what could improve is your communication with your staff that works in an emergency room. They're very rude under staff and are not helpful at all.. my mom ended up at your hospital again after five months and I did not want her to be taken there because of her last experience., once again, the Nursing home disregarded my choice of hospitals and since Saint Francis is the closest it's only supposed to be for emergency. Well, it only took a couple hours for her to get to Saint Francis so that can't be an emergency when she is right across the street at signature nursing home. going forward calling the main number to get to her room ., One person told me that my mom was gonna be in room 556. This was April. third 2026. No wonder no one answered the phone because she was not in that room. Someone says she was in room 650 the day she was leaving. I said why didn't someone say what room she was in and letting me think she was in one room. But this is not my major concern. A couple of the nurses were very helpful but the first nurse I encounter was Miss Tiffany and and she could not find my POA or file from the nursing home and had to get the supervisor to find it. She has no idea where to look.., going for my bomb head come in for lethargic, dehydration, low potassium. Her troponin numbers were high. Several days they did get her into a room, which is where I first talked to Tiffany and then I talked to Brandon and Brandon was very nice. He did not give me all the attitude that I got from Miss Tiffany. But what concern me was they released her and the nurse that I talked to that day I think her name was Shayna. I'm not really sure, I never got the correct name because nobody wants to tell you their name. But that can all be looked up for the time she was there and she was on the either the fifth floor or the sixth floor her name is Eleanor Brunetti my mom. I asked them did they do a urinalysis and they said they did and they felt that she was OK and all her numbers look good. I even asked twice about the urinalysis. Did everything look good and not normal .,I was concerned about her going home to the Nursing signature healthcare. Did not want to come back to this place that drops the ball twice.. now my mom came back for a couple days and she was still confused not going to the bathroom regular, nobody said anything about an assessment or medication. Turns out my mom my mom had a lingering UTI that no one picked up on until April 9. So how many days has my mom had a UTI probably about seven or longer?., now she has to have seven shots to get this under control. she would not have had to go under this strong anabiotic if somebody would have done their job. I know all about the labs and how long it takes to get information back. So I don't want to hear any excuse of why she did not get the results a lot sooner and you let her go home.. I honestly never want her to come back to your hospital not even in an emergency situation. You have shown me twice how you operate and you can make all the excuses you want, but I have seen it twice in five months.., now, if you'd like to reach out to me, I will be glad to discuss this whole matter with you and find out what really happened., Sandy Stevens I am sure they are good people that work at your hospital and doctors but not one doctor ever called me back one doctor did talk to my brother, but I specifically asked for them to call me since I was the power of attorney and no one ever did in four days. I was admitted here 12/04/2025 with chronic asthma attacks. Stayed overnight and had to advocate for myself my entire stay. Had to use call button every time to get albuterol nebulizers administered to me. Was not hooked up to any monitors, IV, etc for care the entire time. Morning of 12/05/2025 I called for a nebulizer at 6:17 AM while having an asthma attack and did not receive treatment until 7:05AM. As someone with chronic asthma this is completely unacceptable. I made them discharge me and immediately went to Germantown Methodist to receive treatment. I will NEVER trust this establishment with caring for my life. A major thumbs down for the patient food trays served on the ward. Nasty smell. Nasty appearance. A hot style meal served cold. Not kidding...COLD! They still suck! Ended up there due to ambulance driver. I had a seizure & it was closest. Had to cancel ALL meals again as whatever they serve is nothing recognizable as food by site or taste. Gave them benefit of doubt & tasted it but my mouth automatically refused as inedible. Was in ICU where I was given excellent care by nursing staff. I did at least get my sheets changed 1x in 4 days. Housekeeping brought her nasty self in contaminating my personal items after I requested her to please leave it. She came in with gloves on & after touching the doorknob, curtains, & a chair proceeded to touch & contaminate food & beverages on my table. Nasty attitude because I don't want my stuff getting nasty. Dirty nasty person. Housekeeping never bothered to empty trash & only appeared 1x in 4 days. Nurses had emptied trash. It's really a shame you can't be alone there without feeling vulnerable & unsafe. I was never so relieved to be released! My animals eat & are better cared for than the mess housed on Park. The Department of Health and Other Federal agencies should thoroughly investigate this hospital based on the following: Discrimination based on origin and religion Medical misdiagnosis- Not properly checking for drug allergies or reaction to sedation, yet insisting on