The ambiance was cool, the music in the background, our hostess was fantastic! He showed us how to handle the hatchets. It was very challenging, but I made a bull's eye so I was extremely excited. The evening went well and time well spent! I can't wait to go back.

You get the instruction and the tips on how to throw the hatchet and then boom, you're off and running. (Not actually running, but you know what I mean.) The instructors are all great and really liven up the whole experience while also giving you tips along the way. This kind of activity really brings out the competition in people in the best way. Many of us had ever thrown hatchets before and those who had, aren't masters by any means. It was just a really enjoyable time to all try something new together. The drinks help too! Not with the throwing (I mean I don't think so) but with keeping the spirits high and having a good ol' time. The space itself is very big but with the cages for throwing, it can get a little tight with a lot of people. There is a bar there with some great beers on tap including the mystery beer which is always fun to try to guess. Food is limited to mostly pub grub but honestly, you're here to throw hatchets, not eat a ton. The pizza we had was good though so check that out. Overall, this is a really cool place to try out. And hey, if you like it, they even have weekly leagues here you can join and get better and continue the fun.

I made an appointment to meet with someone to tour the gym and check out prices. I was greeted by the owner who toured me around the club. He asked me what my fitness goals were and showed me a couple of things that could help me achieve them. From the street, you can see the open gym. Downstairs, there is the cardio equipment; treadmills, elliptical machines and bikes. Upstairs, is a treasure trove of personal training equipment. The power plates are one of my favorite pieces of equipment because it shakes up my mundane workout. I make sure to schedule at least 1 personal training appointment. There are other services available, such as towel service, yoga and even massage and chiropractor services. If you are looking for a fitness experience and you haven't talked to Bob about your options, you aren't doing your due diligence.

Now they have made some updates and improvements since then but they still have that same feel and nostalgia of how it was. For the most part, it is what you'd expect: food and drinks are priced pretty high, seats aren't super big, but it has decent parking nearby so that's a plus. Usually we go here for a few Sabres games, Bandits games, and a couple of concerts every year. We've been lucky enough to take a tour of the locker rooms and even skate on the ice for some special events. As much as people hope for a new arena like the new, incoming Bills stadium, I like this old arena and all it's quirks. Don't come here hungry and make sure you get there early for a good parking spot.

Everything now is expensive but $15 for a salad or $6.75 for a pop doesn't seem right. They also only take card and you check out on your own, but there are attendants to help and it seemed a lot of people needed them.

In terms of atmosphere, I usually go after work around 6 pm and on weekends. There is usually almost no one there. There are about 2-5 regulars that work out there every day and everyone is very friendly. I never have to wait for any machines or weights and can work out in relaxation. There isn't a huge variety of equipment, but you can work out all major muscle groups but they don't have the diversity of a large gym like the BAC. If you work or live downtown and want a convenient place to go within the hours that they run, then this is the place for you. You wont be bothered and can work out in peace. They have a nice pool, a nice sauna room and good facilities. UPDATE: Ive been a member of this club for over a year now. Its pretty solid, Ive never had an issue. There's still never anyone there, and they don't even staff the place in the evenings. It's like a private club, 80% of the time there are less than 3 other people at the gym (at least at the times I go). Its pretty great.

What he didn't tell me was that there's a line of small print amongst over a thousand word of small print that said it was a year contract. I found it suspicious that when I came in to cancel what I was told was a monthly membership he went right to the one sentence that contradicted terms that he disclosed. The speed with which he went to the line of small print made it seem like it wasn't the first time he's done this. I've noticed other bad review from former members, so I'm pretty sure he misled me on purpose, He also filled in amounts on contract that don't agree with what he now claims are the terms. I got one story when he sold me the membership and a different story and a different story later. Nowhere on the contract or verbally did he ever disclose $468.00 to be the contract price. If he had posted the amount that he claims is the rate I would've noticed what was going on and never signed the contract. He won't honor the yearly rate that he did disclose. He told me if i didn't give him hundreds of dollars in cancellation fees that would run the bill up with all kinds of additional charges and fees. Don't sign a contract with Olympia health. I've belong to gyms for 24 years and every other gym that I've belong to was able to provide me with accurate discloser of terms and rates both verbal and in writing. He disclosed rates and terms both verbally and in writing that different from what he claim are the terms.
