I therefore had to use my phone in Mexico (something I was not planning on doing) to contact the Tour Operator. I was told there was an issue with the reservation getting into their system and to hold on. After about 20 minutes they told me that it would be at least an hour before they could get anyone to me. That they would cancel this trip and issue me a refund and that I could find a Taxi. Obviously I would not use this company to return to the airport and booked with a different company. Now, had this company wanted to even attempt to make things right, they should have informed me to book a taxi, and they would pay for that taxi. The trip I booked via Viator was $118. The Taxi Cost me about $147 for one way and the return trip with a different company was $75. So, essentially this company could have offered to pay for the taxi (they would not have had to pay for the cost of their driver or their transportation). So, for maybe an out of pocket expense to them of under $100 they could have maybe had a little better review. But, I did request and get a refund. The company responded to me, "We apologize, there was indeed an error in the automated system entry; however, we have approved 100% of the refund. We regret the inconvenience and remain at your service. Best regards!" User beware if you are using this company.

Highly recommend bringing towels, bug spray, water proof phone case, snacks and if you choose the Cenotes bring a flash light if you arent a fan of the dark. My friends and I really enjoyed our experience. Everything was organized. We had plenty of time to ourselves to explore and overall we felt really safe. We booked on Trip Advisor to get the price of $170. I'd recommend going through maybe your resort or hotel to see if you can get an additional discount.

We were there in the afternoon so most people were already out at sea. There was barely any other people at the marina and it was so nice & quiet which is always what I prefer. I recommend book a tour here whenever you visit Cancun. Caribbean Sea is so beautiful and snorkeling gets you to tour the reefs and tropical fish even underground museum. My only suggestion is to make sure you make your final payment through PayPal or with cash the day of your excursion. There is no WiFi at the dock and I ended up having to pay via credit card which was an additional $50+ dollar fee, even though I was going using his iPad. Had I known in advance I would've just logged into my paypal account, but didn't realize until it was too late. He didn't communicate that part well. Keep in mind these are only here in season…read more (Starting around June 1st - September 15th) The downside to coming to Mexico to swim with the Whale Sharks is you have to wear those ridiculous life vests, but in Isla Mujeres it's almost a guaranteed sighting. Due to government regulations no free diving . The life vest makes it seem like more of a tourist trap than pelagic adventures in other countries. Still a great experience to be in the water with such magical creatures.

Once we returned, we stopped at Playa Norte (some the prettiest water I have ever seen in my life) and they made some fresh ceviche for everyone on board. He was extremely responsive and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. We rented a private catamaran and it was absolutely gorgeous. The boat was sparkling clean and spacious. There was more than enough room for our party of six to spread out and be comfortable. There is a seated area at the front of the boat with tables and chairs, and then the back of the boat has a large netted area where you can lounge. The four hours are mainly spent cruising around. We were able to jump out once and snorkel with one of the crew members as our guide. We also docked once near a beach area and got to swim out and enjoy the beach for a little while. The crew members on the boat were all friendly and attentive. Open bar is included in the package and they were constantly refilling our drinks when they got low. I just wish that they had drink trays or lids -- we mainly wanted to enjoy our drinks on the netted area, but you really couldn't lay out and have a drink at the same time. I was also a little bummed to learn that a 5% card fee was added to the final payment. I paid the first third of the payment online as a deposit, and the remaining 2/3 got paid in person that day. I understandably did not want to carry hundreds of dollars in cash, so that was a little frustrating. If you are traveling to Cancun with a group I think the private boat is worth the cost. For 6 of us it ended up coming out to around 150 PP, not much different than the 100 ish PP that you'd pay to go on a public catamaran. It was really nice to have the private experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to rent with this company again if I found myself in Cancun!
