Party boat with mechanical issues
Mikenlaurie T.

Company super unprofessional. Book a Thursday night cruise with a band playing , canceled day of due to weather , didn't even end up raining ,but yet they state on the website we cruise rain or shine. Ok fine whatever. Rescheduled for Saturday night sunset cruise for between 830 -1000. We get there a bit early to walk around canalside and to get our tickets from the booth. I'm about to get out of our truck and its buffalo harbor cruises calling to tell me our cruise is canceled yet again due to mechanical issues, so we go over to the boat anyways to see what's going on. Everybody's having a good time, gentlemen who states he's the owner of the company says its a private party. Not a good way to run a company at all. Should be able to give zero stars

Going through the lock on the Erie Canal

Buffalo has so many boats! But, if you don't have a friend or relative with one, you may want to check out the Miss Buffalo Cuise Boats. The boat ride was absolutely delightful. We got to ride on the Niagara River, Lake Erie, and the Erie Canal. We got to go under a railroad bridge, while a train was going overhead (great fun), under the Peace Bridge, and watched a bridge swing out of the way so we could pass. We went through a lock on the Erie Canal, and was entertained by the stories and facts of Buffalo's past delivered by a guide who is/was a teacher. My mom enjoyed just being on the boat. My niece got a great variety of on-the-water experiences and the commentary helped reinforce some of the local history she'd learned in school. My brother, who has a great interest in the War of 1812, was excited so many facts of this important battle were included. I liked the local history. Buffalo has a proud past - it's nice to be reminded of that. The only thing that might have made it better for me was the choice of snacks and drinks available to buy. We went at 12:30, and while it wasn't advertised as a lunch cruise, we thought we'd be able to pick something up on the boat. The choice of pretzels, chips, cheetos, or a pudding looking cup, left me wondering if someone had just taken a bit more interest in the concessions, if there couldn't be less salty/sugary choices. But then, maybe that is what Buffalonians like, and they seemed to be largely represented on our tour,

I went on my second Miss Buffalo cruise this week. I was on one over a year ago for a bachelorette. That one was a sunset cruise which was more like a party boat. This time, I went on an afternoon history tour cruise. This past time was nice. My friend didn't really want to do a history cruise so we sat on the lower level in the back of the boat to just enjoy the ride. From those seats, you can't really hear it because of the engine. It was perfect two hour boat ride. Both cruises were great. I really enjoyed the boat ride!

Excellent ! Great Happy Hour Cruise , food was great , drinks a bit limited but ok. No straws lol Views were spectacular and all around great time Would recommend for sure

We did not leave till 6:15 when the cruise started at 6 boards at 5:00. Food mediocre.

We took a sunset cruise and the captain knew the exact time to watch the beautiful sunset and catch the fireworks from the Bisons game!

Spirit of Buffalo is docked at Canalside, right next to the warships. Tickets can be bought online…read moreor at the booth (buying in person saves the processing fee). They offer a history tour, tiki boat ride, and a sailboat ride--just note the each sailing requires at least eight people to sail. They will cancel the door if they do not have eight people so call the J before to see how many people are booked on your sailing. I did the sunset sail, and it was fantastic. Tickets were $42 ($54 with a cocktail). There's a full bar and light snacks on board, plus a restroom. The sail lasted about two hours. There were only 25 guests onboard. This made the boat feel spacious and relaxed. The views were stunning--sunset over the Buffalo skyline, sailing past the Peace Bridge, and city lights on the way back. The crew was friendly and fun, and the captain went out of his way to chat and even raise the Bills flag for photos. Pro tip: bring a jacket or blanket, it gets chilly! I think it would be a great idea if they sold inexpensive blankets with the ship name on them for $10-$15. People would've bought them because it was cold and They would also make a great souvenir.

It wasn't that crowded we each had our own space to chat or sit and reflect and enjoy the scenery. The price was good and for 2 hours worth it. Drinks were offered and served for purchase. You can pay a little more and get drinks included. There's a downstairs and bathroom on board as well. I would recommend bringing a jacket or blanket in the fall temps.

This is a CAN'T MISS experience! I guarantee the first question that your friends will ask you…read moreafter your Niagara Falls vacation will be - "did you ride the boat?" Boarding experience was efficient. They have attendants to usher you into one of several elevators. Then a short walk down to the platform while you wait for one of two boats so the wait is not long. Red ponchos given to you which are complimentary. PRO TIP: you'll get the best pictures if you're lucky enough to be able to get a spot on the upper deck near the railing. We were so lucky to be "cut off" from the line ahead of us for one boat and had to wait for the next boat, which turned out to be excellent for us. I wonder if you can request to wait if it looks like you're going to be the last ones on a boat. Surely the last in line will be towards the back of the boat or on the lower deck. But even if that's you, don't be worried - the boat sails in, and then turns around to go out. So even if you are in the back, there will be an opportunity for a picture. No announcements from the captain. No demonstration of putting on life jackets or at least told where they are located. Any boat tour I've done in the US would typically have something like this. Guess it's different in Canada. Everyone loaded, the boat just goes. And what a spectacular view. Take your family pictures as you are getting close, because after a certain point, you will feel the power of the falls. Eventually all you'll be able to see is mist. And it will feel like you're caught in a rain storm. The crowd all yells, laughs, and screams in excited unison! At some point, you could even say you're just trying to survive. You'll be lucky if the poncho hood stays on your head and that it covers both of your arms. Our hats were soaked and shoes were drenched, but we had so much fun! Definitely an experience that my kids will remember for their lifetime! Highly recommend!

Tasted like it had been boiled for hours then sprayed with grill marks. Simply awful. The one and only bite I took was already half way down my throat when I realized I wanted to get as far away from it as possible. That out of the way... Everything else was a charm! I boarded Niagara City Cruises with the confidence of someone who had never seen Niagara Falls and assumed the complimentary red poncho would keep me dry. Wrong. We got absolutely blasted by the falls! It was spectacular fun! The experience began innocently enough. The falls looked beautiful from a distance. People were smiling. Birds were flying. Families were taking photos. Then the boat moved closer and nature abruptly decided that everyone on board needed a shower. Literally thousands of gallons of water a second are crashing from the sky. The poncho performed admirably if its job was protecting approximately 60 percent of my body. My hair and face were soaked. My pant legs and shoes were drenched. My poncho kept bellowing in the wind. I looked around at one point and I saw that this was everyone's story. The closer we got to the falls, the less we could see. The magnificent view slowly transformed into a white wall of mist, wind and life choices. Conversations became impossible. Communication was reduced to pointing, yelling and laughing. The power is overwhelming. The noise is deafening. The mist is relentless. The memory is unforgettable. Yes, it was incredible and I wish to have this experience -- without the hot dog -- all over again!
