I booked a 2 hour tour for my boyfriends birthday and had an absolutely amazing experience. Captain James (the owner) was SO incredibly easy to work with. I messaged 10 business owners on yelp at the same time during my initial search and James really stood out due to just being so helpful with every detail. We brought dinner and wine onto the boat and captain James even said I could come over early to decorate if I wanted to. I imagined eating dinner, playing nice music and sipping wine sailing along the Hudson but once we were out on the water, we forgot about everything and just enjoyed the beautiful views and a peacefulness that is hard to come by in NYC. There's a 4 hour option which sounded daunting for me (stuck on a boat for 4 hours??), but 2 turned out to be much too short because the time honestly flew by. What a nice break from the chaotic city. The boat can fit up to 6 so we will definitely be booking again with a larger group at some point soon. Btw, I'm a native New Yorker and Ive NEVER seen the Statue of Liberty so close. It was stunning. I couldn't stand to look away but lucky for us, captain James snapped a picture :-) Thanks for everything!

Wow! Recently did a 2 hour sail with Sail Sunset and it was definitely one of the coolest and most fun things I've done while living in NYC. The process of booking was super quick and easy. Captain James was very quick to respond and super friendly. Our captain for the sail was Captain Louis. He was awesome! We brought our own wine and a few snacks. It was a lovely evening. We all agreed we would do it again and we would probably do longer than 2 hours because we had so much fun! The whole experience was just amazing and I can't recommend it enough.

Our private three-hour sail (2:30-5:30) was perfectly relaxing -- just the three of us on a calm, overcast afternoon in New York Harbor, with a refreshing breeze and gentle waves beneath us. Captain Eric's beautiful sailboat took us up close to the Statue of Liberty and beneath the three "BMW" bridges -- Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg. The views were stunning, and the peaceful rhythm of the water made the whole experience feel like a world away from the city's bustle. What truly made the trip special was Captain Eric himself. His insight into the harbor's history and his passion for the Billion Oyster Project -- a local STEM initiative working to restore oyster reefs through education -- really inspired us. As visitors from North Carolina, we were moved to make a gift in honor of the impact Eric had on our day and his dedication to teaching others about protecting the local environment. If you're looking for an experience that's both affordable and unforgettable, book a sail with Narwhal Yacht Charters. We all agreed: this will be something we do every time we come back to New York City!

You don't always realize the beauty of the city standing so small in the midst of the concrete jungle, but being able to be out on the waters and looking at the expansive skyline was awe inspiring! Shout out to Captain Erin for showing us an AMAZING time and for being so hospitable. If you are able to request for a Captain, please ask for Captain Erin. She helped us get all the wonderful shots of the city and showed us gorgeous views in the time we had with her. She even helped us take some really cute photos - thank you for that! Thank you again for showing us the most magnificent views and for being our captain, Captain Erin!! So grateful for you and the experience! * Pro Tip: in order for us to not scuff the boat, we ordered silicon covers for our shoes - this helped a ton with maintaining cleanliness on our Captain's boat and also allowed us to keep our shoes on during the trip!

And made for an awesome album of photos, too. Life's too short not to do a reunion at sea. Thanks Sail Away!

Cheese board was delicious (wish I would've taken photos) and so were the cocktails. It was a gorgeous day out on the River and the Schooner moves at such a leisurely pace that you can take photos constantly. The air-conditioning was very much appreciated as it was a hot muggy day but beautiful breeze out on the water and the Captain did have a steady bit of dialogue as we passed by landmarks but honestly I was just chill with the music and the sites... the water wasn't very choppy so it was a nice boat ride. We parked on the Pier... and YES it was quite pricey $60.00 for the Mini-Van (oversized vehicle price) but we didn't want to walk far in the heat with the kids. I highly recommend this tour it wasn't congested on the boat and the service was friendly and accommodating. If I am back in NYC with others that wish a tour and easiest way to see Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and One World Trade Center by the water I'm telling you this the one to select. Also PLEASE don't forget to tip the staff! especially at the bar... I was shocked at how many people didn't tip the on this boat ride. Respectfully Reviewed.

