Terrible experience with this doctor. I went to Dr Saharan about 12 years ago he diagnosed me with Rheumatoid Arthritis and tried me on several different medications. I ended up switching to Sutter so I moved to a Sutter rheumatologist then went in "remission" for a few years and didn't see any doctors. Summer last year I started to have bad symptoms again and it would take months to get into a Sutter rheumatologist so my doctor sent me back to Saharan. His office ordered very basic lab work and I went to see him he tells me I don't have RA and I only have fibromyalgia and he doesn't have time for me go back to my PCP. Well my doctor then sends me to a Sutter rheumatologist and months later I finally see them they did additional testing and X-rays and diagnosed me with Ankylosing spondylitis and RA. Thank god I didn't listen to him and got a second opinion. I believe Dr Saharan was just mad I had left his office years ago. Just do yourself a favor and find a better doctor who will actually listen to you and do additional testing to find what's going on. read more

My first visit with Dr Saharan was October 2025. My previous Dr. retired so I transferred to Dr. Saharan. Very nice man. My appointment was at 1p. October was a cold month. I arrived at 12:45. Had to wait outside in the cold till 1:15p before the staff let us in. Not good for arthritis pain. Red flag. I met the Dr. very nice and attentive. We just went over my information being I was a new patient. My opinion is you are as good as your office staff make you. They were polite enough. Made my next appointment for December 2, 2025. I was called by a staff person on December 1, 2025, cancelling my next day appointment and asked if I would change to a video appointment for that day instead. That was fine. Dr. will call me on December 2, 2025, for a video chat. Waited all day on December 2nd. No phone call. I called their office the next day December 3rd letting them know I didn't get that video call. So, I was given another appointment date for January 27, 2026. This was to be a regular walk in appointment. January 26th I was out to dinner with my sister. It was 4:30p my phone rings it's the Dr's office. The young lady on the phone says that they were cancelling my next day appointment because I needed to do my bloodwork. She attempted to imply that I failed to follow thru. telling me I needed to do bloodwork before every visit. Ok, hold up. I was never instructed to do bloodwork and you are calling me the day before my appointment to cancel me when you had dang near 2 month's from December 3rd to January 26th to call and tell me to get bloodwork done. Dr has to send and order for the bloodwork. Somebody dropped the ball and you wanted it to be me when Im not on the team. Well, when you see a train wreck coming you get out of the way. So needless to say, I had to move on. When your office staff ain't got it together I have to move on. Four appointments and YOU cancel me 3 times and try to make it my fault. The day i met DR Sahdev Saharan i could barely walk ,that was with help on both arms i couldnt dress myself ,i was in so much pain for over a year .i could barely sleep from the pain of movement .i had lost hope .i was bedridden ,i live by myself .im only 55 years old ,and a male .i was done with the pain and life i had no hope until i barely walked with two people into his office .The dr had seen me walk in the nurses said he was excited to see a challenge come in .the minute he walked in that door my life changed .he is a very confident man and he knows what you need ..i was able to sleep that night for first time in over a year.I NOW HAD HOPE !!!!! i was diagnosed with severe case of rheumatoid arthritis ...i can walk now ,get dressed by myself ,ride my motorcycle .he made all that happen in a very short time .that was a year ago .i am coming back strong . Dr. Saharan and his staff are nothing short of amazing. Over the years I have had to see many doctors for my lupus, but my symptoms weren't getting any better. So, a few months ago I decided to drive all the way from north Sacramento to see Dr. Saharan and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The girls at the front desk were extremely welcoming and made scheduling super easy. The wait time was only about 5 minutes. During my first consult Dr. Saharan went thoroughly over my lab results and explained to me exactly what was going on. He also clearly listed of all the treatment options that I had and explained any potential side effects. It was a very polite, honest, and holistic appointment. I have now been seeing Dr. Saharan for about six months and my condition has improved tremendously. Each time that I visit his office, his staff continues to give me a warm welcome and the doctor always makes sure to ask about how my family and kids are doing. Waited for over a month to get an appt. Went into the office and encountered his staff person who was rude, dismissive, and socially inept. My belief is that a doctor is only as good as the people he hires to work with him. This was one of the worst situations I've encountered. I have little faith in Doctors they lack compassion empathy this is key to be a good Doctor. Most rush you out n don't hear you. The doctor is great. I have no problems with his service or his expertise. 10/10. This doctor is great and would recommend him. As for everything else: I would give Zero stars. I called Friday for a refill on a parents pain medication since they would run out Saturday. They said they had sent the refill to the pharmacy. After waiting a few hours. Not sent!!! Not at the pharmacy!! And guess what? The office is now closed for the weekend. Now parent is having withdrawal symptoms!! Not good. Now it's Monday. I call 8 am when the office opens. Ask politely to send a refill order AGAIN. Wait a few hours. Still not received by the pharmacy!! I call again at 2 pm and they put me on hold.... wait few minutes on hold and get through to have them drop my call. Wtf!! How hard can it be to get a refill??? My parent is a long time patient and the office knows this medication has been given for a very long time. read more

