Whether it's the Rumi poem written on the blackboard or the laid back ambience of jazz music (by legends Frank, Ella & Billie),
I was immediately drawn to new cafe saint and co. Located at 3/219 Hawken Drive St Lucia, what this little cafe lacks in size, it
makes up for in charming personality, great coffee (by Campos Coffee), & value-for-money menu items (everything was under $10!!).
Excellent for nearby uni students on a budget. One of the things I truly enjoy whilst exploring this beautiful city of ours, on this gorgeous autumn day, is getting to know the people behind the small businesses that make up Brisbane's diverse hospitality landscape.
Saint and Co. is Sean Ozel's passion come to life. A project manager for a hospitality group specialising in opening cafes, Sean knew exactly what he wanted for Saint and Co. Sleek industrial chic; exposed copper pipes with bare bulb pendant lights, "london-tube" & "glasgow" tiles, & quality european sound system to fill the cafe with happy vibes.
The menu is very simple. Everything is made in-house except the Laurent Boulangerie supplied french pastries. In-house items are "Organic Street Burgers", which has a vegetarian option, Organic Doughnuts, Organic Focaccias, & "Curly fries". Hot & Cold drinks, bubble teas, as well as Turkish Coffee which is also available.
I decided on the Saint and Co
(1) Organic Street Burger (wagyu beef, sauce & pickles) - $4.50,
(2) Chocolate Doughnut - $4.50, as well as long black coffee.
Just a very simple but tasty snack to devour, both the burger and the doughnut. The sugar coated brioche based doughnut had nutella in the middle, so I was on a sugar high afterwards. Not content with what I had, & Sean being of Turkish descent, I asked if I could try some Turkish Coffee, which I didn't see on the menu. I'm so glad I asked because it was a beautiful Turkish coffee. Sugar high & Caffeine high. What a lovely afternoon
at Saint and Co.
Saint and Co is open 7 days from 7am-3:30pm, but longer depending on patronage. Once the fit-out is complete, they'll also open in the evenings. read more
