Towards the end, it was a party with them, it was such a great way to end my trip. The vibes were WONDERFUL. During the experience, we had freshly made ceviche and burgers. They were also accommodating with my dairy allergy and the drinks they made were fantastic! I appreciated the crew prioritizing safety while keeping the environment exciting and fun. I loved it! The snorkeling part is very average and the reef area they show has pretty much all died unfortunately. If you've never ever snorkeled before I guess it's okayish. There's also a fun water slide and diving board. The total tour is about 7 hours from start to finish. I originally found this activity on TripAdvisor and it had great reviews. Here's the weird part - on TA it says "a tour of the ruins is included". It never happened. I'm not sure if they advertised wrong on there or what but we were kinda bummed about missing that. Overall great activity and I will definitely be back next time we're in the area. TIP: there's an additional $14 USD "port fee" that has to be paid CASH ONLY when you check in. This is great for all ages and group sizes. They make you take everything off the boat when you leave to tour the island so bring a small bag or back pack. Dry change of clothes was nice to have too.

There are a few ruins around that you can get out and look at as well as they will tell you the history of the canals. Very interesting and informative. The thing my husband and I talk about and remember most of our Tulum trip is this experience. Good thing to know ahead of time however is the loooooong walk on the boardwalk back to the boat. Make sure you have a good pair of Keen sandals or something that are comfortable to walk about a half mile or so.

On Isla Mujeres, instead of staying in the north of the island (where we docked), John was excited to rent a golf cart and so we toured the less touristic, south part the island. It was a little on the pricey side, but overall it was an enjoyable time. We had to reschedule the first date we chose because it was windy and pouring down rain. The second date was perfect weather. We were picked up at the resort and driven quite far to a smaller marina in north Cancun. The boat was older and pretty basic. We did like the fact that it was a smaller group - maybe 20 total people. We stopped half way to Isla Mujeres and snorkeled for 15-20 minutes. We saw quite a few fish and a manta ray. When we got back on the boat, we were handed a paper bag with an apple and either a chicken burrito or a ham and cheese sandwich. No chips or anything. Drinks were included and while they were pretty tasty, there could not have been much alcohol in them. We decided to walk and shop on Isla Mujeres, checked out the beautiful beach with clear water, then sat at a restaurant on the beach to wait for the return trip. Three hours was too long for us on the island, but I guess if you rented a golf cart or taxi, it might have been fine. Overall, we felt it was priced a little high for the overall experience. But we did enjoy ourselves, nonetheless.

He opened our eyes to the beauties in nature, and the unfortunate reality of what human development has contributed to the destruction of nature and all it has to offer. We saw so many magical things... birds, sea turtles, dolphins, fish, rays, lush vegetation and a small sleepy fishing village called Punta Allen. My group had just missed the ferry (coming in from Cancun) and they still accommodated us & made sure we made our reservation when they had no obligation to. Not to mention they were extremely responsive & easy to communicate with during this whole fiasco. They brought us to absolutely stunning locations & I have never swam with as many schools of fish as I did during this tour. Jesús was even willing to help me get a closer shot of the underwater statues. They educated our group on best practices to preserve the reef (which I already am aware of, but appreciate for the less-informed) & stopped the boat when a plastic bag got caught in the wind so that they could fish it out to reduce on ocean plastic (I am very keen on leaving as little of an impact on the world we live in). We were served sandwiches / ceviche + totopos for lunch and water / margaritas were provided. Ended up being around $45 per person. Seems like the reviews are more favorable on TripAdvisor. It started off a bit disorganized at first, but we finally started boarding and ended up stopping by three different reef spots along La Isla Mujeres. The current were strong but we had two guides looking out for us and taking underwater pictures for us (still pending). Boat included bottled water, margaritas, and tequila. We made sure to tip well. Lunch was included in the price at Playa Tiburón, which took place after all the snorkeling (thank goodness). Coronado fish, veggie slaw, rice, and butter spaghetti, corn tortillas, spicy sauce and salt. Our guides helped with prepping and serving lunch. Overall, we had a fun time with Island Adventures Mexico!