We were a group of 19, 18 adults and 1 child. It was a beautiful fall day for this cruise. There is parking at the Chelsea Piers' parking lots right next to Pier 61, 60, and 59 at West 24th street. The access roads into Chelsea Piers parking can be accessed by taking a right on 11th Avenue and a quick left on W. 24th street. Just keep your eyes peeled for the bus or taxi turn-in into Chelsea Piers and hang a right. Upon entering the parking garages, we pressed the machine for a ticket. We first went to Pier 60 to look for parking but there were none, so we went to Pier 61 (went the wrong way for a little bit) and luckily someone was leaving. Up to 3 hours of parking is $25 and up to 4 hours is $38. The Classic Harbor Line ticket booth is located on the walkway next to the water on Pier 62. The confirmation email and a photo ID needs to be shown to obtain the tickets. When it was time to board, an announcement was made for specific tables for the 1:45 pm Afternoon Fall Foliage Lunch Cruise. Then, we were escorted to the boat by the Captain and to our tables by another staff member. Our tables were already pre-assigned. The Manhattan II is a classic boat, clean, and spacious. We occupied 3 tables at the back of the boat. The captain welcomed us and talked about the lunch menu. The tables already had the bread basket, seasonal salad (red and golden beets, raisins, roasted pipits, blueberries, feta, mixed greens, and frizee), and water. Our complimentary bloody mary, mimosa, beer, wine, or champagne order was taken first. I had the OJ mimosa. Additional beverages and mixed drinks are available for purchase from the bar. Then, our soup order. We had the option for a chicken dumpling soup or a Caribbean corn soup. I had the Caribbean corn soup. A platter of chicken and bacon sandwiches and pesto sandwiches were bought to our table. Lastly, there were apple cider donuts and cookies for dessert on a table for everyone. All the food were tasty and not bad for a boat cruise. The salad and pesto sandwich were probably my favorite. We travelled northbound on the Hudson River to admire the fall leaves, NYC buildings of NYC, bridges, and Jersey on the other side. The captain lightly narrated the tour, but it was a bit hard to hear him. It was nice to be on the outdoor deck to take pictures. All the staff were very nice and hospitable. I would be interested in other Classic Harbor Line cruises as well.

Took a one-hour harbor tour with my wife. I loved it! It's not what I thought it might be…read morepotentially, but once I experienced the natural limitations of imperfectly smooth water, I realized it could not be better. We had great weather (that's free!), friendly and safe guides, and a harbor that seemed uncrowded enough. We went on a Thursday, so the day ferries were busy moving commuters around, but we were the only personal watercraft on the water and we encountered a manageable number of NYFD boats, fishing boats, and luxury boats, I would only expect better if I were willing to (1) improve my own ride by becoming a jet ski expert, and (2) get on my own personal custom tour (which I did not pay for or set aside the time for). I also realized what folly it would be for a passenger to take video while moving at tour speed. You could do it, but the video would be bouncing all over the place and you might also lose your passenger after a rough wave. You would need that for full-time video, as the guides are paying more attention to safety and only taking pictures after they pause the tour. The one-tour gets you the meat of the harbor views - from up around 34th St of Manhattan and a view to the Empire State Building, to the Financial Center, Jersey City views, Lady Liberty, the Brooklyn Bride (and very close to the Williamsburg) and the South Street Seaport. It's great. Covering this ground and having any time for pictures requires speed. At one time, I think I was up to 45 knots in spurts, but generally just over 30. This will bang you around at times unless you're pretty skilled and have excellent throttle control. Mind you, I found my jet ski to have a very "tight" throttle as I describe it. It was like a small version of the brake on a ten-speed. I needed a strong tension to hold it, and changing position under high tension seemed to let it move too much. The jet ski would lurch. If they can get smoother throttles (can you get some like motorcycle throttles), that might make the riding less challenging. I paid for the pictures and got some. I wanted more pictures, but time is limited and these guys have to put awareness (safety) first and then progress on the tour second. I would suggest if you want a lot of photos, hire them for a private tour or a longer tour and you'll get more pictures. My wife is a real non-adventure/non-athletic person. She says she was literally praying to God before we even got there. Then she kept telling me to slow down. I can't blame her. I was surging and stopping, especially in the first 20-30 minutes as I got the hang of it. This experience can be a challenge for some who are fearful of everything. If they are like my wife, they eventually realize they won't die and it's actually safe as long as you are mindful of the surroundings. Of course, the guides do their part to hold you before traffic crosses, but sometimes you're widely spaced and you must use your own good judgment not to cut in front of the 30-foot luxury liner that for heading to open waters.
