I have owed this spot a review since FOREVER. I used to come to this location all the time when it was Pour Judgment and while I was sad to see Tan and the gang go, Sakura is definitely doing the spot justice! They have made everything bright and welcoming inside. While it is a small space they have the capability to seat a variety of group sizes. Their menu is a little overwhelming as they have a LOT to choose from. I love their sushi and my fiance loves their bento boxes. Everything is always delicious and the plating for the sushi is a work of art! The staff are friendly and efficient. They prices are very fair. This is a great place to come for sushi! read more

You can never go wrong with delicious sushi The service was phenomenal, we felt welcomed and seen and our waters were never empty. The restaurant had a nice mom and pop shop vibe with a ton of seating. Parking was street parking so thankfully there were open parking spaces when we arrived. read more

This is nice little casual Japanese restaurant in the heart of downtown Long Beach. I just happen to be in the area and was craving some Japanese food. The reason why I did not give it a full 5 on it. No fault on them. Great location, however, very poor parking situation. And small restaurant. They have several parking spaces off the street and across the street. Low traffic but hard to find parking spots, if it is busy. Just so happen to go during the week day and during lunch hours. So lucked out. This is a wonderful restaurant if you are in the area. It is not a big location. You are greeted to a wonderful and friendly staff. You are welcome to sit anywhere you like or the staff can greet you and ask you where you prefer to sit. They offer several options to dine in. You may choose the sushi bar, booth seating, booth with chairs on the other side, and of course full table seating. The seating arrangements come cushions for you for the bottom and booths have it padded for your back. Regular chairs are just hard wood backing and little padding for them. Started out the food journey with Tuna Tataki (Seared tuna w. scallion and masago and ponzu sauce). Ordered the shrimp tempura bento box and ask for regular rice instead of fried rice. Ask for salad instead of miso soup. Also an order of sashimi lunch with salad. (10 pcs assorted raw fish w. white rice). The salad when you order it is mayonnaise base not your typical ginger dressing. Very good a sweet dressing taste. Hard to describe it but it is good. The food was delicious. Not bad for the area. I know it does not seem that busy. They recently opened. I am not sure how long those? And it was during the middle of the week during lunch. However, they were very busy with to go orders for lunch. I love how they do semi-crushed ice for your fountain drinks. Unlimited refills for them. If you are thirsty. I do not recommend regular ones. They may change you per drink. Definitely recommend giving them a try if you are in the area. If you are really hungry for sushi. Try your hand at the Love Boat (10 pcs sushi, 18 pcs sashimi w. rainbow roll and black dragon roll). If you have a large group. Highly recommend you order it to go. Due to limited seating. The staff is very friendly and the food is amazing! They offer military discount with ID. We stopped here to eat dinner on a Saturday night around 5 pm. It's a small place, but wasn't busy, which is surprising because the food was very tasty! We ordered the clear soup and I love how much onions and mushrooms came in it! The vegetable spring rolls were a little mushy, but I still enjoyed eating them! The edamame was salty and delightful! I don't eat anything raw, so I normally go for the chicken or shrimp tempura roll! It was so good! We also tried the chicken yakisobi and it was nice as well. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They filled our drinks up consistently and the serving sizes were perfect! The restaurant looks clean and is in the cutest location! Stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. My wife ordered the Philadelphia roll and spicy tuna roll -- both were fresh, well-made, and hit the spot. I went with the house special fried rice, and it was excellent -- flavorful, good portion, and cooked just right. No complaints there at all. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made for a comfortable dining experience. The only minor downside was the edamame -- it was a little plain and could've used a bit more seasoning, but that's a small thing in an otherwise great meal. We'll definitely be back! read more

I looked for a long time for good sushi in Biloxi and long beach. Everywhere was pretty awful. I ran across this place and it seemed nice. Pretty clean and the staff is pretty awesome!!! Now on to the food. I was not expecting how good the presentation was gonna be and how delicious the food was. This food looked amazing and tasted even better. The quality is really good. The rice was amazing and well seasoned. The fish excellent quality. Very tender and juicy. This will be my regular sushi spot for sure.
