hard dirt. I was not happy about $400 for 1 hour work but they have you over a barrel it had to be done. so now the liner is in and we filled the pool, I noticed that I was losing about a inch of water a day. now before the liner was put in I was not losing any water, so I called and talked to them they said they would send some one out buttttt if it was not the liner there was a $275 charge for finding the leak. Again over a barrel. So had them come out and the leak was a seal on the jet at the steps. When asked how to change the seal I was told I would either have to cut a hole in the concrete or break it up the jet has a nut on the back side and that's how you get it off. The person repaired it with putt the best he could. he was nice and professional and he was not a griffin employee. So then I was contacted by griffins wanting the $275, I questioned them on why I have to pay for the leak detection when it wasn't leaking before they installed the liner, and why didn't they check the seal since they were less than a foot from it when they installed the liner. Her reply was we only do the liner they do not check anything else. Now I do not know about anyone else but by the time I paid for the liner and skinner I was expecting everything would be good to go. Now I also had to replace my ladder on the deep end and to my surprise it's not a standard ladder it was a $700 ladder. So upon still talking to the service department about all the issues I told her that $5500 for a liner, $700 for the skimmer and installation, $700 for a ladder and now I am being hit with a $275 charge. I told her that when I installed the pool it only cost $12000, her reply was laughing prices have gone up. Wrong answer I am the customer and if this is the way they are going to treat someone who just dropped close to $7000 with them shows no respect. So with that 21 years of service just went down the tubes with the installation of 1 liner. Did not want it put in for free but the extra (skimmer and leak detection) to me was excessively over priced. I would shop around. read more

Avoid at all cost! These people lie they take your money and refused to offer refunds. We were lucky in that we got our refund because we used American Express and therefore Would've been refunded our deposit of $1000. When I explain that to the manager she finally decided she would concur and give us our refund back. However the sales people live through their teeth in order to obtain your business knowing full well that what they tell you is a complete lie we were told there were no hot tubs anywhere in the area that was available for immediate purchase we have been to seven different stores that have immediate availability. We were also told that we would have delivery by January 15 and now we are being told we will be lucky if we get it by the beginning of March but again there's no guarantees despite the written contract. I would never recommend this place to even my ex-husband or worst enemy! Find a different place for any and all of your pool or spa needs read more

I purchased a pool from Griffin Pools in March 2019, so it's just over 3 1/2yrs old. They have always been helpful and a pleasure to deal with, until today. I went to remove my salt cell for the winter and install the spacer tube. I unscrewed the top and bottom plastic pieces that hold the salt cell in place, installed the spacer tube and tightened the plastic pieces that screw onto the spacer tube. This was all done by hand, no tools. I started my pump to check for leaks and everything was going well then after about a minute the top piece that screws onto the spacer tube started to leak at a seam about 1/4" down from the top, a seam that goes around circumference of the plastic locking piece. I called the store and a man answered, I explained the situation to him, and his attitude was one of indifference, even a bit flippant. He implied that I must've cracked it by using a wrench to unscrew it when I explained that I unscrewed and re-tightened it by hand he said I have to use a wrench to unscrew them and well things crack. His attitude was basically too bad. He gave me the number to the service dept which I called to schedule an appointment to have it fixed. When I called the service dept my call was answered, and I could hear someone talking in the background, but no one ever came to the phone to talk with me and after about a minute the call disconnected. I needed some cell cleaner to clean my salt cell, so I went to the store to talk to someone about the issue and purchase the cell cleaner. They were out of cell cleaner. There was a woman behind the counter where they test water and a young man on the showroom floor. I approached him and began to explain my issue and asked if he was the person I spoke to earlier, he said no it may have been Travis. I tried to show him a picture of where it was leaking, and he just walked away. Didn't say let me get Travis, didn't say I'll be right back, didn't say anything just walked away. I was disappointed to have this piece fail at a seam in just 3 1/2 yrs in what appears to be a manufacturers defect that will cost me about $200 to have repaired but what was truly disappointing is the way I was treated as a customer both on the phone and in the store. I left the store feeling like they don't care about their customers, that once you have spent tens of thousands of dollars on a pool from them, they literally just walk away from you in the store. This was on the heels of an LED light that failed in August of this year that cost me almost $1,000.00 to have replaced. An LED light that is supposed to last about 10,000 hours, lasted me maybe 200 hours. Even if I used the light for 1000 hours a year it should last about 10 yrs not 3 1/2. In addition, after it was installed, it still doesn't work properly as the new light isn't in synch with the other original light when using some of the color modes like party, Caribbean, etc. I am extremely disappointed with how I was treated by their staff on the phone and in the store. read more

