After suffering a shoulder injury, I was referred to Alpine by my treating doctor. Before Alpine will book an appointment, all medical records need to be submitted to the surgeon for review. Once reviewed and the doctor accepts to see the patient, the front office will book an appointment. This process took about two weeks before the doctor agreed to see me. The front lobby is pretty large with plenty of seating and accessible bathrooms. There is also a small table and chairs for children in the corner. There are five windows in reception, so wait time to check-in is pretty quick. The receptionist I've dealt with was pleasant. The reason for taking one star away: This place is extremely busy. Plan ahead and ensure your schedule is clear a few hours around your appointment time. After being checked-in for my appointments, I wasn't taken back to a room for about 20 minutes after my scheduled time. Once in the patient room, it took about 1 1/2 hours on my first appointment and about 30 minutes on the other two appointments to be seen by the surgeon. There are signs posted informing patients of these delays. I 100% agree that every patient is different and times can vary. However, this was probably the most annoying thing about my experience at Alpine. Having said that, my doctor took time to explain the procedure and my options. After speaking with him and researching him, I was confident in his ability to repair my shoulder. Once I elected to proceed with surgery, I was able to schedule surgery pretty quickly. On the day of the surgery, my surgeon checked in with me to ensure I didn't have any last minute questions. He told us the estimated time surgery would take and told my wife he would call her when my procedure was done. Once I was done in surgery, he called my wife as promised. I did not suffer any complications after surgery. Everything healed well, looks good and I am expected to make a full recovery. Based on my experience, I would use Alpine again. read more

Dr Friedman did two hip surgeries on me in 2024. I was always happy about his treatment, albeit the first surgery had failed and required a second much more painful surgery 5 months later. Dr Friedman has an outstanding bedside manner and always treated me with respect and kindness. Recently I had a fall causing several fractures in my pelvis and extreme pain in my surgical hip. Naturally I called Alpine expecting to get a quick appointment with him. I was told by a rude woman that because i had cancelled so many appointments and had so many NO SHOWS i would not be given future appointments if i cancelled any further appointments. Working in the medical field for decades I respected Dr's time and schedules an would never just not show up. Yes i had cancelled some appointments over that year but always cancelled in plenty of time to not affect his schedule. But never once had I not shown up for a scheduled appt it's just not something i have ever done. She essentially said I was lying about it and would not tell me the number of No Shows on her books or cancellations. Even with an acute injury that needed urgent medical intervention and being an established patient at ALPINE, she said she could not get me an appointment for approx 7 weeks. So i took the Aug 7th aooiintment slot. As the pain worsened i realized i could not wait that long for a consult,so I found another orthopedic doc outside of Alpine who got me in within 48 hours even tho i was a new patient to them. And it was a good thing i made that decision because waiting almost 2 months for an acute injury to be evaulated would have caused me permanent damage. Today when i called to cancel the Aug 7th appointment I was told by a much nicer staffer if i cancelled the appt I would never be allowed at alpine again. Even when i said i am giving you almost 6 weeks notice it didn't matter. I am no longer welcomed there anymore. Have always been treated well by the staff there. But i am happy to have found an office that is willing to treat acute injuries in a timely manner. I would never recommend anyone to ALPINE with a support staff that has these policies in place where they won't give you timely appointments for acute injuries or accuses patients of things that were not true and rerfused to give me info I requested to prove me correct. That first staffer treated me like a convicted felon who was asking for something I wasnt allowed to have or know. read more

This is the worst place to attempt to get anything accomplished. All there good doctors are leaving the practice and for good reason. Whoever is running the office needs to be fired immediately. I have been a patient of theirs since Nov. 17, 2023. They have done absolutely everything they can to insure that i wont have surgery until 2025 so i have pay another year of max out of pocket (which for me is $4300). They have staff that wont answer phone calls or return voicemails. I had an appointment with their doctor on Nov 25, 2024 and explained to Dr. Phan that it is crucial to have surgery by the end of the year, he claimed he understood. Then to find out two weeks later that he's going on vacation for the last two weeks of the year. Thanks for the heads up doctor, I can tell how much you truly care about your patients. If you're reading this, you have been warned. DO NOT USE ALPINE ORTHOPEDIC FOR ANY OF YOUR MEDICAL NEEDS. Hands down the worst experience I've had in a doctor's office. My son broke his arm so we were referred there for a cast from the emergency hospital. After being taken to a room they removed my son's splint in preparation for the cast. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Not once did someone come to tell us our waiting status. After an hour and a half, they came in to tell us they needed X-rays. This is despite insisting I bring a copy of the X-rays from the Emergency room. No acknowledgment of our long wait. No apology. After the X-ray, our waiting continued. After another 30 minutes, my son's cast was finally put on him. Which only took 15 minutes. We got there at 3pm, we left the building at 6pm. We saw Dr. Winters last week after my son twisted his knee playing soccer. He was so patient, funny, and really took the time out of his busy schedule to thoroughly check his knee and ask him some questions. I came back to Alpine Orthopaedic after having been there about 30 years ago. I was in a car accident in October 2019 and the other Dr at a different place I had seen didn't do half of what Dr. Allegre here at Alpine did, in the 1st visit. Dr. Allegre read the CT scan and saw where the problem was right away. I was in a lot of pain in my neck, and there were 3 discs messed up that I needed surgery on! So we were able to get that started. Everyone at Alpine Orthopaedic Group is nice. From the front to the back. Dr. Allegre made me feel comfortable, and they get very busy! But I felt like I was listened to by him, every time. When I had surgery he made me feel comfortable also. I highly recommend them! read more

