    Ambiance and awesome woodcarving!

Never a bad dish when we have been here! Friendly staff, family run since 1995. Love the Peanut beef Pannay! Made fresh best I ever had. Quiet atmosphere, free parking on property downtown.

I grew up in St. Catharines and complained quite regularly about the dearth of good food that wasn't North American. Well, when I first tried Sahla Thai a bunch of years ago, I was blown away by it. Now, to give full disclosure, a friend of mine from high school does run it, but it makes no difference as far as the quality of the food goes. The restaurant began in a smaller location, but has had to move to a much larger one. Let's get on to what is important about the place: the food! It is outstanding! Yes, that's an exclamation point. Even in Toronto, I haven't found a better restaurant and I've tried many. When I'm back, I try to make it there. It helps my best friend only knows one person who really loves Thai, so I always have someone to go with. I have never been disappointed by anything I've eaten. I would highly recommend the curries, especially the pannaeng. It's all amazing. It seems I'm raving somewhat, but I went yesterday and was horrified to find it was not listed on Yelp! I had to remedy that. Now, I wouldn't travel to St. Catharines just for Thai food, but if you're there, you will not go wrong with Sahla Thai.

Food is great, and the appetizer chicken satay is an event + delicious! Missing the cucumber on the side, but the peanut sauce is amazing.

I found the food boring. I love Thai food. This was really dull and didn't taste like much.

Expensive for what you get. A lot of msg taste in the pad Thai. Decor kind of old late 90s feel. Wouldn't recommend to a friend

They also are always changing the menu and adding various specials frequently. Even those who don't like fish or those who have other dietary restrictions will find plenty to enjoy here. All the food is prepared with care and tastes great. Standouts for my group were the beef and mushroom bowl, sashimi, peanut curry and calamari. The creme brûlée was also really good for dessert. Service was slower compared to other locations but the staff was all very kind. It's a great way to try a lot of different types of Thai and Japanese dishes in a comforting location.

I was given a wonderful table at the window with a large view of the quaint city of Niagara on the Lake. The interior of the restaurant was modern and welcoming. For lunch I started with shrimp rolls with a delicious chili dipping sauce. For my main I got the basil shrimp and rice. My server asked if it was spicy enough and brought a house made spice sauce to heat it up even more. Everything was really exceptional and very fresh.

They asked what level of spice we wanted but in saying mild to medium we may have lost out on flavor. Table for 4. We started with soups, Tom Yum was salty and lacking lemongrass. Edible but you'd be hard pressed to guess that it was Tom Yum. The coconut Tom Kha soup was better. We shared an eggplant dish, noodles (pad see ew) and red vegetable curry along with rice. Everyone seemed to enjoy the eggplant but mixed reviews on the pad see ew and curry vegetable. Mostly it was just that the dishes were uninspiring and bland. The decor was somewhat drab, clean but lacking any charm. Prices were a touch on the high side but nothing shocking. We went here for a late lunch after a Shaw festival show and were starving and basically chose the first restaurant we came across. We definitely regretted our choice and should have kept going to find a place with better food and ambiance.