a medical closure based on minimal observation. Improper medical checks (treating patients based on the opinions of next kin or personal-work morale), limited patient care/opinions, and unsanitized rooms-poor bed dressing Failure to inform the patient before invading their body and misrepresenting patient communication Unfairly financially penalizing patients for doctor's and nurse's mishaps and excessive usage of medical machinery. Insisting on the patient being transferred due to morale. It is with deep sadness I am writing about this unfortunate situation. The nurses who handled pre op were caring snd professional. Shay was my post op nurse and made sure I was command had everything I needed to recover. The dietary assistant even made an extra trip to see if I wanted some tea as she had gotten me some the day before and wanted to see if I would like another cup. Stay away from Dr. Aneeta Khanna in internal medicine... especially if you have ehlers danlos syndrome. She could kill you. She treated me for sepsis from a complicated uti and put me on an antibiotic that the FDA warns NOT to give to ehlers danlos patients because it can cause strokes and heart failure. I'm covered in bruises from the blood thinning effect of the medicine and I actually am feeling worse now than when I went. I'm experiencing mental health issues and issues with tendonitis now...all are serious side effects of a medicine I shouldn't have been given. She has zero bedside manner and to top it off she FORGOT to discharge me for an entire day. She actually showed up in my room and said the words, "What are you still doing here? I meant to send you home yesterday." I loved my nurses in the ER and my DAYTIME nurse when admitted to the 9th floor. The night time nurse had no idea how to treat an EDS patient and had an attitude when I was crying out in pain because of an improperly inserted IV. I will never forget her walking out of the room swishing her hips and glaring at me when I asked that the IV be stopped. She never came back in the room after that. In three days, I had FIVE veins blown by IVs. I also had to SPELL and explain ehlers danlos syndrome REPEATEDLY for staff. If I hadn't been released the day that I was released I was planning to go AMA and go to another hospital. What followed was seven days of feeling like I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, bruising for no reason, being unable to move my arms because of pain from blown veins, and finally finding out that my antibiotics were doing all of it to me because I shouldn't have been on them. Had another medical professional actually say the words, "You got lucky," when informed what medicine I was on. The antibiotic is so hardcore it is used to treat ANTHRAX. I also still am fighting the UTI I was admitted for. To top everything off, the hospital is FILTHY. Look at the photos. Seeking legal advice after my experience and will NEVER return to St. Francis. Oh, and if, like me, you go there because you are a Catholic and want to be around the spiritual advice/comfort of a hospital priest...go elsewhere. No priest but they do have all the Catholic imagery and chapel. That's offensive! read more

The customer service representative is a very sweet and nice lady. The lighting is good, the rehab equipment is always cleaned before and between each usage. The staff is professional and very caring. They make sure treatment is the best. Social distancing is always mandatory. Stay away. They have the worst nurses that do not care about the patients. There's no customer service whatsoever. My husband had to stay overnight after a procedure and the nurses had the worst attitude like you were disturbing them. It started off with the hospital having the wrong appointment time for the procedure. The appointment nurse had an attitude. The nurses aid took his blood pressure and was supposed to give the nurse a message but the nurse claimed she never got it. However, the nurse showed up 4 hours later and acted unbothered saying she had other patients. He's on the cardiac floor and had to have his medication after his procedure. If it wasn't for us keeping up with his medication times he may not have gotten any. She didn't check on him all night. He had to call for assistance to the restroom and didn't even help. She came in removed a monitor so he can go and left right back out. Also, his leads to the EKG came off and no one came in to check on it. If I could give this place no stars I would!!!! I went here after work due to abdominal pains. I was barely walking and it actually hurts to walk, cough, sneeze, laugh or anything else that puts strain on the abdomen which includes bowel movement. I was here from 6:30 till 11:30 only to be told nothing was wrong with me. The only thing they did was draw blood and take an urine sample to run them in the lab. They came back stating that all of my results were negative and they found nothing to be wrong, gave me a prescription and sent me home. First of all, why would they write me a prescription not knowing the nature of my condition, for that matter, if NOTHING IS WRONG?!!! So, 3 days later after the pains had gotten worse, I decided to go to Baptist Memphis. The upside to all of this is, I did not fill the prescription and I'm glad I didn't!!! At Baptist I was diagnosed correctly and was told if I had taken the prescription given to me from St. Francis, it would have made matters a whole lot worse. The doctor that I was seen by was Dr.Dewight Cowley. MD. aka (Dr. Kevorkian). I