Nurse Arnold had a great sense of humor and genuinely tried to soften the blow of a long wait. Dr. Lavelle and the rest of the medical team kept me informed as test results came in, which I appreciated. That said, the quality of care after the decision to admit was extremely disappointing. Being left on a hard, outdated gurney for over 10 hours while waiting for a bed is unacceptable. I have worked in hospitals across the Southeast, the Midwest, and now California, and this was by far the worst experience I've had in this regard. What made it worse was the lack of communication. Hospitals use admissions boards and can provide at least an estimated wait time, yet no one offered updates or acknowledged the delay. Being left in the dark for hours isn't just frustrating--it feels dismissive and rude. Now let's talk about Area 3N (CDU). First, kudos to the staff who work there under these conditions. Dani and the noc shift, as well as Tigen and the day shift, were outstanding--professional, compassionate, and genuinely comforting to patients. They deserve recognition for doing the best they can in a very challenging environment. The EGD Team was also excellent. The music in the procedure room was a thoughtful touch--before the first beat of classic rock finished, I was already out. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of this unit is appalling. I checked in at 7:00 p.m., and the first time I saw housekeeping was 2:30 p.m. the following day. Patients are placed in a large shared space, with more than 10 people sharing a single bathroom that was not kept clean overnight. However, serious HIPAA violations occurred in Area 3N. Patients are housed in a large, open shared space with thin partitions. Throughout the night and following day, I could clearly hear full patient names, diagnoses, test results, treatment plans, and physician-patient conversations from surrounding cubicles. Doctors conducted bedside discussions containing protected health information in full earshot of other patients and visitors. I'm tired of hearing "short staffing" used as an explanation. Patients deserve dignity, communication, privacy, basic cleanliness, and a safe environment. The frontline staff are doing their best, but the system fails patients once admission is decided. This is not the level of care the public should be expected to accept.

The reason for my visit to CMC was to seek help for the first time via therapy. The person I was assigned to Timothy started this off by canceling our in person visit hours before its scheduled time. I decided to do a phone consultation to get the process started but it was already an extremely poor start. While on the phone there was non stop background noise TV, child, responding to unknown things on his end. When I asked he said "I'm at home there will be noises" totally dismissive and un professional. I wanted to commit to this new process so I took an in person meeting with him. First impression was that he was tired and unkept and preoccupied mentally. Second visit I walk in and he has his head down hunched over his phone and took about 20-30seconds to acknowledge I was even in the room. Same tired and unkept unprofessional demeanor. And he also added to me "it's one of those days". While I understand everyone has one when you are in the role Of helping people with their issues putting yours onto them seems an extremely off putting and un professional. Hours before what would have been our next session. I show up early to find out the session had once again been canceled by Timothy. They did reach out via phone call. I had missed it how ever another same day cancellation was it for me. The person at the front desk helped set me up with a new counselor. That I look forward to working with. I don't have any experience with therapy so I won't comment on Timothy approach this in regards to his disrespectful level of unprofessional behavior.

He is a veteran but had heard that this location does a great job working with the VA and those requiring coordination of care with the VA. The recommendation that we were given was right on the money, and we had a fantastic experience. Not only were the office staff, adjunct medical staff and physicians fantastic but they were accommodating but listened well and make sure his individual needs were met both medically as well as via insurance. continuity of care was maintained, and both his prescriptions and aftercare instructions were sent to the VA as is necessary and he was able to get what he needed the same day. We are extremely grateful for their kindness and highly recommend that anyone needing urgent care services, especially those through the VA who may have a limited options utilize this resource as is necessary. Thank you so much, Sutter Urgent care

Ultimately, I was refused care and left without any medical assistance. They advised me to contact Sutter's patient advocate, but when I called, no one was available to help. The front desk staff were unhelpful, unfriendly, and showed little concern for my situation. There was certainly no "service with a smile" -- only denial of healthcare. What was most frustrating was that they would not offer any guidance or alternatives for receiving care. Instead, while I was standing in urgent care with active insurance coverage, they joked about calling me an ambulance rather than helping me access medical services. At the end of the day, I was denied care, denied support, and treated without professionalism or compassion.
