I say good, not excellent, as there are a few gaps - it could do with a book/DVD/CD store as the selection in the supermarkets is limited to current hits and new releases. There are toilets in Sainsburys, by the exit near Johnsons the dry cleaners and down near Asda. Of the three, I recommend avoiding the ones near Asda as they often smell unpleasant! The car parking is free, with plenty of spaces at the Sainsbury and the Asda end, but the car parks are regularly patrolled and there is a three hour time limit and a no-return policy. Mind you don't get caught out as they do enforce it! ATMs are spread through the centre - Sainsburys, Barclays and the Co-op have machines outside and inside Northern Rock, HSBC, Halifax and Lloyds have them so you're never far from one. At the time of writing the centre is decorated for Christmas and Santas's postbox is popular with the children!

The shops are fairly good there is the usual Greggs, boots, HSBC, Barclays and other well known retailers. The mall has not been able to keep up with the times though. Unfortuntaly it feels rather dated, South mall is newer though and more modern. However it's encouraging that the old Focus/B&M store has been knocked down and going to be a large shopping complex, M&S, Dunlem mill, PCworld/Currys coming soon. So in conclusion, fairly good mall nothing like metro centre or Eldon square but perfectly adqate.

The shop is well signposted from the road but unfortunately is a little difficult to get to due to having a narrow staircase to the main shop. The building in which the shop is housed is bedecked by brilliant decorations and displays highlighting what they can offer, though, and it is very impressive. I first went to the shop before a party and I was astonished by the sheer amount of materials and clothes and fun accessories available. Comparing it to two major retailers in Newcastle I'd have to say this has much more and much better quality stock! The shop is actually a bit crowded and a bit messy with lots of things piled up on top of each other and thrown into baskets and tubs. Kids will be absolutely amazed if you take them here though, as it is like an Aladdin's Cave! There are rope and curtain style changing areas if you have come for a full outfit. The staff will wait on you hand and foot until you find what you are looking for. Prices are very reasonable and there is always something cheap that will do the trick for a special night out!

Extremely unpleasant staff - my aunt and I took my mother shopping for her outfit here and were…read moremade to feel entirely unwelcome. The shop is tiny; there was nowhere for my aunt and I to stand and we felt (and were made to feel) entirely in the way. Staff barely spoke to us and were more concerned with grovelling endlessly to a woman who was buying something. We all agreed that the vast majority of their outfits were frumpy and aimed at the larger ladies. I was told off (!) for lifting a bag from an outfit to have a look at the dress (I'm 34, not 7) and my aunt was scolded for pointing out an outfit for my mother as "someone else is waiting to try that on". Altogether, an awful experience and we couldn't wait to leave.
