    Katsu chicken Bento box

Sweet little spot... nice staff and quick food Got the bento box and enjoyed it very much. The soup was delicious, the salad was extra chilly and the chicken was fried nice and crispy. 4.5 stars

My granddaughter loves Japanese food, so we weren't surprised when she wanted to go to a Japanese Restaurant for her 5th birthday. My son made reservations as there were 32 of us attending. Even with the reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. But that was okay, they were absolutely packed, people were lined up out the door. They were able to seat us all together and that was what mattered It was very dark in there, so I didn't take any photos of the decor. However, it was very nice. Our chef was good, but there wasn't very much fanfare that you normally would expect at a Japanese restaurant, which was a little disappointing. I believe that was because they were so busy they were basically trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible. As for the food, it was very good. I had the filet mignon and it was yummy, I just wish the cuts had been a little bigger instead of baby size. The rice, noodles, veggies and yum yum sauce were very good. We also were there during happy hour, so drinks were two for one. I got the White Russian, and it was very alcohol forward. Overall, we had a nice experience here. My only ding was for not having the usual fanfare from the chef, which is what my granddaughter wanted for her birthday dinner. Other than that, I would definitely recommend that you give them a try.

    Hibachi

The food was amazing and incredibly priced. They guarantee you'll be filled and won't finish your plate with the amount of food they give you. The service was great and hibachi was incredibly impressive. The restaurant as a whole was themed and very well taken care of. Would definitely visit again!

The food was delicious. Service was over the top! It is a nice restaurant. They have one side hibachi, one side regular sit down, and a bar in the middle. They do lunch specials till 3 pm, including the hibachi. You should check it out. Oh, did I mention they also do ramen? The lady's bowl was huge and looked delicious. We had their sushi lunch special.

Service is always perfect and so is the food. The appetizers, sushi and happy hour is a big reason we come here also. There is a variety of sushi and kitchen appetizers to try. Good sized portions and reasonable lunch and dinner prices as well. The kind of place where you want to try everything on the menu. I recommend the Avocado Ball to start. If I could improve one thing it'd be to have them expand the menu to make it more "Asian Fusion" so you could try different types of dishes, like Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, etc.. Also, add a Happy Hour small bites ( dim sum?)menu at a good price. Then it would be perfect. This location on Bichara has been my favorite restaurant since we moved here, and congrats to the staff for consistently making it a fun place to go!

It was a fun lively atmosphere, great quality sushi and the 2 for 1 happy hour can't be beat! Beautiful presentation too. We have been here twice, both time's excellent food. We definitely recommend.

Last night, I was in the mood for sushi and sashimi, so I found this fantastic restaurant on Yelp and decided to try it for dinner. When I arrived, the place was bustling, and everybody seemed to be having a good time, laughing and enjoying their night out. I was promptly seated, and while I was sitting, I watched the servers walking by with the delicious meals they were delivering. The atmosphere was pretty authentic for a sushi restaurant. My server was knowledgeable, kept my drinks filled, and gave me an excellent recommendation. I had the sushi sashimi platter, which came with a side of soup and a ginger salad, and I must say the meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return. The prices were reasonable; if you're in the area, don't hesitate to try them.

Diablo roll, left a little to be desired

Pretty good sushi! A little heavy on the avocado on the salmon avocado rolls and the diablo roll was missing a little something (maybe a suace or cream cheese). But overall good rolls, reasonable price, and quick service.

REVIEW SAKURA JAPANESE RESTAURANT Today, 31 December 2025,…read moremy wife and I decided to have lunch at the Sakura Japanese restaurant in Colony Plaza, The Villages, Florida. We arrived at 1400 and there was a large number of people eating lunch, but seating remained available and our waiter soon appeared. We ordered a CocaCola and Green Tea while we perused the menu. My wife decided on the Tempura Bento box with pork katsu, while I chose the lunch combination of sushi and sashimi with salad and soup. We were both delighted! I found the sushi/sashimi combination to be delicious; more than I could comfortably eat after the salad with carrot-ginger dressing and clear soup. I took a taste of her pork katsu and found it surprisingly moist (much more moist and appealing than other Sakura restaurants here in The Villages). I was pleased that my tea was refilled on request. (One interesting aside: My sashimi plate was decorated by a variety of fresh spice leaves and a mysterious nest of what appeared to be shredded daikon radish with a green glow emanating from within. The green glow turned out to be a small battery powered green LED for ambiance!) All in all, an appealing performance by this Sakura at Colony Plaza; we shall return.

Worst meal I have had in quite a while…read more The waitress was given three other tables they told us after we were seated and we waited an unusually long time to even order out food. My mother was a bit upset how long we sat there. Next, everyone's meal came except my order so I got to watch everyone eat. They did bring my salad out finally, but the Cesar dressing was cheep bottled and not actually Cesar dressing (disappointing) and I ate the house salad pretty much dry... for a place that puts off a fancy vibe, for a 9$ small house salad you would think the Cesar dressing would actually be real and not some poor imitation from a bottle. then Finally my order came after everyone was already half done. The Oysters Rockefeller were hardly warm and were All full of shell bits, almost uneatable...with rubbery bacon bits from a bag in large amounts over the whole. Poor service, poor food, just gross. UPDATE since posting... I intermittently fast and this was the first thing I ate yesterday, since then I have been up - on and off all night - in the bathroom 5 times with the runs... laying in bed now still feeling sickly. Before this I have not had or been sick from anything since last summer and I eat food all over the country, their food totally made me ill. -1 star. Boooo

A Somber Sushi Soirée with Room for Improvement (2 out of…read more5) My father and I decided to explore the All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi experience at this local restaurant, arriving promptly at 5:07 PM--a time I noted for reasons that would later become relevant. At first glance, the restaurant had a quiet charm, though it leaned more toward somber than serene. Aside from us and one other couple, the dining room was notably empty, which set the tone for the evening. We were seated quickly and placed an order that included a variety of sushi rolls, appetizers, and fried rice. Unfortunately, the service was sluggish noticeably so. Given the strict 90-minute dining limit, the extended wait times for food (and even for something as simple as extra napkins) felt more strategic than situational. To the food: The appetizers were a mixed bag. The shrimp tempura had an odd aftertaste, and it was clear the shrimp hadn't been properly cleaned always a disappointing oversight. The grilled beef skewers bore little resemblance to the menu description and were drenched in an overly sweet sauce that overwhelmed the meat. On a more positive note, the gyoza were pleasantly crispy and flavorful, and the spring rolls, while unremarkable, were decent. As for the sushi, it was serviceable but underwhelming. The rice-to-fish ratio leaned heavily in favor of rice, and the overall freshness left something to be desired. The teriyaki beef was actually quite tasty but again, it arrived swimming in sauce next time (if there were to be one), I'd recommend ordering it on the side to truly enjoy the meat. The service, regrettably, remained cold throughout the meal. At exactly 6:12 PM, our server informed us that our 90-minute window had expired despite the math suggesting otherwise. Perhaps she was simply having a rough day, so I'll leave it at that. In the end, while taste is indeed subjective, especially when it comes to sushi, I've had far more memorable and satisfying experiences elsewhere. For us, this visit fell flat, both in flavor and hospitality. Sadly, it's not a place I see myself returning to anytime soon. NOTE: Tips are included so be careful as you may end up tipping twice.
