I've been going to Saigon Garden for a good while now. Their pho, summer rolls, and vermicelli bowls are SO good, and the service is great, too. When I found out they'd been serving dim sum during traditional times for it (Sundays from 11am-3pm), I just had to try it. I ordered the perfectly chewy shrimp rice roll (add the chili crisp to it and it's even tastier, giving it some heat) and the fluffy, steamed BBQ pork buns with a side salad just to get some veggies in, all of it utterly delicious. Had I come with a much bigger appetite, I would've definitely tried more (the nice couple sitting near me mentioned the pork belly was divine). Next time, I certainly will! Have not had a bad meal here yet. The Pho is phenomenal. They have started doing a daily special and on Tuesday it was beef stir fry, fried rice, pork kebab, beef kebab and a fried spring roll. It was delicious. The lady running the front of the restaurant is fabulous. She is always attentive to your needs. So if you haven't tried this place stop in and give them a try. Location is ok. There is a rundown fountain next to it which probably had water in it at one point but now is full of dirt. Inside is kind of small. They were busy but not full so there was no wait. Staff were nice. Food was mixed. It's more like a Vietnamese/ Chinese / Thai. Duck and chicken were cooked well and tasted great. We didn't like the fact that the meal only consisted of meat sitting on a plate, some plain rice and unflavored steamed box choy on the side. We didn't touch the book choy because it was just plain. The teriyaki meat (Chinese) came with a light drizzle of sauce on top. It was just enough to get by on. We felt like we were on a diet. Curry was traditionally (Vietnamese) a yellow curry. I was disappointed. I was told it had coconut milk in it but I didn't taste it at all. Also it didn't taste like it had any lemongrass in it. The flavor was not bad but it was tame for a curry. There was pad Thai was on the menu which is not traditionally Vietnamese. If they put that they might as well put a Thai curry option. Lo mein is not traditionally Vietnamese and they had that as well. It was fine, similar to any Chinese takeout place. For the price I expected more. Food choice is a mix up. We love going to this restaurant! Prices have really gone up but quality has gone down! Service was up to par but the food has noticeably declined! My fiancé and I had B2 which we always get from this place. It's grilled pork with spring rolls on top of vermicelli noodles and vegetables. This time grilled pork looked like it was premade and reheated in the kitchen. They used to grill the meat before serving this dish! Disappointed! This is the only decent Vietnamese place in town. The place wasn't busy when we arrived. We have 8 people but only brought out 4 cups of water. Ordered a medium and a large pho, but couldn't tell any difference. Had a great meal here. The Pho is super authentic, and delicious. I had the Pork and shrimp vermicelli because it was so hot outside, and we shared a small bowl of children's Pho. My only knock was the owner was insistent on not changing any menu items. She wouldn't give us any cilantro/sprouts for our children's pho because it's not included. She wouldn't budge on changing a children's menu item - lo mein. I get it if you are busy, but these are trivial things that we can tip extra for and not hurt your business. I loved this place! I took my friend here for her birthday lunch. It was her choice. I'd never been before. But I'm so glad we went! Everything was wonderful! The food was delicious! Prices are on par with everywhere else. There's tons of seating available; parking, too! Chopsticks are at the table but if you need silverware, they'll get it for you, no problem. Our server was the sweetest gal! Very helpful and knowledgeable. I wish I'd gotten her name. She was amazing. And, she was an ARMY (if you know, you know). Been here a hand full of times to know the ins and outs and I've even worked here before and after this small business was newly owned. As someone who has tried pho in many places, this pho is amazingly good even after the new owners and new cooks it still lives up to the name. The only difference now is that meat portions are lower and the prices have increased, doesn't really make much sense but hey I'll still pay :)! P1 and R2 are my go to meals whenever I stop by here, they are very delicious dishes and highly recommend! Obviously, it has changed a bit with the new owners and all but it is still good. This place had some of the best pho broth I've ever had!! It was very flavorful! It didn't even need an additional sauces. The spring rolls were just as good, I got pork. Everything was very tasty. Customer service was average because there was only 2 servers for the entire restaurant. It could've been better but due to being understaffed I gave it a pass. The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars is because it needs to be cleaned up. There was multiple spider webs and spiders in the corner right behind where they sat us. They literally went all the way up to the ceiling. I was questioning if they had health inspections the way this place was just dirty.. the windows also could use some cleaning. It was just a little scary to see what the dining part of the restaurant looked like, so I can only imagine the kitchen. read more

I have never been so pissed in my life at a Vietnamese restaurant.. and believe me I am Vietnamese from the Bay Area and I travel a lot; I've been to many Vietnamese restaurants. I don't think I've ever given a restaurant 1 star before or this upset until today. I ordered for pick up. They told me 10 minute but I ended up waiting over 30 min. Whatever I'll let them slide as they were busy. I ordered a bunch of stuff and one of them was crispy noodle combo. Not only did the sauce leak all over the bag, but I barely got any protein. It's nothing but veggie! They have the audacity to charge me almost $22 for this crap! I'm beyond livid right now. Everything on their menu is expensive by FL standards and doesn't even taste good. Egg rolls is gross, the skewers all taste like nasty dried up jerky. We ended up throwing away a lot of the food and left unsatisfied to say the least. I honestly rather spend $20 at Taco Bell than eat this crap. Literally feeling like throwing it in the trash right now as I write this. If I can give negative stars , I swear I would. Worse meal on my whole trip hands down. Anybody who runs out here to open a Vietnamese restaurant, definitely can't be that good, as they have to go to a place with little to no competition. I tried this place bc of the lack of authentic asian food in the general area and even in Lakeland. All I can say is that the menu listed items in Vietnamese but that's the extent of it. The dishes are noticeably Chinese style cooking and spices. They are not authentic Vietnamese cuisine food. If you crave Vietnamese food, you can opt for the Pho.
