They get 4.5 stars. The quality of most dishes is pretty good (with the notable exception of grilled squid, beef udon soup & eel sushi pizza) & you get dishes you don't get everywhere like beef sashimi, tuna tataki & avocado salad. Our waitress came and handed us an iPad for ordering, and asked what drinks we would like. Got our drinks, and we started ordering. We ordered a lot of sashimi, a couple of hand rolls, beef sashimi, dumplings, fried tofu, shrimp and veggie tempuras. Food was alright. I feel like quality of food from ayce sushi establishments isn't what it used to be. My mom, who isn't a picky eater even said it wasn't that great or fresh. There was a fruit fly that kept bothering us all night long. I looked up and there was like 4-5 on the wall just chilling. Total turn off. We didn't order desserts as we just wanted to leave. First off, "Eva" gave me two CHICKEN teriyaki and blamed me for ordering wrong but too bad for her I wrote down everything and remembered exactly what she said on the phone- she didn't repeat my order like she said she did. Secondly , during the call she told me I was over by 3 pcs when in fact I was only at 95pcs- again, I wrote down my order and did the math. I had her repeat my order and number of pieces then asked her to give me total number of pieces..she still insisted I was over 100pcs so I ended up doing the math for her and she both agreed I was only at 95pcs. Thirdly, I'm a returning customer who always order party trays and more. I am super disappointed with the honesty and customer service. Have ordered take out here several times. The first few I only ordered veggie rolls, and the most recent was both fish and veggie rolls. The veggie rolls all taste very fresh and are a very good size. Perfect amount of filling to rice ratio, especially for the price! The fish wasn't super fresh, but I would say is standard for a place like this. Not high end by any means but still okay. They gave us the wrong change when paying but when we came back they promptly fixed the mistake, very much appreciated! The ordering process was very easy, love the online ordering option. As soon as we heard indoor AYCE was open again we took a chance that Sake Sushi was as good as it used to be. We were regulars there. Their unique specialty is adding a thin layer of crispy crunchy panko breadcrumbs to some of their sushi rolls. We arrived with a good appetite because we had been on a fast for two days before. We ordered dinner because I like their sashimi. Husband is a vegetarian and there is enough on the menu to please him. His biggest favorite was the fresh wakame seaweed salad. My favorite salad was the fresh ripe mango salad... I could have ordered two of those, and another one for dessert. We also ordered other salads, and like the salad dressing too. The avocado salad was great too. The lady who brought our orders to us was very attentive and pleasant. It is good to go there for dinner in the week days, and there is a senior discount and a discount for cash. You can ask for extra pickled ginger and green horseradish. The salmon belly was delicious if you like fatty salmon. All of the sashimi was delicious. We are not big rice eaters and we went easy on ordering the sushi rolls. The coconut shrimp and the mango shrimp were delicious. The warm sake went down smooth. We were careful to not over eat, but it was hard because everything is so delicious and inviting. Sake Sushi is probably my favourite AYCE Sushi restaurant in Vaughan. It's been around for quite a while now and the quality of the food is consistently really good. The service is super fast and the IPad ordering just makes things so convenient. Plenty of options to choose from on the menu with my personal favourite being the "Rock Shrimp". The restaurant is consistently busy but turnover occurs very quickly so it's never a problem getting a table. We came here on January 1. The day before we called in twice to verify the buffet lunch price for January 1. Both times it was confirmed that the lunch price was 15.95 for that day. So off we went. When we arrived there were two staff preparing food on tables. We were not greeted by any staff and had to call them over to get seated. We asked to be seated at one of the larger booths as there was no other customers in the restaurant and we had a group of 5. The waitress bluntly replied "No" to us and pointed at another booth for us to sit at. I note that the whole time we were at the restaurant and when we left, the larger booths we asked to be seated at were empty and no other customers ever sat there. The food and presentation were fine. The restaurant was a bit cold and I had to keep my jacket on. When we got the bill, we were shocked to be charged 16.95 per person, they told us over the phone the day before that it was 15.95 per person for January 1. We brought this up with the waitress and she rudely replied that it was 16.95 per person. She ignored anything we said to her. Based on this experience, we will not be coming back. I went to Sake Sushi as per recommendation of co-workers. It is located in one of the numerous malls along Hwy 7. Parking is plentiful in front of the restaurant. The curb appeal is not great, but the decor improves once inside the restaurant. When I go to Japanese all-you-can-eat restaurants, I usually order all the sushi and sashimi first, followed by a separate order of hot food items, finally finishing with an order of dessert. I believe this works best to get the food in the "right" order, with the lighter (and more expensive fish) fare first, followed by the heavier items later. I went as part of a large group for lunch, so everybody's orders went in at the same time and we got a mix of hot and cold dishes in a chaotic order. Let me first say that I was pleasantly surprised with Sake Sushi's AYCE quality. The quality of the nigiri sushi, sashimi and rolls was generally good; the only exception was the "white tuna", the texture did not feel right. The hot food was a mixed bag, not as consistently good as the fish. For instance, the beef ribs were alright, but the shrimp tempura took a long time to arrive (close to the end of the meal) and was mostly limp; there was a dish (orange chicken, I guess, I don't know what it was) that nobody liked. Green tea ice cream was good, but the mango yogurt did not taste good. Service was fast, although I should mention that it was in the middle of the week, and we went there late, after the lunch peak time. Sake Sushi is an acceptable and passable option for AYCE in Woodbridge, but I wouldn't come out of the way to come here if you're going to (especially if you're from the east end). We came here for a late lunch on a weekday and it was fairly quiet. The first thing I noticed was that it was so unsuspecting from the outside, and the inside is fairly underwhelming, but gets the job done. It's in a random plaza and isn't facing the main street, so keep your eyes peeled! Overall quality is passable and they have a wide variety of items on their menu. You use an iPad and the ordering process is simple. Some standouts were there spicy rolls here! Especially the spicy salmon gunkan sushi, there was no breadcrumbs and the spicy mayo had a nice kick to it. I found that all the nigiri sushi was good here; the fish wasn't too small and the rice wasn't a huge clump. In addition, their hand rolls were loaded all the way to the bottom and wasn't packed with rice. The maki and special rolls here were average here but I wish there was a better selection. We did experience a slight reduction in the amount of items as the meal went on but that was fine because we were getting quite full as well. But overall they gave you what you ordered and the items came out really quickly! Overall service was quick and efficient, water was filled often, and the value was fair. Everything came super fast and they didn't miss anything like a lot of AYCE places tend to do. The staff were SUPER FRIENDLY!!! Like amazingly friendly. Were very consistent with filling up our water, we never had to ask and constantly came and asked how the food was. My favourite was definitely the spicy crab roll. The bill for 2 of us was very close to $30 meaning 15 each on top of tax- very reasonable! The sushi and spicy seafood roll were delicious. The fish was super fresh and the spicy seafood roll had a good kick to it. As for the desserts, WOW-WE! I loved the red bean paste puff as it came out nice, hot and flaky. They also had an interesting dessert called tempura ice cream, which was kind of cool. We were seated promptly upon entering, and noticed the ipad ordering services they have going on here for efficiency. Their cold dishes were different than some of the other places I've been to for all you can eat sushi. The food was pretty good and we didn't feel rushed. They did, however forget a few items but nothing re-ordering can't rectify since it was all you can eat. Even just letting our server know, he never made any fusses about it and brought it to our table as quickly as possible. It was a Friday lunch date, so this place was actually pretty packed, and we were still able to get seated at a nice corner booth pretty quickly.
