I was thrown off the moment I stepped in due to the ordering process of ordering then sit down like a fast food joint. Menu: Miso Soup lots of flavor. The sushi was a bit smaller than I anticipated but I have no complaints on the taste. The fried rice though it didnt have veggies, was still delicious with the flavorful shrimp. Ive tried making my crab rangoon before and it didnt come out as good as these from Sakura Express. They are also very good with the yummy sauce. Currently, (29 March 2021) because of the managements decision to totally protect the staff, the indoor dining has been suspended. This has caused the food service to be a little changed, but the ability to produce good Japanese hibachi, Japanese noodle, or Japanese rice dishes has not. Notice I said Japanese: This restaurant is committed to serving only food with a Nippon flavor. They do not do Chinese in any form (General Po's chicken does not march here), and the staff are very firm against making it when asked to do so. The absolute best item on the menu is its Bento Boxes. What I miss most from its indoor dining experience is the traditional black lacquer compartmented box, each holding its sacred entrée portions that Bento box lovers want. In the middle of that box stand the traditional Wasabi and pink leave mix, hiding its aromatic and heated kick in the mouth and throat when eaten. A warning to the new Japanese food eater: take only a small portion of the wasabi, about the size of a small pea into the mouth during dining. The traditional cooking of chicken, steak, and shrimp , or a combination of all listed, is performed when the dining room is open to view, and really shows off the skill of preparer. The food prepare is always hot, never over cooked, and if you call in ahead: ready for pick up between 10-15 minutes after ordering. The meals are identified by the telephone number: its not recommended to have your phone number hidden when ordering by phone, to speed your process. Open dining sushi preparation by the sushi chef, in my opinion could potentially train the person observing the process to doing it yourself. Its fun to watch, and the preparer makes many varieties. Prices vary: usually $8.00 for lunch items, $13.00-15.00 for dinner items. And yes, they give away wooden chopsticks with meal so you can try and eat as our Nippon friends in Japan do. I heartily recommend that when full inside dining is reinstated by the management, a visit with friends should be initiated. You will be glad you did. read more

But don't let the express name, ordering experience, and the fair pricing fool you into thinking that the food is frozen and reheated. The food all taste very fresh. The Express part comes from how quickly your food will arrive. My steak and shrimp arrived a few minutes after I ordered it. The shrimp did not have an overpowering fishy taste that frozen shrimp will have. The sauce used for the meal was good and thick and really complimented the meal. The vegetables were also very tasty. My family had ordered from here while I was out of town so they brought me along on the next visit. The food was excellent and definitely worth a return trip. The lady who took our order left something to be desired. She acted like it was an intrusion on her time to take our orders. The food is never undercooked nor overcooked, so my compliments always go to the chefs. The best time to go is around 3-8 if you want less people to be in there. If you like the rush hour feel, go as soon as they open at 11-1. They also have a very detailed and easy-to-read menu with information about each item in case you have any questions. They have a 10% discount for first responders. I usually come before work at 12, and I 100% of the time always see people in their military uniform lol. Overall, a solid 10/10. She stated the owner doesn't allow dine in customers to get lids. This is after I paid $11 for my meal, ate lunch with 10 co-workers who also spent $10-15 each, and she provided me with a Styrofoam to-go box and a little plastic container for my sauce.