Doctor Jaicharan Iyengar seems so out of touch with real life. He is extremely rude to patients and makes every question asked seem like you asked the dumbest question ever. We are just curious! How could a person have so many accomplishments and still not know how to properly speak to a person. Something went straight to his head and ego, maybe it's the money or power. If he's so busy and doesn't have time for check-ins and concerns, then DON'T SCHEDULE THEM. Relieve the weight of his heavy schedule by taking things off. Other staff were very nice and very supportive. They directly answered questions without any snide comments, unlike Dr. Jaicharan Iyengar. We want someone to actually take us and our concerns seriously. I feel bad for every person who comes across this man's path. Patients have real life jobs and responsibilities just the same as you Jaicharan Iyengar. You are not any better than ANY person working in that office nor any people coming in and out for CARE. You are supposed to care, we trust you to do surgery on us. I would not trust you to do a surgery on anyone I know and I would NEVER recommend you. Your demeanor and attitude tell me all I need to know about how much you care about fixing my bones and the healing process. My husband has been a patient here with several of the doctors. He suffers from osteoarthritis which has attacked his neck and back. He is in regular pain and occasionally does something silly that causes the pain to go off the charts. I am relieved to know when that happens I can call Alpine and they will do what they can to get him in. I see the reviews where people complain about the wait time. I look at it differently and think that someone ahead of us is having it more difficult than we are and if I was them, I would want the doctor to take the necessary time with us. read more

Dr. Lin did my surgery which went great! But getting an appointment and actually being seen on time is challenging I've had to wait for over an hour. Rescheduling is almost impossible within that same week it could take up to 3/4weeks. Charges to have them fill out your FMLA forms or Edd $30 per incident basically even if they extend it you pay again to be able to submit for benefits and or extend FMLA upsetting,, i mean your not working and have to pay $60 crazy!your $5000 or more of charges for surgery doesn't cover that read more

Let me state that this appointment took a couple of months to get and is a follow up to a test procedure. My original appointment took six months to get. The procedure was a a dye assisted nerve blocking test which I had an allergic reaction to and no one answered the post op number that was listed on my post op form. In fact, no one every answered that number and I was not able to get through about my condition that day and ended up having to call the front desk the next day. Today I checked in ten minutes earlier for a 2:10pm appointment at the kiosk which was very convenient except I had to wait another twenty minutes to be called up to the front desk and pay my co-pay which was idiotic especially since I paid an outstanding balance at the kiosk. Why bother with the kiosk and why is there a co-pay for a follow up appointment? The doctor was running late and the desk assistant did not know if my FOLLOW up appointment needed a co-pay or not when I questioned the co-pay. She also said the doctor was not late when I pointed out the time which was twenty minutes later than my appointment and she responded that the doctor was seeing patients. Hmmm, what else should he be doing since I have already heard one patient called back for him since I checked in earlier . I understand that doctors get busy and other patients can cause him to run late however it is now forty minutes past my appointment time with Dr. Pham and I'm still waiting. read more

The doctor that treated my child was wonderful. The staff that answers the phones are disappointing. I work in a medical office as well and would not treat patients in this manner , if I were the supervisor I would blame covid as they do and lay the staff off, hire new staff that is willing to work. I have to go to the office to get the answers I need. I was on hold for 1.37 hour and my call was never addressed the call was during the hours they suggested. Dr Kamaguchi accepted my boyfriend as a cash patient after we got the run around from other places, over his broken leg. He was informative and basically told my boyfriend to take care of himself in the walking boot or he will put him in actual cast. Didn't charge him for some things to save him $. Very very cool of the dr. I would have given this place 5 stars, but originally when we first went there the blonde lady behind the desk instantly denied us without any further questions being asked. I have known about Alpine Orthopedic for a while, I have had friends and relatives who have been treated here. I ended up here for a shoulder injury in which my shoulder would pop out of socket if I moved the wrong way. I was dreading any treatment or surgery. The office is nice and large, they have multiple windows so the wait to get your paperwork done wasn't horrible and every single time I had an appointment I waited less than ten minutes to be called in. I ended up here for many visits to figure out what to do about my shoulder and then after my surgery for checkups and post-op visits. The doctor I saw was also the doctor who did my surgery. That was 9 months ago and my shoulder has never been better. I was very impressed with the small things here at the office. When I had to fill out disability forms they had a person who's sole responsibility was to do that. Insurance forms? Someone to do that too. Any little issue seemed to be taken care of. The whole office was very efficient and the staff was very very friendly. I wish all doctors offices operated this way, they made my whole experience something that ended up being very positive. Let me start with the positives first. Dr Alex Phan is 5 star doctor. I had one medial branch block done with him and I was so nervous. He has a great bedside manner and put me at ease right away. But the office staff has refused to schedule me for my second. Erika and Sharlynn have been awful to get a hold of. When I do they tell me they will call me back in five minutes after they have to speak to someone else and then they don't call me back. Even though my health insurance has authorized treatment for this they continue to try to send this off to work comp and break hipa laws since I am being treated for a separate illness. I tore my ACL last October, and a friend recommended Alpine Ortopaedic to me, and I can't imagine going anywhere else in Stockton. I'm from Hawaii, and I grew up knowing my doctors, so it felt like I was gambling a bit here, but it paid off. They understand your discomfort and really put you at ease. The staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly, and Dr. Murata takes the time to explain everything to you without making you feel stupid or rushed. If I get injured again in California, I'm definitely coming back to Alpine Orthopaedic. read more
