I went to Saigon Restaurant because I was dying for soupy noodles on a cold rainy day. Pho wasn't on the laminated lunch menu (with dishes ranging from 16 chf) but I saw it listed on the chalk board outside and they were willing to make it. The pho was flavorful with thicker than norm, but very tender, slices of beef and fresh chopped herbs. Afterward, I was surprised to see the bill for 23.50 and it turned out that the price listed outside (18chf) was only for take out (so read carefully!). Even though I really like Vietnamese food, I'm hesitant about returning to Saigon Restaurant because the service lacked warmth and welcome. There were not a lot of customers (two other couples) but staff seemed impatient during ordering and when explaining the bill..the kind of service more suited to a hole in the wall joint than a proper sit down restaurant. read more