feel like these people were trying to kill me. My husband is a patient at St. Francis on Park Avenue every since 12-28-2023, this got to be the worst hospital in Memphis. Everything that could happen has happened, of course very little staff, when my husband got into his room, he had to make his own bed, he was not given a welcome kit upon arrival, I took him the things he needed such as toothpaste, toothbrush, food, Vaseline, etc. After I complained today 12-31-2023 then everything start happening, bed got changed, garbage emptied, bathroom and shower sanitized, Welcome Kit. That is really sad that I had to complaint to get things going. My husband acting doctor came around to visit him yesterday 12-30-2023 and told him he had COVID and my husband replied i think you are mistaken, the doctor said he would go look again at blood work and get back to you he never came back until today 12-31-2023, we had to find out from the nurse he had the wrong room., that doctor should be fired or written up. The food at St. Francis is terrible not edible at all, I have been taking food to my husband, I mentioned to the nurse about the food and she replied you have to bring food to your husband or use tge vending machine, how sad, the hospital use to provide food. St. Francis has gone all the way down in their service to patients and that is not good, they always using the short of staff excuse, well in case you don't know that's when upper management steps in and help out. I feel like they need to reimburse me for bringing toiletries and food that is what they should be doing. Last St. Francis need to update their rooms they are very old, paint peeling on window seals, and baseboards are rotten, and rooms are too small. St. Francis shut down or get it together. I am on third day still waiting in er room to get room upstairs in hospital . I am in Seaver pain and Doctor Dinn promised to increase dose of pain meds 2 times and now he isn't here and they won't call him . I am still waiting to see a surgeon I have over 12 large hard cyst on legs for over a month and in last 4 days became acutely painful . I am a highly decorated disabled vet with lumbar spine fracture and curved spine and degenerative disc disease in lumbar spine . I also have chronic pain in neck at c3 c4 and c4c5 also degenerative disc disease of cervical spine and I am in constant pain, I called head nurse and no results on pain med disease increase but they did get me alprazolam I have taken fot over 10 years but they made me wait over 36 hours before I got 1dose and it is medically very dangerous to abruptly stop a benzo like this I had panic attacks and I have ptsd as I am disabled vet . I had a total hysterectomy last Wednesday at St. Francis hospital. I had to go prior to my surgery for pre op and the nurse was wonderful. I arrived for my surgery and the process was very easy. The pre-op nurse Tom was quite funny and made me feel at ease. I was wheeled by Charles to the holding area of which I was was greeted kindly and my needs met. The anesthesia doctor was very caring and very concerned about my post op complication at my last surgery. I wasn't even nauseated post surgery thanks to the anesthesia doctor. Jennifer was my intra-operative nurse and she was very nice. Of course, I really don't remember much after arriving to the surgery suite. My post operative nurse was very caring. She made sure my pain was well controlled. I was taken to the surgical floor and mostly slept the rest of the day. My day shift nurse was so very nice. They changed shifts and my night shift nurse was very caring and funny as well (I think her name started with a K). A lovely occupational therapist Tina helped me walk to the vending machine. When the vending machine wasn't working she went to another floor and bought me a snack. My day shift nurse was wonderful as well. She took excellent care of me. My son was circumcised here after birth and I regret it every day. My mother was in the room when they came and got him out I wish she would have waited till I came back, but his urine comes out side ways they clipped him uneven. If you are unsure about getting your son circumcised I would not do it. Don't do it, I regret it and I hate it I just hope this doesn't affect him when he grows older. read more

As I sit here in my beautiful room (not) with my left hip out of socket, I have been counting the minutes to see how long it takes for these ppl to bring pain medicine. Whoops-the minute you ask for pain meds-you are considered a drug seeker. So no can do!! At least the EMT'S were nice enuf to give me some on the ambulance. Saw a nurse for a split second-she didn't have time to give me her name. Then after a good hour and a half-the dr. came in with the Profenal ? to knock me out so he could put my hip back where it's supposed to be. Boom-after the z7th time-I'm ready to roll. Until next time-I will NOT be back/nor will all the ppl I know. This will be continued in the press. Shame on everyone-.terrible job all the way around. I was told by the "owner" to send a direct message to them-but where and how do I manage to do so? There is not a place to send them a direct message or I couldn't find a way to do that. My husband had foot surgery today. We did get there way earlier than necessary. We were told to arrive at 6:30am. It was about 9 when they took him back. There was a lot of sitting and waiting. The entire building was very uncomfortably cold. I had on jeans and was still very cold. The receptionist was very polite