The only negative thing that I have to say about the experience is that I had asked when we sat down for the loan what percentage the rates started at. We were told they started at 5.25%. My sister has good credit so I wasn't expecting her payment to fall in a much higher percentage bucket. We were good with the price of the vehicle, and the warranty that she added on. However, and this is a big however, until we were signing the documents, did we see for the first time that the loan she was being given was at over 14% APR. This is absolutely ridiculous and unheard of for somebody who has good credit. We wasted no time going over to Navy Federal and securing her a proper loan at a reasonable rate. The amount that Carmax was trying to charge her in interest was more than half of what the vehicle cost with the add-ons. Let that sink in. Do not sign blindly and make sure you understand what you would be paying in interest. I highly recommend getting pre-approved elsewhere for a loan first and not using their financing. You have three days to get a loan elsewhere and have it changed over, but I would suggest making sure you're eligible before you go car broke. We didn't see any of that until half way through signing the contract. Kind of crazy!

CARMAX does not do repairs on Tesla's, they will send you to the Tesla dealership on military highway. Once there, Tesla does not accept third-party warranties you will have to pay for all repairs out-of-pocket with a hope of reimbursement from Max Care. If they approve the reimbursement, it will take 3 to 4 weeks. It's been a cluster bomb. I hope to save someone a ton of trouble and Time.

For me, every time I have come here has been an amazing, gracious experience. I was sold my car by the dapper C.J. Morris, who is a man that keeps things real. Each time I came in afterward he recognizes me and shakes my hand. Drivers World has a good policy of "price as marked" with no haggling, since their prices are already low. I don't know about that across the board, but my 2010 Hyundai Accent was a great deal. I have had two issue happen with my car since its purchase. The first was when my spare key came in from the Hyundai Mother Ship. We tried it out and it got stuck in the ignition! Samantha, in their service dept., immediately got me a rental and called a locksmith to look at it the next day. My car was fixed up that next day too, the locksmith had to re-cut part of the key. My second issue was when my car suddenly didn't start one day after work. I took a panicked trip in the tow truck to Drivers World where they got me a loaner car that night. They called me in the morning and told me it was the starter. I returned my loaner and they got me a rental; a few days later I picked up my car from Checkered Flag Hyundai. So far, everything has been covered and I always get treated nice there. I had a great buying experience and their awesome service has continued. Hopefully all my visits will be this good.

I came in with a…read moretough situation after a major mechanical failure of my old vehicle, negative equity to deal with, and a tight schedule with work and kids' sports. I felt like finally the universe was on my side as Leo and his team helped me figure out all the fun financials of a low valued trade in and getting into the new-to-me vehicle that my family and I needed. The genuine kindness from Leo and Danny and Fatima (I'm sorry who else's name I may have forgotten) has restored my faith in car dealerships and I may never go anywhere but RK again. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, please do yourself a good service and go to RK Chevy and ask for Leo. He will literally run from building to building, texting you updates as he works on making things happen. Just don't be surprised if you have to beat down a line of other customers who are there to follow up with him. He's that good. As I said the day he handed me my new keys, "It may only be April, but it's LEO seasonnnn!"

That changed the moment I spoke with Moustafa, the sales manager. I explained exactly what I was looking for, and he was refreshingly honest--he let me know it might be tough, but not impossible. Although they didn't have anything at the time, he promised to keep an eye out. Just two days later, I got a text: "I think I found the one." A trade-in had just come in, and he thought it could be the perfect fit. I headed over after work and was introduced to Doug Whitmore, the sales rep who made the entire experience an absolute pleasure. Doug was funny, kind, genuine, and incredibly easy to work with. He made what is usually a stressful process feel simple and even enjoyable. If you're in the market for a new Chevrolet or a dependable used car, do yourself a favor and reach out to Doug Whitmore at RK Chevrolet. He's a true professional who genuinely cares, and I'm confident you'll drive away just as satisfied as I did

Having already performed 30 hours of research on my own, I had narrowed down to a specific new…read morevehicle for our daughter's first car - the latest safety features in our price range. Armed with Truecar quotes (you should research Truecar shortcomings) I competed the best price and accessories amongst the dealers locally and within 3 hours, but was not convinced it was the best deal I could get. It didn't help that one of the dealers said he would beat any of the other dealers by $500. As if to say, you do all the work on negotiating a price instead of me offering you the best deal I can give you, and then I'll snipe your business at the end. I was running out of time, but I had heard about car concierge services early in my research. On a whim at 945pm on a Saturday I googled something local, then found a Virginian Pilot article on Southern Twist Consulting. The next morning Sunday, I got an email from Carolyn letting me know she would contact me later that day. We talked for about 20 minutes, including other important safety suggestions. Monday, Carolyn presented several options that convinced me to completely shift our search...if only I had found her a couple weeks earlier! Tuesday, Carolyn brought cars to my daughter for her to test while we were at work. What a time savings! Wednesday she presented a highly competitive offer, likely several hundreds less than than what would have taken me days to haggle amongst dealers. The kicker was that she presented a very valid option for me to consider...leasing. I've always been opposed to leasing BUT it was really the way to go for our situation. Newer car with the safest features at a monthly cost we could afford. In a few years if we want the latest in safety features or if our daughter decides she wants something different, we can get a newer model or a different vehicle altogether. She likely will not be driving that much, and f she is able to take really good care of the car, the car could be worth more than the cost of buying it at the end of the lease. There's a lot more to leasing than I had realized until now. The fees are very low. Consider all the hard work, expertise and local connections Carolyn brings to the table. And, all the time she saves you. Plus, she'll probably get you a better deal that would cover the fees anyway. Do yourself a favor and at least give her a call the next time you are looking for a new or even a used car.

Be sure to have NADA pricing on the particular vehicle you want to offer yourself a better chance with negotiations. However, the vehicles they had on the lot were in better shape in regards to the exterior and interior quality than most used vehicles I had looked at. After my first day of driving my new vehicle, a check engine and check VSC light came on in the dash. I called the owner and he talked with his mechanic that works next door and it appeared that both the mechanic and owner had known about the problem and simply reset the fault code. This is understandable as many people freak out when they see a check engine light, ESPECIALLY if they are decided whether to buy the car or not. The fix was a simple one and I just wished they had done some research and fixed the problem while the car was still in the lot. However, the owner and mechanic were extremely nice and helpful in fixing it quickly and free of charge. Buying a used vehicle you can expect a few repairs and maintenance but it was nice to see that the car had recently had oil changed and was overall in great working condition. I aboslutely love my new Lexus and I'm happy with the price I paid for it - even though there may be $1000 worth of repairs in the new future if the simple fix doesn't work out and a major repair needs to be done. As for the salesman that sold me the vehicle, I got used car salesman vibes and honestly would rather not have had to listen to him tell me that I was getting the best possible deal, at the best dealership in town, and everything else that he could possibly say is the best they were the "best". It was just kind of a waste of time but maybe I just read straight through it and found it annoying because as I too work in sales.