Dr. Saharan, seems to be a nice doctor but not very caring about his patients and their prescription and pains. And his office staff is horrible, worst customer service, I have never called any doctor office as many times as I called them to basically beg them for my 76 year old moms pain management prescription (Amberal Injection). My mom had a good arthritis speciallist doctor that moved his office to San Francisco and my mom was transferred to this office. She has not gotten her prescription for past 6 months. My mom is in lots of pain without without that injection but no one I have followed up with them several times but they make up all kinds of excuses and not doing their job. I had to changed her arthritis specialist. Everytime I call them they put me on hold without waiting for my response to say, yes or no or ok to put me on hold. And they would hang up after a while. The receptionist keeps putting you in hold until you you get lucky to get through. I would give them a zero star if there was a option available. read more

I've gone to him for years. Same story as others. Get blood work come back in 3 months. 2-3 minute visit, get blood work.... same repetitious circle. I've stopped going to him completely, even though I need a rheumatologist in my life. I have Fibro, costochondritis and osteoporosis. I do have a great Neurologist and primary, so they do help. Do yourself a favor and don't even start going here, dr referral or not. Tell your primary you want someone else. It's just a waste of your time to start going here unless you like just to be led on and not actually having your needs and pain management actually taken care of. read more

Dr.Saraha is a wonderful doctor very caring he always listens I have Rheaumatoid arthritis and he knows Rheaumatoid arthritis very good I've learned a lot from him on pain control this is an awful disease. Dr. Saharan spends usually 2-3 minutes in the room with me after waiting in the waiting room for quite a while. I am a 22 year old and have had pain in all the joints in my body for almost a year now. I've been seeing Dr. Saharan during this whole process. I have to drive 80 minutes to see him and pay my $20 copay every single time. Every single time it is a waste of my gas, money, and physical energy that I have to use when I see him. Every time I see him he tells me that we're just going to do a blood work panel again and that he cannot help me with any kind of pain management. After pursuing and finding my own pain management doctor, I continue to come back to Dr. Saharan asking him to help me find a medication to rid whatever is wrong with my body because I don't want to be on pain medication anymore. Every time I see him, he proceeds to tell me that my blood work is fine and there's nothing he can do for me and I should go see a specialist. I'm like aren't you a specialist? Everyone there, including the doctor and all the staff are the most unsympathetic robots with no emotion. I hate coming here and will never come back. read more

I'm sorry. He seems like a nice guy and all but the medical care I got from him was not good. 5 minutes in the room each visit after a 2 hour drive is bull. I have Lupus and yes all my symptoms are related to the lupus. And yes the med my primary took me off of did affect my liver. He told me to go back on it as it was not the problem. He is not a Lupus Dr. He gets a paycheck each and every time he saw me. I am now seeing a GREAT rheumatologist and getting the care, tests, meds, and attention I need. Please if your insurance refers you to him refuse and get them to find another. read more

I would give him no stars if I could. His staff is nice and the office is nice enough. Like everyone else stated the doctor tried to put me on a every 3 months visit with blood-work in-between cycle. As soon as my diagnosis came back as fibromyalgia the doctor's demeanor changed. He all of a sudden couldn't (or I should say wouldn't) help me anymore. I was told he "doesn't specialize in Fibromyalgia" He also left notes in my chart saying that I was "uncomfortable" and had described my pain as "achy" He never asked about my pain levels only ever asked where my pain was. I had told him about how much pain I was in and he was not only dismissive but lied in my chart. When I called him on it I was told that he would not change it because my" blood work had come back normal" I told him my pain level would not show up on blood-work and was told that he can't put my pain level down because he isn't a pain management doctor and I was free to seek a second opinion! (then why did he comment on it in the first place?!) He was also reluctant to prescribe me anything other than prednisone and Meloxicam. Every time I brought up a concern he kept saying that I needed to talk to my primary about it. He never answers the phone or returns messages in a timely manor. I have to say it is very upsetting to be in so much pain and then have your SPECIALIST say that you are merely uncomfortable. I wish I was just uncomfortable. I only went to him because he was the only one with an opening or I would have had to wait over 6 months to see anyone. read more

Great staff from the time I've started my visits and it's been almost 2 years. Came from my primary doctor couldn't find out what was wrong with me took about 2 visits.