and friendly. She went over the paperwork with me in professional manner. The holding room and PACU staff were all very attentive and helpful. His IV start was quick and painless. The anesthesia team gave him something to relax him before they ever took him back. I really appreciated how they kept me updated on his progress. After the surgery, Dr Butler was simply AMAZING. He was an A+ in my book. I appreciated him taking ample time to discuss in detail my husband's surgery and answering my questions about post op issues. He was very realistic about his pain and limitations for the first week. He came by again to review things with my husband after he was good and awake. He had already given us prescriptions for meds and medical equipment he will need. I appreciate this so we don't have to stop and wait on our way home. The PACU nurse was very attentive and quick to give him pain meds. His pain was considerably worse than my husband was expecting. The nurse had oral and IV pain meds for him almost immediately when he rated his pain. I'm a RN and tend to be very critical of nurses and medical facilities because I have a high level of expectations. Both my husband and I were very pleased with all aspects of the care he received. There was ample close parking. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. There was a drink station with a keurig for fresh tea and coffee for the guests. I went off and left behind the bag with his other shoe. The staff called me soon after we left and had it waiting at the reception area when we returned. read more

I'm used to military care, so this is a deviation. WIth an advent of a serious food alergy/food poisoning, I was defaulted to stopping here. Now, treatment was good, if not great. Fast, efficient, they communicated quickly what was going on, options and what their plan was. Doctors were confident, nurses were supportive. My complaint? Mid-IV, when I'm still wondering why my face is swollen like the guy in "Hitch", and still feverish... the insurance guy comes in... and gives me the 30 questions on how I'm gonna pay. Really? I chose a very reputable hip surgeon who, unfortunately, only does surgery at Saint Francis Memphis on Park. Despite my professional knowledge and experience, I chose to go there anyway, because I wanted this particular surgeon to do my surgery. The outcome of my surgery was successful, and my surgeon did nothing wrong; however, I can only blame myself for my bad choice in choosing a surgeon who only works at SFH. During my stay at the hospital, I literally did not eat for four days. It wasn't because I wasn't hungry. It was because the food was not fit for human consumption. It might have been great hog slop, but it wasn't the kind of food people want to eat. Even the staff made fun of the food. By offering this type of food that it offers, it is very clear that this hospital holds no regard, respect, or compassion for its patients. Since my being able to use the bathroom, get in and out of bed and transfer from bed to chair, or from chair to bed I had to depend upon the staff for assistance. The floor I was on was understaffed with nurses and physical therapists, my getting the help I needed was hit or miss as to whether it would happen within a reasonable time fame. This was the fault of the hospital - not the fault of the staff. The nurses and therapists told me numerous times they were understaffed, and that was obvious. One nurse said she works in ICU, but was helping on that floor because they didn't have enough nurses to work. For three days after my surgery, I was not able to stay awake. My sister, who is a R.N., knew something was seriously wrong. She made a four hour round trip to review my record to see what they were doing to me. She found the problem and got it straightened out. How pathetic that it required a non-employee nurse to figure it out. Any competent nurse would not continue to give a sleep inducing medicine to a patient who was obviously being heavily drugged by that medication. Even I would have better sense to know that. At the least, the physician should have been apprised of the situation. I was not alert enough during that time to realize they were routinely giving me so much of the medicine. Once my sister figured this out, and once we talked to the nurse manager and physician, the medicine was changed to prn, rather than routine. After we figured it out and I got sobered up, I never had to take another pain medicine during the rest of my stay. This clearly indicates I didn't need all of that medicine in the first place. This hospital stay truly was not a pleasant experience. My providers there included a couple of very good nurses and one very good physical therapist. The other two therapists who worked with me yelled at me, were unkind to me, and showed no compassion, respect or dignity towards me. They tried to force me to get up and walk, even though I was so drugged on the medicine. To the contrary, and for the sake of liability, I should not have been walking at all because I was so heavily medicated. Various staff made comments to me about how they had overdosed me. On Monday, I was walking in the hallway with another therapist and encountered one of the therapists who behaved so badly toward me, and she said, "When I saw you, you were a real mess." Yet, she yelled at me because I couldn't wake up to get out of the bed to walk. I was supposed to have a social worker and/or case manager who was supposed to discuss my discharge and whether to go home