Everything he touched on me he messed up to the point that I have had to have more than two surgeries to repair his screw ups. And it has been two years and I'm still dealing with it. I don't even know where to start. I wish we was able to give zero stars cause this is exactly what he deserves. Please I repeat do not come to him for any type of surgery. After my surgery, he sent me home with only pain medicine no antibiotics no anything no way to care for my wound under no circumstances told me to only wash it with soap and water come back in a month and my wound open up . You were able to look inside of my body and he didn't stitch me up properly either the way he cut me was so disgusting. he told me that it was normal for a wound to get infected so it can heal from the inside out NEGATIVE a wound should never open up on it own to heal. I had to research to figure out how to do proper wound care. I had to fend for myself. I couldn't sleep I could only sleep on one side. I went through pure hell. If it wasn't for my job giving me proper wound care my wound will probably still be infected or even worse . As of right now my wound is still healing after 2 month He does not care. He will let it get infected. He's not gonna give you anything he's not gonna do anything. He's very nonchalant. All he care about is getting paid. so if you don't want to heal a wound by yourself, I suggest you go to a real surgeon that knows what they doing. I agree with the other patient who unfortunately, had an experience similar to mine. And I do not believe hers is an atypical experience at all! I had a tummy tuck which was actually SUPPOSED to be a modified mini tummy tuck several years ago. I woke up heavily bandaged and in severe pain. It wasn't until a few days after that I realized my modified mini was actually a full tummy tuck! On top of that Dr. Shell took far too much skin so the edges of my hip to hip horrible scar separated and I remained with an open wound for about 9 months. I had MERSA and absolutely could not heal. My scar looks like someone, not a surgeon, cut me open with a serrated knife, it's horrifying. The edges of the wound on each hip were and remain "dog-eared". I am a nurse of many years and I have never seen such awful sewing of a huge wound. A resident could have done a better job. Now I have a hip to hip scar that is so horrifying, you can clearly tell the 4-5 inches that reopened for almost a year and the edges are dog-eared like wrapping paper! DO NOT go to this surgeon! I had an open wound for almost a year, I did wound care twice a day this entire time and I would never show my abdomen to anyone! I don't ever complain about doctors unless there is good reason and I would never think of filing a malpractice claim against a physician. However, I definitely should have filed one in this case, I am scarred forever and I paid Dr. Shell to do it! Shame on you Dr. Shell! Dan Shell did an OUTSTANDING job with my breast augmentation - I know I have read some bad reviews about his office and having to wait forever, but I have to say that I never once had to wait very long for him AND I was so much more healed than others I read were at various stages of surgery. I was incredibly nervous about the surgery, but it turned out to be such an easy experience thanks to him and I came out of the surgery looking just like I wanted to, and felt like he heard and understood everything I wanted. I was pretty picky and had done a lot of research, and know that I am truly happy with the work he has done. He is so, so knowledgeable and experienced and has reasons for the way he does things. He has answered all of my questions and his staff also have been friendly and given me all kinds of advice and support. 10/10 would go back to him again for anything else. read more

Dr. Shell performed what was supposed to be a very simple correction to my left shin. After the surgery, I feel Dr. Shell did not pay attention to the symptoms I was repeatedly telling him I was having. Instead he blamed the symptoms on anything other than his work. On the night of my surgery when he talked to me he should have had me in the emergency room. Had he done so, I would most probably have full use of the nerve in my left leg. He made me feel like he had it under control but really he didn't. Finally I reached out to another doctor to get help. By then the nerve in my leg was gone. There are too many other doctors out there that you can choose from. In my honest opinion, you should look elsewhere. If only I had known about the below site before I chose Dr. Shell. In the beginning she portrays to be so concerned and caring to convince you to let Dr. Shell do your surgery. It's all fake. This is a plot to get your money. Once Dr. Shell botches you then comes the long waits, lies, and rudeness. Do not bother asking any of them post surgery how it looks because they all lie and say "You look great". They no longer want to be bothered. On to the next victim. It's also important that you take your own before and after pictures because they changed the dates on my pictures trying to convince me that those were the last set of pictures I had. All lies, because I took my own pictures before and after surgery. I cannot stress enough that if a doctor cannot show you his work, go somewhere else. If it cost more, it will be worth it. THIS ENTIRE PRACTICE IS A JOKE! The front office staff are rude, unorganized, and demanding of payment BEFORE you even see the doctor. As a new patient, I waited 50 MINUTES to be called back into the office, in which the nurse or assistant (or whoever--I don't even know since she never introduced herself)--called me by my LAST NAME. Who does that? Not once did she greet me, call me by my FIRST name, welcome me to the office (since I was a new patient) or ANYTHING. She just hurriedly asked me questions that I had already answered on the new patient paperwork. Which speaking of, when Dr. Shell finally walked into the room, he didn't even look at my paperwork since he kept asking me questions I had already written out the answers too. Dr. Shell didn't even shake my hand as a new patient OR thoroughly assess what I paid over a hundred dollars for him to. I can't believe how horribly I was treated here--or how dirty and outdated the office was. Please people, do yourself a favor and DO NOT come to this wretched place! read more