They test the water while I'm standing there, provide me with a printed instructions and product suggestions. I purchased a pool liner from them. After a couple of years it began to tear. I called them. They said they had no record of me purchasing a liner from them and the lady nastily said "we have a triple backup system and we don't have any record of you". So, I found my receipt. No apology, nada. They come out and look at the liner and the guy says, it looks like you cut it. I was so shocked I was at a loss for words except to say I didn't cut it. They called me later to say they weren't covering it. Don't trust them to stand behind their work and keep your receipt. read more

The staff at the lLexington is great. However, I have been very disappointed with their service department. In the summer of 2016, they replaced my pool pump. In Oct of 2017, the pump quit again. The service guy arrived and had the pump running within about ten minutes. He replaced the capacitor, which is a $10 part. My bill for the service was $180. I have no problem paying for a service call, but $170 for a ten minute visit is outrageous IMO. The replacement capacitor failed in less than a month, so once again my pump was out of commission. This time I replaced the capacitor myself with a better quality one. I ordered it through Amazon for $17. Requests for a call back from the service department and from the owner Stanley were evidently ignored. I have chosen to move on to another pool company. read more

This is our home away from home in the summer time. Wonderful family run business. I think we end up talking more than shopping. Everyone is polite and kind. They are very knowledgeable about pools and servicing. In the summer time don't get discouraged if you have to wait. The are very busy. Yes, they can be pricey on certain items, but they do have great prompt service if you ever need help...try asking a Wal-Mart associate pool related questions.. ya dig? read more

I am in construction and have been for 15 years. When I decided to build a pool I had heard all of the horror stories and had experience with bad subs and vendors, so I knew what to look for and what questions to ask. Griffin pools did an excellent job and did not disappoint in any aspect. They were very timely and did not ask for payment until the job was completed in full and to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend them for your pool build. They are also very knowledgeable when it comes to maintenance and chemicals. It's nice that over the past 26 years a lot of same people have worked with this company, knowing you by name when you go into the store. BEWARE!!! This is the worst pool company you could ever consider!! They are rude, deliver horrible workmanship, and lie to you. In March, we began the process of putting in a pool with Griffin. They didn't finish until July. The had to put 2 liners in, and replace a defective light, After only a couple of months, we have multiple cracks all over the pool deck. They cut into our sprinkler system. They messed up a section of our fence. We also purchased a spa from them. Their salesman told us that the electrical hook-up for that would be a "nominal fee".......it's more like $1,500. When we obtained estimates for the electric, we were told by 2 different electricians that the electric work done for the pool by Griffin had multiple code violations. One of the electricians told us that they were working on another bad code violation problem with another Griffin customer. Their salesman also told us that he would throw their "Easy touch remote" in the package, and wrote it on the estimate. Later, when we asked for it, the salesman lied and said he never offered it.....then after showing them the estimate, the GM claims that he was referring to the buttons on the filter panel. We called Griffin and asked someone there about the variations of filter panels, the person told us that there wasn't any.....so, the GM lies too. Save yourself a lot of stress....call somebody else!!!!!! read more

I called the store to see if they move hot tubs. The lady that answered the phone said yes. She gave me the phone number for their service department. I called at 9:30ish and spoke to a lady. Explained I needed a hot tub moved. She said she would have Nick call me. At 2:30pm I call back and ask to speak to Nick. He wasn't available. I explained I still hadn't heard from him. She wasn't pleased I called back and told me he would call by the end of the day so I didn't need to call again. I called again at 4:55pm... I received their voice mail. I left a message begging them to call me. This morning I called the store and asked for the manager or owner. The guy answering the phone said he wasn't available but to explain what I needed and he'd have Rob return my call. I told him the whole story. Rob never called back. The hot tub I was speaking of is no longer available. I spent $700 at Lowe's over the weekend to build a small patio to put the hot tub on. The patio items were delivered so now I'm stuck with the materials for a 9X9 patio and no hot tub and not even a call back. I would have paid anything they asked I purchased an Egg grill and several Yeti items from them... I won't ever and I mean EVER purchase another item from them! I also promise to make it my mission in life to tell this story to every single person I know!!! I am beyond upset about this and again, EVERYBODY I come in contact will know! read more
