With only 4 or 5 tables, this restaurant gives you a view of the open kitchen from every table. The chef keeps his kitchen orderly and spotless. This is a good stop for a quick lunch. If I had one note for the chef, it is that the egg in ramen is traditionally served soft boiled, with the yolk still a little runny. Mexico does love to hard boil eggs.

What happens next is sweetly comical as representatives from each of the purveyors arrives at your table with a menu for you to study. How they know who to come back to is a mystery but one noticed me studying her menu long enough that she returned and, aside from drinks, all food I ordered was from her outpost. This was my sole experience eating Southeast Asian food in Mexico and I'm happy to report that it was good. I also saw burgers being delivered to another table from another stand and they looked great too. If you don't know that you're looking for Mercado del Carmen you're unlikely to notice it so have the address handy as you head there. Good food, something for everyone, and a fun concept.
