A small, newly opened restaurant in Vilanova and its first proper Indian restaurant, specialising in Hindu cuisine. It's something a novelty for the locals, but most of the dishes will be familiar to anyone coming from the UK. The interior is small it seats only 18, and booking is already essential on Fridays and Saturdays, although they also have seating outside for when it is warm.
The owners have worked in Ireland and in the UK (Bradford) and the menu reflects a sensibly limited range of choices. Starters include soups as well as filled poori and a range of different pakora, and mains include baltis, rogan josh, dahls and the inevitable chicken tikka masala. Vegetarians are especially well catered for.
Sides include chapatis, huge naans, and steamed pilau rice (and, oddly, egg fried rice). As well as Spanish wine and beers, there are several Indian beers to choose from, including the eponymous Cobra. Portions are very generous - especially the naans.
For a generous two-course meal for two, with wine and water, expect to pay around EUR35-EUR40. read more