with home therapy or go to rehab. I saw the case manager during my Monday morning walk in the hallway, and she assured me she'd come to my room in a while. That never happened. I made the choice to come home and have home therapy. I "know people" at the rehab I would have chosen and had earlier placed them on notice of my possible arrival date. This required the case worker's involvement, but she never talked to the rehab people or to me. As soon as I got home, the rehab admissions lady called to inquire about my status. I told her I was discharged that day, and the case manager didn't seem to want to be a case manager that day and met with me to discuss my discharge options. Since I was being discharged that day, I had to take control and make the choice to go home. With the case manager having not even talked to me or the rehab people, I didn't know if I rehab still had a bed for me, so I chose to go on home while I had someone to transport me. It was inexcusable for the case manager to shirk her duty in such a way. It was also inexcusable that it was at 10:30 a.m. when the physician said I could be discharged, yet it was 4:30 p.m. when I was given the discharge papers to sign. Even then, I had to insist on getting them so I could leave. My physician had no fault in any of my hospital experience. He is excellent surgeon, and he treated me well. After Spending a few hours in the emergency room, waiting to be treated for an allergic reaction to a flea bite (swollen face), I was finally given a steroid shot and Benadryl to counteract the effects. I would normally have just gone to the doctor or minor medical clinic, but, since this was around 1:00 am and the swelling was getting out of hand, I felt it necessary to pop into the emergency room. Anyway, what does St. Francis' charge for a steroid shot and Benadryl? $2400. My portion, thanks to crappy insurance? $1040. That's not the worst of it. Instead of trying to weasel my way out of their financial gouging, I take responsibility for the charge, chalk it up to "I will never do that again," and send along $100 a month to clear the debt within a reasonable amount of time. Fine. Right? No! After 4 months, and after having collected around 40% of the balance due, St. Francis Hospital, without a single phone call or warning, turns me over to collections. Really? Not an external collection agency, mind you, but one that works within the framework of St. Francis. This must be a joke, right? How do I know this? Because you can mail your payment to St. Francis Hospital (before being turned over to "collections") or Central Financial Control (after being turned over to collections) to the very same mailing address: P.O. Box 660873 Dallas Texas 75226-0873 So, St. Francis Hospital not only wants to get my money (which they were, each month, without fail) but they also want to take a swipe at my credit as well. What kind of institution thinks this type of behavior is acceptable? Not one that I will ever return to or recommend to anyone I know. Quite the contrary. Can I complain about the service or treatment? Well, the service was slow, especially considering there were no other patients that I was aware of, but I was out after a couple of hours. The treatment did bring down the swelling, but I could have received the same exact treatment from a minor medical or doctors office for less than 5% of the original charge made by St. Francis ($100 or so.) If you have a couple grand laying around to vastly overpay for simple healthcare, St. Francis Hospital might be just the place for you. If not, avoid this place. After my wife's first labor and delivery with a different provider was not up to par, we were eager to try something new. Don't let the age of St, Francis's facility affect your judgment. Their L&D nursing staff was absolutely top-notch. If I were to tell you all the wonderful things about them, I'd be here all day. Professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and well-meaning are just a few words I'd use to describe the services there. We would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

I had signs of a heart attack at home, with medical quipment. My pulse spiked to 158bpm. Bp was 141/111 and pulse dropped so hard (50bpm) that my heart stopped. Twice. Front desk were trying to get me back, not with the greatest attitudes but... Once the doc came in, he asks and accused me more than once of doing coke! I kept saying no I have Adderal scribed. Which was acutely out of my system and I take it in compliance, but says it's a panic disorders? I did not have fear, I knew vitals and knew I needed to be at the hospital. He treated me like a junkie and let me leave the hospital with a heart rate still over 100 and still fluttering. I tried letting him know two antibiotics may be interacting, no care. Inform of blood condition, nothing. He includes palpatations, had one minutes before I was dishcharged. I could barely talk or type last night. And tachycardia. Asked what to look for at home and he says stop using coke. Dude! You have my pee!!! And in almost a year, Adderal never gave me anything more than a 2% heartbeat raise. I need real answers! Even my bedhead got made fun of. But to be labeled as a junkie?!?! I'm dealing with a serious blood disorder and his incompetence is dangerous to my files as I try to NOT DIE from this blood disorder. He didn't care at all and barely asked about anything other than why are you doIng coke. Seriously, Adderal and coke and aren't even the same drug! read more
