We got to the restaurant 1.5 hours before closing. They still had several customers left so it was still pretty busy. We ordered the banh xeo with pork, fried rice, and the lamb ribs. Everything was amazing but we could not get over how delicious the lamb ribs were! It's like umami perfection. The ribs were cooked perfectly and whatever sauce or seasoning they used was just fantastic. The staff were definitely busy running around but they didn't make us wait too long to order. If I weren't just travelling for a few days, I'd say I'd be back soon. I wish I could!

Mum herself helped me choose then visited us at our table at the end of the meal and had a chat, telling us her story and the history of the place. Pretty expensive bowls of Pho with the large special combination at a whopping $17. That gives the infamous Pho An in Bankstown a run for their money in terms of cost but sadly Me Oi comes out second best when it comes to the flavour of the Pho. I would say that it's a good alternative to the other Pho joints in the city - namely Pasteur or even Viet Town. This location should do pretty well - being just across the road from World Square for those not wanting to trek further into Haymarket. It also gives the World Square precinct a solid Vietnamese choice now. The bowls though expensive, do provide quite a substantial amount of meats and noodles but the broth isn't as memorable. All in all, a solid performer and a decent Pho alternative in the CBD.

First of all, was happy to try each of these dishes regardless of whether I actually ended up liking them. Also I felt that the price for everything was very reasonable. So on to my opinion: I wasn't a fan of the sour soup. It wasn't the sourness of the soup but rather the strong flavor of a spice in it. The pancake was good. I never sampled the tomato rice but it looked good. The top dishes were the tofu, chicken, and vegetarian soup. The tofu was simple but perfectly cooked with that great dipping sauce. The chicken also had simple flavors but I loved the crunch to it. The vegetarian soup was so delicious and refreshing. I could eat that every day.

The order was placed and within no time our hot steamy dishes arrived. My favourite was "Morning Glory" green beans cooked in garlic and spinach. Green tea was flowing and we must have had at least 6 pots of tea during the time we were eating. The waitress was very helpful yet not intrusive. The restaurant was extremely clean and well managed. The kitchen itself can be seen by the customers and the manner of the chefs was impressive. The price wasn't cheap but the quality was excellent.
