I have had unwanted hair and acne since I was a young girl. I have tried MULTIPLE aestheticians in the past and none of them have compared to Sahar. I probably started going to Sahar more than 7 years ago because I was referred by a friend that said she uses sugar wax. With the multiple other aestheticians, the wax they used burned me, made me break out, and left me scarred and discolored. Sahar's sugar wax is gentle and never caused the same kind of irritation that other waxes have caused my skin. I had tried laser in the past with a different aesthetician who promised me it would work and it did absolutely nothing for me so I finally decided to begin electrolysis with Sahar and am so glad I did. I have pesky and irritating hairs in my groin area. As a man, I had a difficult time finding an electrologist who would work on that area. Sahar is so genuine, compassionate and knowledgeable that I was quickly at ease with her working on this area for me. I went in to have those hairs removed and she located bumps on my face that my dermatologist said was a result of rosacea. He had quoted me $500 per V-Beam laser treatment and I needed approximately 4 treatments to handle them. Sahar took care of them within 30 minutes and I'm absolutely amazed with the results! The bumps were gone immediately and I've canceled the $2000 set of V-Beam laser treatments. I am not usually one to write reviews but I happened to come across Sahar on Yelp and then read some reviews and I was so appalled by what Sarah A. below had to say that I couldn't help but need to respond. I have been going to Sahar for electrolysis for 2 years now and Love, Love, Love her! She has helped my acne disappear and has also helped me get rid of unwanted hair. First of all, I don't believe much of what she is saying and I think all the other 5 Star Reviews speak for themselves. 2. Sahar NEVER takes other customers before the ones who have appointments. If your on time then you get your whole treatment, if your late then you sacrifice what you missed and that's it. I am always on time or 5 minutes early and there is NEVER anyone else waiting with me in the waiting area and as soon as she's done with the person before me, we immediately start on my session. AND she doesn't look at the clock and time it exactly as the appointment was set, she uses a timer so she can make sure you get your full 15 or 30 minutes-whichever you request. 3. On my first visit, Sahar made a point to explain everything to me. She did it as she worked but she did explain everything and I understood all of the instructions. 4. Yes, electrolysis is painful. If you didn't know this before coming to your first appointment, then you didn't take the steps necessary to inform yourself before you arrived. It's the nature of the beast and some spots are more painful than others, but it's no more painful that other things I've experienced and it's well worth it if you really care about your skin and hair as much as I do. Just take some deep breaths and talk while she works, it helps distract the mind. 5. If you ended up with scarring, it's because you didn't take proper care of your skin afterwards. You should be cleansing your skin at least twice daily with toner of some sort or whatever you bought from Sahar (I use Tea Tree Oil) AND then also moisturizing afterwards with a very good moisturizer AND if you are in the sun you should be applying sunscreen. Exposure to sun while the skin is healing can cause scarring. Most people know this. 6. Yes, Sahar uses a voice answering machine in her office and yes sometimes you hear it IF people call while your there. She does this so that she can answer if she needs to-for instance if someone is late or is lost and needs directions. Otherwise, she just let the person leave a message and calls them back later. I know, cause when I leave messages she doesn't call me back till the evening after she's done with all her appointments. AND furthermore, it is very rare that someone calls while I am having my treatment. This has happened only 2 times or so over 2 years. 7. If you purchased $270 of product from her it's because you wanted to. She does not pressure ANYONE into buying product and never says you HAVE to use it. I know cause I have bought product before but then ended up sharing with her that I use Tea Tree Oil anyways at home and she said, "Oh, then your good, just use that!" Also, I find it hard to believe that you bought $270 worth or product when most of the stuff she sells is ply $35-$50. You must have purchased everything she sells. 8. Sahar is NOT BAISED...yes a large majority of her customers are from her culture...Iraq ladies have a lot of hair and they hate it and wouldn't you prefer to go to someone from your culture for some things?! But also, a good majority are white or hispanic and I know cause I have seen them come and go. 9. And lastly, if you feel the need to write a review, how about letting the person who actually had the treatment tell the story. I'm sure there's a possibility that her mom's perspective was much different. It is really a shame that from 1 visit someone had such a harsh review and it wasn't even written by the person that got the treatment.
